This is getting a tad ridiculous.
@PlaneMonkey Do you know you don’t have to pay for premium for access to this group??? I only have the free version. Premium allows you access to more data and workouts, but not this community. It’s part of the free version.2 -
Not much to report today. Food is logged. No Pilates today. Took the day off.
@ashleycarole86 How exciting to see all your hard work pay off!! 100 pounds!! What an amazing thing you’ve done for yourself. I can totally see why that would make you emotional. Keep at it. You are almost there. We will be here holding the tiara for you!
@jugar Glad to hear you are feeling better.
@kdplpn I like Happy by Pharrell.
Thanks for the encouragement and kind words friends.2 -

I agree. It's annoying. But you don't have to pay premium to access the community, (I don't) just thought you should know that1 -
@micki48 you beat me to it, I see
I will be turning 40 this year and I had a visitor over the weekend telling me I am choosing all the wrong workouts and will damage my joints/knees. I've always had a lot of energy and enjoy high-energy workouts. Currently running, rowing and rope skipping. I never liked the slow ones -tried Pilates once, but got really bored a few minutes in (sorry Pilates folk )
What are people's thoughts on this? Should I stop doing these workouts and try find something more gentle I enjoy? It's often the fast calorie burn that motivates me so I'm not sure I'll find an alternative.3 -
@ashleycarole86 well done and I agree with @happimess01 - a prize, reward or treat to mark the occasion is in order.
@PlaneMonkey Such a nice photo of your parents.
I've been an early morning logger the past few days...and then going off the rails (and the plan) by about 10 am, passing by the healthy options. I don't want to go down that road... I should put a huge red stop sign on the fridge, or rather, the freezer.
This has been the mildest fall - I'm still working on wrapping the gardens up. Dahlias, cannas, geraniums all dug, 'curing' and into the cellar they'll go. I never did that for years, always thought what a pain, then tried it one winter when a customer had dahlias and found out it was very easy (& our cellar conditions right) but of course I have to push it too far and collect all I can find, ridiculous but a fairly harmless obsession. Discovered a most interesting, relaxing and inspiring program (UK folks will know!) on Amazon Prime & Britbox - Gardeners World. It will help me get through the winter and in the spring all sorts of ideas will be put in place!
My town's garden club started participating in a 'plant a row' program for the local food pantry. I had some veg to contribute but also flowers and a friend and I contributed quite a few when the zinnias started and it was fun to assemble and received very well - a little ray of sunshine and a little luxury. I'm planning already for next year.

I would say, do what you like. Everyone is different. Don't go to any extremes and abuse your body/joints, but heck, it's called living your life.5 -

November is always hard! We want to "get ready" for winter by bulking up a bit! All the animals do it, why not us? grumble, grumble...
Other Sunday peeps? Hope you're doing all right and able to get on here -

What?!?!? Ack!
Thank you for the enlightenment. I'll have to see if there are any features that I actually use that ARE premium features since I apparently don't know where the line is drawn before I cancel the auto renewal for next year.
Thanks!2 -
@ashleycarole86 Could I change my step targets please? I think that I need to reduce my daily step goal to 7000 steps. This way I can hopefully achieve more successful step days than not!

@happimess01 Thank you! Seeing you and @Terytha and knowing it was possible was so helpful to me this year. I don't really have anything planned, it sorta snuck up on me as I was focused on leaving obesity related BMI's and the 200's behind and now here I am. It feels great though and I'm just so happy to be here.
Thanks for the supportive comments everyone. I couldn't have done it without this group - there is no doubt the community support on here has been critical for me. I'm someone who needs to check in!
@YinxFed absolutely - I have made the change! Thanks
@kdblpn Here are some ideas:
Rhythm of Your Heart - Marianas Trench
Run for Cover - The Killers
PDA - Scott Helman
Catch My Disease - Ben Lee
Black Widow - Iggy Azalea
Young Blood - The Naked and Famous
Shake It - Metro Station
Ok, yesterday's exercise was:
7398 steps, 15 minute Peloton ride, 19 minutes yoga
We were supposed to go hiking today but I'm on call for work and our system isn't working so my morning duties are delayed. We'll see what we get up to!5 -

My fitbit keeps telling me I have been swimming. I do swim class with the baby on Saturdays, but I don't wear my fitbit, so I am not sure what causes that. It is not at times thats I am working out, so it is somethign else. I hope they fix app soon!4 -
I hope everyone has had a good weekend
@eggfreak Gardener's World definitely has a cult following in the UK!
@PlaneMonkey I'm struggling with the blank page in the Android app too. As somebody who works in software, I can confirm that they did not test this properly! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no avail.
@ashleycarole86 do you prefer the steps weekly or daily?

Did the 10K yesterday and came home with a chunky medal! I'm a bit surprised because it was a challenging run; probably no more elevation gain than a typical run for us but a lot of up and down rather than long stretches of recovery. I was worn out by the time we got home though, as it was a mile each way to the car (we got the monorail later on!) and a lot of walking around the theme park; it's easy to forget how big it is. I went in with the aim of running the whole race and not only did I manage that, but I got a personal best for a 10k too, by 6 minutes if I'm reading Strava correctly, so really pleased.
Today I've been fairly lazy - I ended up staying up late, so had a lie in this morning, we went out for lunch (just to Greggs bakery), then for an hour's walk, then to McDonalds for tea as we had a call with family and would've been eating too late otherwise. McD was planned during the week so I just swapped it, but this may skew tomorrow's weigh in.
I worked late on Friday so haven't been yet, but I plan to go feed the ducks tomorrow. I might get up with OH and go before work, which would be a nice start to the day.5 -
@PlaneMonkey sorry for the delayed response. What a small world. I lived on Pigeon Lake, further south than Bobcaygeon in a small town called Omemee (birthplace of Neil Young). I worked for the municipality of Kawartha Lakes which includes 'Caygeon. Pigeon is a decent lake up in the north where your family is, but is a weedy disaster where I was - made more complicated by the planting of wild rice by the local indigenous community - they've made the south end of the lake virtually unnavigable. I miss the fishing - Alberta doesn't have bass or muskie, but that's about it. I'm also shocked by how much homes are going for on the water. I bought mine in 2013 for $406K and it would sell for over a million now and totally not worth it.1
-
@Terytha apologies for the delayed response. Fellow O & G from YYC? Small world! Have you joined the local CSSE chapter? I've belonged for a few years but have yet to attend a meeting, but would really like to - just not big on walking in to a room of strangers. I hear it's great networking for those in our industry.3

Where'd that day go? Lots of beautiful sunshine today, and I had a good long walk in the woods. Energy is slowly coming back.
Steps were pretty bad again this week, but today was good and hopefully going to continue the same!

@jessicakrall8 has agreed to step up to the role of Moderator! She has been a fantastic captain for Team Trimstones for a long time, and we are very glad to have her join us. Jessica will be taking on the Group Challenges, as well as the ongoing work to keep the teams running smoothly, our members getting the most out of Fat 2 Fit, and the Captains and Motivators getting all the support they need. She will still be at the helm of the Trimstones, and I am sure they will agree that she is worth sharing with the entire Group. Welcome!

@ashleycarole86 steps and stuff
Mon Pilates 16 minutes, 32 minute stationary bike
T, W, F 16 minutes Pilates
Thursday 20 minutes Pilates
I had a NSV yesterday. Put on a size 14 jeans I had in my drawer and the felt great.

@DD265 Congrats on your PB - that's great. In terms of step reporting, daily or weekly is just fine with me - your preference!
@jugar I can hear your excitement for getting back to your normal exercise program in all your posts. I haven't been sick yet since I started so while I'm sorry you're feeling crappy it's been a great example - I like to think I'll feel the same as you (excited to get back at it, taking it easy but trying to fit in what I feel up to). Glad you got to enjoy the woods today
@micki48 That's a great NSV - thanks for sharing. You have been doing so well! How are things with your granddaughter going lately?
Didn't get out for that hike but had a nice walk instead and then did my first Peloton Bike Bootcamp (combo of biking and strength). It was fun. We also got our dumbbell rack set up so the home gym is coming together nicely.
Exercise was 10829 steps, 17 minutes of biking and 13 minutes full body bodyweight
Weekend is over already???? Man oh man4 -
@micki48 Great NSV! I think slipping into a smaller size is one of the best feelings ever. Congrats 👏
@eggfreak Love the flowers and the show sounds like it will be nice for those cold days.
@jugar glad you are perking up and getting outside.
@DD265 Congrats on your run today! Sounds like all of your work is paying off. You are so dedicated!
@ashleycarole86 So excited for you to hit the 100 lbs gone milestone 🙌
@Pearl4686 I think that is a complicated topic that has a lot of gray area. A visitor could come to my house and tell me sugar is bad and they wouldn't necessarily be wrong but it's not a black and white answer. All joints are going to wear out eventually. Listening to your body is obviously important. As long as you approach your workouts with common sense and give yourself recovery time there is no reason why you can't continue to enjoy running. If you're still worried don't just take your visitors word, do your own research and check in with a doctor. You can always work with a physical therapist to ensure you are doing everything you can to enjoy running as long as possible.3 -
Today was an inside day as we are having a lot of wind. Tomorrow we are supposed to have 60 mph winds! Definitely picking up takeout tomorrow incase we don't have power when I get home. If we are out for a few days I will set up the outdoor oven. Fingers crossed I don't have to.
Today I was in calories and I was able to do a 1 hour weight lifting workout.
Yesterday was also good for calories. I took portraits of my kids Saturday so I got my cardio in hiking around with the camera trying out a few spots. I think I got some good pictures but I haven't even started editing. I might send them off to be edited professionally.
Friday was my free day and I don't log. I know I was way over because I ended up at Starbucks twice. I did a ton of house cleaning so that's good.
@ashleycarole86 I agree! The weekend flew by 🥺3 -
