Friday weigh in
PW 200.0
CW 199.5 π
Yesterday was lower with an 8 in the ones place. But Iβll take it. At least itβs moving in the right direction. Now to get back to that 196 where I was forever and KEEP going. πͺπΌ
I have been doing Pilates 5-6 days a week. Itβs only about 15ish minutes on average but I can definitely see/feel the results. Iβve also gotten my steps back up over 8k daily. And logged my food and stayed under calories. It makes a difference. Now to keep this up. Itβs not always fun not to have ice cream. Some days are a lot easier than others to say No thank you. π¦π₯
Shouting CONGRATULATIONS to you Sam!! @happimess01 What a life transformation you have made!!!!!! Normal weight! You have worked so hard and accomplished an amazing feat. You can do anything. We are all so proud of you. What an inspiration to others.

@ashleycarole86 Sorry to hear you had one of those nights, but you sure showed it who is boss! Go girlie! β€οΈ
@jugar How are you feeling today, Mighty one?!6 -
PW 226.4
CW 225.6
Yesss! Really thankful to have a loss this week since I had a few high calorie days and skipped my weekly meal prep.
@ashleycarole86 Glad you had a productive morning even though it started so early π΄
@steph1497 Great job and have fun in Paris!
@happimess01 Woo-hoo π π π So happy for you. This is great news and very exciting to hit the healthy body weight range. Glad you have a better sleep schedule and I'm sure the diet coke habit will get checked off the list eventually. Great job!
@gak71 Nicely done this week π
Now I have a little time to relax before virtual lego club with my youngest. Then some shopping and house cleaning. Have a good day everyone!8 -
@micki48 Super job and now back to onederland! Great job on all the workouts and ice cream avoiding. Glad you mentioned @jugar! I hope you are holding up well after all that raking. My dad is retired now but was a master greens keeper on several fancy golf courses throughout his career. He has a really long explanation on why planting grasses in the fall is better than the spring. I'll spare you the details but basically the earth retains that summer heat longer than we think. Your grass should do okay π6

Happy Friday!
I am happy to report that I am much less sore than I expected to be this morning, and I'm raring to get out there and finish the danged job. The scale did not make me too happy, but I still managed some green even though it was a lot greener a couple of days ago. I'll blame the late evening snack. It was good stuff (no c.r.a.p.!) but late. I was just too hungry to go to bed. But this morning all is well and I'm heading back out there.
@happimess01
I join everyone in wild applause - you are our hero! Be careful after such a large drop though - you will feel SO hungry and you probably need to eat more, as you said. Down in the goal area, hunger happens really easily, and you certainly cannot hang on to those large deficits. And you're building muscle. You are amazing.
@Steph1498
I'm so jealous - Paris is paradise, as far as cities go. Going there with kids is a blast too - so much great walking with tons to see everywhere, and of course great eating everywhere too. Enjoy!
@gak71
Green! It might not be a huge loss, but more of the weight is gone. How have you been adjusting your eating? I know you were looking for alternatives to keto. I'd love to hear about what you are trying, what's working, what is still a challenge.
I love the happy stories today - good losses, BMI ranges, getting back into Onederland - it is all making me really proud. I brag about you all to my taller half all the time. He says we're number one. He's always right!7 -

Ugh. I'm throwing a wrench into all the green progress. These last few weeks have been especially difficult and part of me just wants to give up. I feel like I'll never reach my goal weight let alone see the 170s again.
I said no to the pizza and cake last night even though I really wanted it. My willpower is definitely on its last legs right now π©7 -

This week sucked for eating and exercising! Work consumed me and I just want to eat everything sweet right now. Hopefully next week is better.8 -
Looking up at the clock, I can see that the night has slipped into Saturday. Must have happened while I was reading these great posts.
@Steph1498 I know you will have a fine time in Paris. I haven't been there for some years and I miss it.
@kellie_erin please don't worry about going into the red - it happens! We all know you're doing your best. Besides, it's just a smidge!
Well I'm back from London - it was a good trip, and it's always great to catch up with Mum. And this evening we went out for dinner with friends.
This week's been odd. While I decided to take the week off from exercise after completing Epic 1 last week, I haven't been eating enough, so my scale numbers have been up every single day so far this week. So come Sunday, Weigh in Day, only a miracle will result in a green number.
This weekend will see me having coffee with a friend, doing household chores and swapping my summer clothes for my winter ones.
Next week I start Epic 2 and I can't wait.
Enjoy your weekend, Peeps! Yx6 -

You didn't give up. You weighed in. You said no to pizza and cake. You might need a new tool or two - and you'll hit those 170s before you know it. Willpower isn't real, I find. It's just the daily "do the thing". The best you can. Every day. Some days you can't do it as well as others. Grab another tool sometimes, because we get bored with the usual ones. That is what is great about a team like this - see what tools others are using and give one a try.
If you have a plan you think works for you when you do it, then just start with one perfect day. Pre-log. Follow the plan. Just one day. You'll feel better right away and the second day will be much easier.
If you dont have a plan you like, ask some questions. See what has helped others in a similar situation to yours. Give it a try. Failures are just information - it is great to know what does not work. But don't give up! Hang out here and keep trying!4 -
OMG I can relate to your thing for sweets, @bonnie_red
Today, I had just finished the day's raking and planting grass, and this was slower and more horrible than yesterday due to the high number of clods of earth to break up, old sod to remove, stones, and just general lumpiness of the whole mess. I was DONE for the day, and after I arrived at the house and felt not at all like making something for dinner, my son showed up. Bearing killer ice cream, several candy bars, rice cakes, and anything else he could think of to give us a wicked treat. Of course, he was hoping to join us for dinner but had not let us know! Luckily, I had thawed some stuff this morning, even though the veggie offerings were a bit slim I managed to pull together a pretty good dinner. Then all the treats came out, and we had ridiculous sweet stuff. It was wonderful. Luckily, Friday is always my free eating day, so I could dive in without feeling too terrible. I know it will make tomorrow more difficult, and not all of the ice cream is gone, so right now my son is in deep trouble... I think I'll have to invite someone over for a treat tomorrow! It was worth it to have our shy and somewhat reclusive son come over because he actually wanted to talk. Yes!
Hang in there, green or red. We're all learning and finding ways to make the new get to be the normal.5 -
Last folks due for the week's weigh-ins:
@JohnPetelle
@ellz_runs
@evangsimmons170
and hopefully also:
@Terytha
@TessieMac833
@mocchaeyes7961
Thanks!0 -
Quick check in. All food logged. Under goal. Over 8k steps. Got some cute pumpkins.
Keep at it team!2 -
@jugar I tried to transition off keto and quickly slipped back in to horrible habits! I love Coke and tried to have one per day and I can't do that!!!! One turned in to four and all of that sugar triggered all kinds of hunger and cravings. I went back on keto to break all of the cravings and bad habits and at some point will try to move away from keto again.5

I've enjoyed reading your updates and seeing the losses. To be honest, it helps seeing the gains too. They are a good reminder that we all have them and that they're just part of the process. Enjoy your weekend!4

@conleywoods Congrats on the great loss!
@kellie_erin Sorry for the setback but you are so close! A week of red is so quickly turned around - you've got this. The 170's WILL be yours!
@bonnie_red Work stress is a tough one for me too.. hoping for a better week in that department for you as well
Totally agree with @gak71 .. it's not just the losses that inspire us and help motivate, it's the gains. The gains remind us that this is a process, that weight loss doesn't happen in one go, that struggles can be overcome, and that it's the long term consistent decisions and habits that matter.
In red weeks, so much can be the cause! I started tracking my average daily weigh-ins separately to remind me that all is not lost, and to ensure I'm not getting sad based on one number. For example, on my weigh-in day here, I was 205.. and the next day I was 207.4!!!! Then, back down to 205.4 today. If I'd had Friday as my weigh in day, I would have been posting a gain instead of the loss. Anyway, the body is a weird and wild place, isn't it?
One other thing I always try to think is "where the heck would I be if I wasn't here?" For me, the answer is a very different place... and it reminds me that all is not lost.
Yesterday's exercise:
5910 steps + 22 minutes yoga + 15 minutes Peloton
I am frustrated by this because I was just shy of my step goal - I started my day off great with exercise and then was lazier at night than I needed to be.
BUT, even goals are just things we try to show up for... perfection will not get in the way of progress in this camp anymore4 -
I hope everybody is having an enjoyable weekend.
We had a lie in this morning - can't believe the cats allowed that to happen - after winning the quiz last night. I teamed up with OH to ride to victory on his coat tails, because I don't stand a chance on my own. It worked! We went to do the food shopping, then have been doing bits and pieces at home this afternoon.
I bought another load of cook books from Humble Bundle. I've not looked through them yet but I will find the recipes I think we'd like and input them to Google Keep. In the spirit of my current decluttering/organising mindset, I've added some new labels to the recipe notes, so we can group by batch cooking or soup recipes etc. As we add more recipes, it becomes harder to find a specific one though you can search, so you can search by ingredient if you want, which comes in very handy.
It's roast beef for dinner tonight and I did buy some pigs in blankets (sausage wrapped in bacon) from the butchers because they were there and I could lol. I have plans to make lemon drizzle cupcakes this weekend (but without the buttercream icing to reduce the calories, I'll just do lemon glace icing) and sausage rolls. Tomorrow we're having a pork and sweet potato stew, and I've bought double quantities of the ingredients so we can do it as a batch cook.
I decluttered the jumpers and bottoms yesterday. I feel like I've kept more jumpers than I need but it was hard to get rid of everything, plus I do layer quite a bit over winter. I found a jumper that I've never worn, and it's a meal-out type of jumper which is great because I often feel like I've nothing warm-but-nice to wear when we go out. Plus I was able to get into a couple of size 10 jumpers which feels good. I'm not sure that I'm any closer to an empty drawer, but I will keep chipping away at it. Next is the shelf above the drawers, which separates them from hanging things - I use it as a dumping ground...6 -
Checking in on a beautiful (but STILL TOO HOT) Saturday morning.
@micki48 woooooooo! Onederland, lady!
@Steph1498 I've been able to stick pretty close to the plan for my meals this month, and I just adored the lunches I had last week - a warm goat cheese salad. I swapped it in for my first week of November lunches, it was so good! (Really simple, just arugula, lite balsamic dressing, and the goat cheese is in discs, dredged lightly through egg + breadcrumb, and baked at 400F for 8 min so it's a little crisp and warm. No shortening needed. I did pair it with some cold cut pepperoni for protein, and a fruit).
@ashleycarole86 I was catching up on the thread here last night and I think your story of a poor night of sleep go to me haha! I am usually down for the count when I conk out, but last night I woke up at 4:30am for about 20 annoying minutes. But I am really blaming this hot October, as I was sweating to death and had to turn up the AC.
@jugar and @eggfreak you (a some others I think) both noted that my "small" victory on tuesday (maybe it was wed...) is really not small - you're right! It was hard! But I actually kept up that exact routine (logged early, ate as planned, NO snacks) for the whole rest of the week!! The scale has duly rewarded me. I don't want to scare it away but I feel an autumn hot streak stirring for weight loss...
My aunt texted me out of the blue that she and my cousin will be in town this weekend and they want to take me to lunch on Sunday - it will be nice to see them, but of course, makes me a little nervous about eating out 2 days before weigh-in. However, I would say in 2021 I have gotten markedly better at ordering meals when eating out - making the small adjustments that take out calories, saying no to the bread basket, etc. They want to do dim sum in China Town which sounds awesome to me. Although Asian cuisine can be bread/calorie-heavy with dumplings and rice, I usually find that it sits well with me, and incorporates more vegetables than I might otherwise.
Lots of fun chores on the list for today - I just stopped at the pharmacy to print a whole bunch of pictures, I'll be hanging some frames and running to Target for more frames later. And I picked up my new glasses! New Rx and it feels amazing. I forgot that leaves are separate entities, not just green blobs.
@DD265
lemon drizzle cupcakes sound awesome. And a good substitution to take off the icing! I'm a sucker for a good muffin.4 -
What a lazy day here - it is rainy, sometimes even wildly and violently windy and rainy, so I'm inside yawning a lot. I doubt I'll make my steps for the day, but it is OK. Feels good to have a boring restful day. The leaves have been coming down thick and fast in this weather - it sometimes looks like an orange blizzard. That works really well in French - un orage orange! We have an old car parked up and you can't even see it right now. It is completely covered in leaves.
@Kali225
New glasses! Isn't it the best? I have had some pretty weird and crazy eyesight challenges over my lifetime, and some of those "LOOK!! LEAVES!!" moments have been amazing. The funniest one was after a cornea transplant in 1985, I was walking down the corridor with a colleague at the university and I suddenly freaked out, thinking a very large dog was barging up next to my left leg. I jumped, and then realised that it was my own left hand swinging along as I walked. I had not seen it in a long time Good eyesight is a beautiful large dog.
Hopefully the rest of the week's weigh-ins will come in soon I'll be back to pester later!4
