The long weekend threw me off, I thought I had an extra day to flush out all of that salt. Ohh well. It will come back down after I sweat it all out at hockey again Thursday night.

OK! It’s below the dreaded 180. I know…it’s likely water weight and also having my sling off. It’s possible I’ve broken through the plateau. That’s what I’ll choose to believe today.
I had my first Physio (PT) appointment this morning. It was good to get clarity about which movements are good and which to avoid for the next few weeks. For the most part, my intuition has told me the truth. That’s a relief.
I’ll be going to Emily’s later today to return Sunday morning. I look forward to being in that space for a few days and just answerable to myself.
I’m doing pretty well with eating no CAP this week. The one thing that was more processed last night was jasmine rice and REFINED sugar in the homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookie (a.k.a. Crunchy Frogs).
I’ll aim to have no refined sugar tomorrow.
Have a great day!8 -
@EvMakesChanges
Well done! Below 180 is great! Keep up the good work - and don't forget about the refined flour in those crunchy frogs... It is good you will be at Emily's and keeping on the rails, celebrating the 170s in style.
There is quite a bit of red in the spreadsheet so far this week, though - if you need a boost, head over to this month's challenge and work on those CRAPpy ingredients in your daily fare

Together, the seven of us walked a total of 676,623 steps, or 320 miles. This is half of the one-way distance by car that I did to see my dad – from Calgary, Alberta to Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Pretty impressive!
Keep up the great work.6 -
@ashleycarole86 Great step report. Thank you for all the work you do to report to us. It’s so fun to read. 🤗👏🏼 Thanks for the mention of my exercise. I feel like I’m on a role, especially with Pilates. Today, I have an hour of exercise in two 15 minute increments and one 30.
Welcome back from your vacations. Good luck with your regularly scheduled programming.
@DD265 Glad to hear your presentation went well. Always helps when people are nice. Your energy is amazing and awe inspiring.
And look at you @Kali225 !! Pulling your day together and going out for a jog at 8:30. The “mom” in me wants to say be careful jogging in the dark alone. 🤗 😉
@jugar All those apples 🍎 and a scale moving down. Such problems! 😉 Hope the bulldozer is all quiet now. 🤫
@eggfreak Everyone who would like puppies to visit should get a visit every now and then. What fun and calming 🐶.
Don’t know about all of you, but we are still crazy warm for the middle of October. Almost 80° today. I’m ready for fall. 🍁 Whatever that means in 2021.
@EvMakesChanges Congratulations for getting into the 170s!!! Yay you. 🎉👏🏼🎉👏🏼

@EvMakesChanges I second the congrats... great week for you. Enjoy your time at Emily's.1

Today was a good day! Set my alarm, got on the bike and did my ride (working through a Mastering the Basics program for 6 weeks), and then I had an eye doctor appointment and thought "why not walk the dog there?" I am in love with using walking as my mode of transportation. So, me and the little fluff went out and 68 minutes I was at my appointment. Brad had to meet me with the car to take the dog, but he was willing.
He spent lots of time on the bike today too, so it was a great "back to normal day".
Only one more day of this VERY long vacation.. while it wasn't the cross-country whirlwind we had originally planned, we had a ton of fun!
@eggfreak Yes the email inbox surprise is never a fun one is it... I've been kinda taking a peek and it's going to be a busy Friday
Night guys! Will be back in a bit with my final exercise report.3 -
@ashleycarole86 I may have missed your earlier mention of having a dog, but I feel like I am owed pictures...
@EvMakesChanges way to go!!! 170s! How thrilling to drop into a new decade. And water weight is still weight. It all has to come off anyways.
@micki48 I am sure my own mother is not always thrilled at my sometimes very late night movement. But I do live in a safe area and my walks take me by a college campus that has a blue light system and a noticeable campus police force. I am with you on the HEAT! As much as I want to see a "7" near the start of the scale, I am SICK of seeing it start the day's temperature. Give me sweater weather or give me death.
I have to celebrate a very small victory. For perhaps the first time in... a year? I had my meal plan for all 3 meals, I logged early in the day, I did not count on any snacks, I had the prepared [delicious] dinner, and I let myself WAIT to feel FULL and did not want ANY other food. Diary closed. The end. Goodbye, kitchen, see you tomorrow. And I know having just 2-3 days in a row like this sets me up for several more days of less cravings, measured eating, better awareness, and motivation. It's always the first really good day that's hardest.
Feels good.
Night all. I was actually able to finish work around 9pm which is a big improvement and I am going to take a bubble bath!4 -

I am struggling… lost my support system, knee injury… I am sorry that I haven’t been a strong team member. Trying to shake, shake, shake it off.8 -

So many hugs flying your way - keep taking the deep breaths, eat the food that nourishes, and hopefully come by here for at least a distance support system. You are going to shake it off4 -

Way to kick this day's butt @Kali225 ... enjoy that well earned bubble bath!
Here is our little Morgan:
We always say she is small but mighty! She has progressed with us in a way - as we slowly added time on to her walks, we were doing the same for us! I am always amazed by her stamina... we do have a dog backpack that we take to bail her out if we go too far, but that's rare... she has a lot of energy when she needs to call on it (but at the same time she's a big smush smush and just loves people and cuddles). Our pride and joy!

Happy Wednesday 😊
@EvMakesChanges Congrats on the great weigh in! Hope your PT let's you move a little more too.
@Kali225 You are doing so awesome lately! Keep it up
@DD265 Glad you checked your presentation off the list. Sounds like you put in a lot of hard work. Hope you get a moment to rest and do some things you want to do!
@ashleycarole86 Love the puppy!3 -
@MoStacy I know it's not the same, but we're all here for you. You don't need to apologise; weight loss is not linear and if it were easy none of us would be on this site I'm sure.
I got my gym gear sorted out last night. I still fit comfortably in my winter things from the start of the year (they must've been really tight...) so the only thing I may want to buy is a new gilet as that did go on the 'too big' pile along with some summer tops and bottoms. I'm leaning towards selling some of the items I'm decluttering so to avoid it building up and becoming a chore, I probably need to list as I go. Next categories on the list are nightwear and t-shirts. I tend to wear the same few things all the time and not bother with the rest.
What's surprised me a little is when I found that I'd kept the ski jacket, it fit really well. (I now have lightweight, midweight and heavyweight waterproof jackets lol). Some of the gym gear now fits really well. It has me questioning how small this stuff was on me last winter, as I've lost over 10kg. I suppose if the weight gain is gradual, you don't always notice (or perhaps admit) how tight clothing is becoming, but I feel like I bought most of this at my heaviest. Anyway, the main thing is not needing to buy more now.

CW old scale 151 CW new scale 150, split the difference for this one weigh in? call it 150.5? No matter what you call it, I am still pleased (although sorry it's more red for the team) - you really don't know what disastrous eating I got up to on stay-cation. Seems the increased activity helped balance that. Now I'm back to the office without the thousands of steps but with more order and ability to control the food. Last night I went for an evening stroll - pretty short and not a march but I will increase the pace as I continue through the fall and winter.

Ugh. I have had a really good week. I have worked out 3 days this week and I will get another workout today. I have been logging and my calories and macros look good. I will just keep at it and hope for a bigger loss next week.
@kali225 agreed, that is great! Keep it up.
@mostacy sorry to hear you are struggling. You can do this! We will be your support system.
@DD265 that's the best filling when your clothes are too big.8 -
I can empathize with a lot of people here, this has not been a good week for me either. I'm self-isolating, awaiting a negative result on a COVID test. I've been double-vaxxed, but still had some symptoms and did not want to spread anything to my coworkers. That means no gym for me and no good eating schedule (something I'll have to work on when I'm done this contract position). Next week has got to be better!4

I'm okay with a small loss as we had a fun vacation and I "may" have had some rough days. 😉 Back on the horse starting... Now!6 -
@DD265
You're starting to get me to stop procrastinating about de-cluttering! I'm pretty good about clothes and general stuff, but the "haven't used in ages" category is hovering politely in the background waiting for attention. I need to make a plan and put it in my agenda so I get annoying reminders from my phone every day until it's done!
It is fun trying on things as you change size and shape, though. When I first hit my goal weight 9 years ago, my big reward was a kind of style consultation that a local clothing designer (and fun person) was offering. Her shop is a delight, but I had never dared go into a place like that before. The consultation was scary at first, but turned out to be a blast. They took my measurements, then had me go around the shop to pick out 5 things I liked and 5 things I would not wear if you paid me. They did the same. 5 things they thought would look great on me, and 5 I would be better off avoiding. It was so interesting - especially when it came to colours. They got me out of the hide-in-the-shadows colours and away from things that too well matched my grey hair. Then they talked necklines, and belts (yikes!) and other scary stuff. I left the place with a lighter wallet, but with some really cool clothes that I performed in for years, and that I still wear. I am just about to give away one skirt that is now too loose and drags on the ground, and one sundress that I don't wear anymore, but the whole experience made a difference in how I see myself. And I think I have about 15 belts now
@eggfreak
I'm going with the new scale number. It will keep you on the straight and narrow this week!
@KellyBgetsfit
Don't forget that working out more builds muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. As you build muscle, you retain water for a bit too - it will pass! The MOST cool thing about muscle is that it helps you burn more calories even when you're not exercising. Keep up the good work!
@kellie_erin
Hang in there! Long days of isolation are no fun at all.
I'm heading out for a long day of raking the earth that got moved around yesterday and planting some grasses in hopes that they'll germinate before the weather turns too cold. Have a good one!4 -
@MoStacy Sorry to hear about the knee injury, and loss of in person support. Really agree with everyone else's comments - we can help support you however you need. You will find your way!3
-
@DD265 You have an organized structure to tackling things in your life and it is super inspiring for sure! I don't tend to have a plan and then I get overwhelmed because there are a ton of things I "should" do that I don't.3
-
@eggfreak Glad for the pleasant surprise on the scale after your vacation - congrats!
@KellyBgetsfit Sorry for the disappointment you're feeling - it's not a great feeling to put in the hard work and not get the result you expected, but confident if you continue to stay the course you'll get there!
@kellie_erin Hope the test result comes back soon... and that this bout of illness fell at such a crappy time that should have been full of celebrating. Take care
Yesterday's exercise was:
13623 steps + 20 minutes Peloton
Last week of vacation today - off to enjoy it!4 -

I love a list and a plan; not being able to plan for something (like when we didn't know if my husband would be joining the police) is a nightmare for me.
I'm a lot more flexible about adjusting the plan than I used to be though. I remember once, and I was in the midst of depression at the time, having an anxiety attack because we arrived at the launderette 10 minutes later than I'd intended - I don't think there were any real consequences, but I desperately needed the sense of control. These days I'm generally pretty well grounded, so moving a task from today into next week isn't a big deal. Occasionally I even delete the list and start over lol.
There are definitely many things that I 'should' do, which aren't getting done, but ultimately there's only so much I can do. This is why I try to chip away at it with a bit every day, and particularly with decluttering, the less you have the less time you have to spend maintaining it. I follow a decluttering group on Reddit and they say that every object you have, has a demand on your time. The book says 'read me', the DVD says 'watch me', the ornament says 'clean me' and the clothes say 'wear me'. You can't do it all at once, so then comes the guilt because you're not wearing the clothes whilst cleaning the ornament, reading the book with the DVD on in the background. That really made sense to me and whilst I'll never be minimalist, I'm definitely happy to have less stuff than we do now.6 -

Sending big virtual hugs and support. Like everyone else has said, no apologies! We have all been there. We all struggle. This is not easy, but we believe you can do this. Listen to your body. Give yourself grace with your injury and keep checking in here for support. We can’t actually take bad food from your hands, but we can offer support, motivation, and inspiration. We believe in you!!
@KellyBgetsfit I know it is sooooo frustrating when you have had a good week and the scale doesn’t show it. Just remember, you are MUCH more than that number on the scale. You’ve got this. You are right too! That hard work will eventually show up on the scale.
@ashleycarole86 Congratulations on yet another great loss! And coming off that long vacation. Look what you've done! You are sooo close to Onederland. Knowing you, I give it 3 weeks max!! Cute pup too!
@kellie_erin Hope you get that negative result soon.
@eggfreak Good for you. I probably would have totally gone with that new scale. Hope this week back is good for you.
No walk yet today for me, but did 27 minutes of Pilates this am. Just doing house stuff today. Kids for dinner. Grilling.

Great news! Now you can get back to life again. No partying with chocolate cake, now...
I had the ultimate upper body and back workout today - hours of using the iron rake on the very dense and thick clay/earth getting it ready to plant some grass seed. Pulling out rocks and trucking them by wheelbarrow over to a low, wet place in one of our trails. Yanking out old roots. Removing the blobs of dug-up sod. Fun! Then the seed got planted on all but 2 edges I had not finished smoothing out yet. One of four areas (almost) done. Three to go It's kind of last minute for planting grasses, but the weather is still so mild it might even work. I guess this is my next few days, too - gotta get 'er done. It sure ups the step count! Watch out, team!!5
