Hey Jessica,
Ugh - my Fitbit bit the dust! Not sure what’s going on, but I think I’m going to need a newer model (mine’s a Charge2 from years ago). I’m going to need some time to get set up with something new, so I think it’s best to drop me from the step challenge for the rest of October ☹️
@Waifer003 Sorry you're fitbit died. I'll just fill the chart with zeros for the rest of the week...just go ahead and order one from the website or amazon and you'll be back before you know it! We still have two weeks to go in the month! New toys are fun!

That really sucks. I switched from Fitbit to an Apple Watch a few years ago. I like it much better, you do need to charge it more often though.

Glad to be walking a bit more.Had an xray on my shoulder at the hospital yesterday.They want to see me again in 6 weeks.Meantime I'm awaiting an appointment for a scan as I may need an operation ✌it won't come to that.At least I can go to the gym now but I'm being careful not to over do it.
I'm enjoying doing some dance workouts on u tube again.Haven't done any for months.I'm hoping classes will soon return to my gym.Its not as much fun dancing on my own than with a group.4 -

I hope things work out. Just remember to take it easy and lets pray it won't have to lead to surgery.1 -
CharmingPassion wrote: »Hey everyone, finally checking in. So the surgery went from being laproscopic to open which meant healing time and stuff went from 2-4 weeks to 6 weeks minimum. Recovery has been rough but everyday gets a bit better. I can finally almost lay down flat again and I can bend over, but everyday I have to wear this compression item. Its been three weeks of it, and I still have three weeks more. I get so tired, but energy is returning a bit more. I am hoping in a couple weeks to get back into a routine of things. Other then walking a bit, all other working out is on hold. I miss chatting with you all and look forward to being a part of the team again.
@CharmingPassion Good to see you posting again...sorry to hear your surgery was changed and your healing time lengthened! Glad you're starting to get better though...I had them move you to the support team, so whenever you're ready to resume, just let me know. Don't push yourself...you know your body...listen to it...and to your medical professionals and take it slow!! Time to read, rest and relax!

Good morning team. I had a lot of stress from the appointment I had at 13:00. It was with someone from the organisation I get my youth disability benefit from and someone from a reintegration place. I haven't been able to work more than a few hours a week for years now, and I am always afraid they try to push me into doing things I can't and don't want to do. He suggested trying to get my benefit changed to 100% disabled instead of the 85-100% group I fall into now. I think it's a very long shot though. He asked me to write down all the problems I run into in my life, why I feel I can't work etc. Going to take a while to get a cohesive list together. I made a start already, but it's all over the place. Also going to call my doctor this morning to see if I can somehow get an official diagnose for chronic fatigue. It will help to have something black on white.
@CharmingPassion
Good luck with your recovery! I hope time goes by fast and you can start building up your workouts again soon.
@izzyred9400
Hoping with you for no surgery. I also like doing dance workouts on youtube. I personally prefer that over a group setting, because half of the time I have no idea what I am doing and I am sure it shows.

Good morning team. Not much to report. I had a good food day, good gym day. I was very tired so I didn't go to the store. Will do that this morning. I also went to bed before 19:00 which was a little dramatic, but I couldn't stay awake anymore! Slept almost 10 hours total.

Yay! Surprised as all week my weight has stuck the same as last Sat.I've stayed within my calorie goal all week,but I know how fickle those darn scales can be !!
Have a great weekend everyone & smash those goals.
@Pupowl thank you for your kind words.I have always danced since I was little so I still find I can pick up steps fairly easily.I do make mistakes sometimes.Just dance like nobody's watching is one of my favourite sayings & things to do 💃💃💃💃5 -
I'm trying to get motivated to head outside for a walk...it's cooler today and not supposed to rain until this evening, but it's been such a busy and tough week, I'm not sure I'm winning this motivation battle! Ever been there?!!
So how are you spending your Caturday?!! My Hazel thinks it's the best day of the week!! LOL
Enjoy!! Oh and hey...haven't heard from many of you this week...would love an update on how you're doing...also, how did your week go in the Captain's Challenge area of focus? What went well, what was a struggle? Tomorrow starts Week Week 4...we're halfway through...hope it's helping you!

Happy it’s a loss, still not back to where I was before my Vegas holiday.
Today is a running around day. Taking my youngest to dance, groceries and more house cleaning. We are still under construction, it is an entrance way addition, new kitchen and updated bathroom. They started late May and were supposed to be done early August.
They were not careful and have created a massive mess, I have washed and scrubbed one of my floors 5 times. I finally have the paint off it. Can’t wait for them to be finally done.3 -

Just wanted to stop by and say hi! Sorry I've been so absent from the group chat the last month or so. I've taken on a new role at work which has been great but it has increased my workload and is keeping me very busy. School and outside life is also keeping me very busy lately so I have been away from the group a lot outside of my weekly weigh ins. Sorry!
It looks like there have been some great losses lately, great job team!3 -

Ugh, I didn't expect all that weight to come on so fast. I hope it's mostly water weight. I ate entirely too much food the latter half of this week. Too much, plus, I keep eating cereal by the handfuls right out of the box. I think breakfast cereal is not going on my shopping list again. Plus, too much jerky. That stuff is addictive. I also have too little vegetables in my diet. That's something I'm going to work on this week. No more eating cereal as snack and adding more vegetables to my meals.
@Waifer003 I've always wanted to see the aurora borealis. Awesome picture!
@Pupowl I like how consistent you are in giving us a snapshot of your day. I hear you about buying treats. I have very poor control over what I eat and tend to finish whole bags of chips/cookies, etc. I've been out of control with eating cereal of late. I hope the review for your disability goes well.
@CharmingPassion I hope all goes smoothly with your recovery!
@yukie86 Peace and wellbeing are very important. Sometimes it's better to distance yourself from relationships that are harmful to you than to let it keep hurting you.
@izzyred9400 I hope your shoulder will be okay and won't need surgery!
@GSAllumbaugh I know you can do it! It sounds like you have good plans in place. Keep up the good work.
@jessicakrall8 Hey Jessica, I hear you about food just calling out to you. It does for me as well. Very annoying. I hope you had a great week!3 -

I was lax on my goals this week and it shows. Not going to dwell on it (it is what it is), just going regain focus and get back to basics.
We're past the mid-month mark now, let's stay focused and keep at it, team!3 -
@Arc130
Thank you, I am glad people appreciate it! It personally really helps me as well to check in daily, no matter how brief. I think I will try to only buy treats that have a max of 400 calories. So even if I end up eating the whole package, I can do some damage control. I am also pretty lazy; if I don't have anything at home, I won't go out to get it either. So once it's gone, it's gone. Good luck getting in more veggies.5 -

Happy Weekend Everyone,
Hope you all have a nice, relaxing (yet productive) weekend. Want to tell you all how thankful I am for this group. Planning to do some housecleaning and a bit of cleaning up in the garden today while it’s so nice outside.6 -

Awwww @Waifer003 Is that your fur baby?!! SO CUTE!!!! And upside down is twice as sweet!!!! I see the little toofies and the boop nose!! I'm in love!
I'm completely nuts about little yorkie puppies and kitties of all colors, breeds and sizes...I'm just a nut about them...SHARE AWAY!!!
BTW, that wasn't my baby...here's my Hazel Joy...

Very proud of myself today...got up early...headed out to Chesapeake City Park and walked a mile...whew I was sweatin!!! It was nearly 80 by the time I was done and IN THE SUN! I earned a fat gold star today!!! LOL Felt good...and I've only got 11 miles to go to hit my goal this month of 28 intentional walking miles...next month, I'll do 30...started back in July at 20 miles...going up a little each month so as not to overwhelm this left knee. Weight going down, exercise going up...it's been a good few weeks!
I'm almost at my step goal today! YAY!
This week, my focus was on journaling...I've been making postings and sharing thoughts all week...did a little journaling...writing inner-personal things...planning...did really well on logging food, water and activity all week. So, it was successful...wish I'd done a little more but it's also been busy and stressful at work, so I've done well, all things considering. Kept the cravings under control and handled my monthly Chinese food meal quite well...cut the portion size down and finished it in two meals, not one. Didn't have too much swelling, but we'll see how Monday's weigh in goes...might be a slight gain, but it's the best I can do. I don't want to get back to the days where I restrict myself so much that I just throw in the towel. I'm GOING to live with my eating plan...it's not a diet.
I think for Week 4 of the Captain's Challenge, I'll focus on food choices...like @Arc130 said, I need to eat more vegetables...so want to work on that this week.
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!

Awww 🥰. So sweet! I love Caturday ❤️
The upside down photo was Cleo and this one here is Dibby. These two sweethearts were our foster cats at the start of Covid (although it took about two hours for us to make it permanent lol). Just before Covid started we lost our 23 year old cat Waifer. Didn’t think we were ready for new kitties for a while. But Cleo and Dibby were definitely the key to my family getting through the pandemic.

@Waifer003 Last fall, I lost my 12 yr old Lacy Sue very suddenly...I went about a month with no purr and then rescued Hazel and renamed her Hazel Joy because that's what she brought me...joy. She's the most gentle cat I've ever had and I'd have cats since I was 8 yrs old. I went to the rescue to get a kitten, but something about her just grabbed at my heart. She was the oldest cat there and had never had a home...4 yrs in a shelter is just wrong...so I brought her home. She's very skiddish...even now...scared of every little sound she hears...but she loves to get her ears rubbed and just recently has discovered the joys of shoe laces...so now she wakes me in the middle of the night to play...I've created a monster...so before bed, I have to hide her shoe laces until morning! LOL She's so sweet...but they overfed her at the shelter, so I'm trying to lower her food intake...she's watching what she eats just like we are!
Here was my Lacy right before she passed...I miss her every day.
Jessica
