Happy Thursday!
All of our weigh-ins are caught up through today (thanks, everyone!) and the greens and reds are close to tied! Let's hope the Friday group can help tip it more towards the green! Even if that doesn't happen, everyone who has already weighed in for the week is working on next week's weigh-in. See if you can sneak into the green if you were not there this week, and stay there if you were. Make your plan and, as @eggfreak said, the logging and measuring really work!

@MoStacy I know what you mean about an unsupportive partner. Makes a difficult journey even more difficult. I believe mine feels as though I will leave him if I lose to much weight. He might wanna start acting right or he will be correct in that assumption. @ashleycarole86 It is so wonderful that your husband is on the journey with you. It must be great having someone that wants to eat the same kinds of things you do and workout and walk together! I have to cook my boyfriends food (usually something I would like to have) and then cook mine (the stuff I am allowed to have). But I will not let him stop me!!!
Feeling good today. Still waiting to get released to go back to work. I did start setting an alarm on my Fitbit to ensure I get 250 steps every hour. Even if I have to stand up and walk in place, at least I am moving some every hour.
To all of those dealing with health issues with their parents, especially with dementia, just keep reminding yourself that no matter how hard it is on you, imagine how scary it is for them. I wish you all the best of luck. I know how hard it is.

I have been cruising around on the MFP thread for group leaders and have some new info that might help us get used to this!
To add bold or
strikethroughor italics Choose (highlight) the word after you write it, and the options appear. To quote or other stuff, click on the Paragraph sign there to the left of what you are writing, and a few options appear. I'm not sure how they all work yet...
But reminders for Friday can happen! Heads up, Friday folks!

I'm still not able to access the community group on my phone app. I'm getting here by the website and that's a pain for me. I'm going to check if an update is available for the app, but if that's not it, I really hope this gets sorted soon.
Thanks again everyone for the support. Dad is in a psych ward now and will be seen by a new Dr on Monday to start changing up his medications to find one that will ease his delusions and along with that, hopefully his fears. He's in good spirits whenever I visit but my mother isn't his favorite person at the moment as she bears the brunt of his unhappiness with the situation. They still adore each other even after being together 50 years so that bond will see them through. Here's a photo I took earlier this week. They're cuties!
Off to hockey!

@PlaneMonkey I love that picture! It is so sweet. Glad your dad is getting the attention he needs. Have fun at hockey!
@kdblpn My husband was not excited when I started losing weight either. I think he was terrified of being hungry as he does not need to lose weight. I had tried more extreme charges in the past. This time I made smaller changes. I cooked familiar meals but I would change little things like switching to leaner cuts of meat or changing the side dish. I might eat a smaller portion of the main dish and load up more on the lighter side dish. I also made it clear that I wanted to be healthy so we could have a long healthy life together. I have learned to resist lots of snacks. He can fit those calories in and I can't and that's okay. Keep at it and you will find a system that works. Another thing that helped was we would plan ahead for a specific dinner or late night snack. Then I would work the rest of my calories around that meal. We eat completely different than in the beginning but it took time and practice.

Evening all!
@PlaneMonkey A lovely pic indeed, and I can see the adoration. What a difficult situation, I can't imagine how either of them feels (or you) but my heart truly goes out to you and I'm glad your parents have the love that they do. Hope hockey was a nice distraction and that you tore it up on the ice.
@bowens1973 has been trying to get online to respond to you about his lake house but he, like you, (and me) can't get the Community page to function on the app - he is not that committed to finding a workaround so I agree that I hope that's fixed soon.
@kdblpn I definitely do feel very lucky to have such a supportive partner in regards to this journey and the fact we've been on it together almost all of the way has made it much easier. I actually got started 1-2 months before him. The first years we were together was when I gained to my highest ever weight (and him too) - we both love to eat for all occasions and emotions and he dotes on me with food as he's an amazing cook so we just really celebrated falling in love by eating. He also was pre-hip replacement surgery and couldn't hardly walk a block so we were living a very sedentary lifestyle. Brad is the main cook in our house and before I started there was no end to how much butter was going into the pan, how large the meals would be, etc. so I actually thought it was going to be a super hard transition. When I started he was supportive but it was hard at times, especially with him cooking and me insisting I had to track. But, he respected my boundaries and then once he started for himself the whole thing got a lot easier. We basically have weighed within 10 pounds most of this journey and that also makes it pretty easy as we kinda walk the same path in a lot of ways. He had never really dieted or exercised much before though so the lifestyle is way newer to him than it is to me - I've been on this rollercoaster many times over the years but I can honestly say for the first time in my life I know the changes are lasting and permanent and I'm so thankful for that. So all that to say, it must be very hard to have an adversarial partner at home when it comes to this topic - it certainly wouldn't make it easier.
Ok, had a lot to say on that I guess. Today was great in the exercise department, we drove into Calgary and did a walk at a great park and just enjoyed the sun.
11/11 exercise:
11684 steps +18 mins yoga + 17 minutes strength (arms)

Hi everyone. My logging is bad today. Don’t even remember the things I ate. Water consumption is still not awesome. I did start the day with 20 minutes of Pilates. Don’t think I hit my step goal today. Tired. My family left around 9pm, then we ran out to grocery shop.
@PlaneMonkey Hugs to you and all the others dealing with parents who have dementia. Your parents are cuties.

I'll call yesterday a 'cheat' day and stopped logging halfway through. Back to weighing and logging TODAY!

Hello all.
I have not managed to log on for a few days and still can only log in online and the new look needs getting used to. I missed a lot of messages but had a quick skim through. Sounds like some of you are dealing with stressful personal stuff- so sending best wishes to all of you, I hope things resolve soon.
I think it was @eggfreak who mentioned logging. I have gone back to logging religiously after a very long break of just 'being sensible' and it has made a difference, particularly in discovering the calorie content of what are perceived as 'healthy' foods such as nuts and fruit. It won't stop me eating them, but it helps to be conscious of quantities as I can so easily mindlessly work my way through large amounts.
I only ran once this week, and still very slow but I will keep at it. I also squeezed in a quick workout on an old rowing machine I picked up. It's a now sport for me and I am enjoying it.
Have a lovely weekend

Happy Friday!
My weigh in was not too happy today, but this week of inactivity is certainly the culprit. I'm off to see the doctor this morning to see if we can find a way to get rid of this lingering whatever it is - I'll be glad to see it go! I want my energy back!
Logging - a good reminder. All this week I have been eating rather carelessly, and yesterday I made the mistake of making some pumpkin ice cream. My son had left a bottle of heavy cream here - he had used some and did not need the rest - so I had to, right? It is soooo good. Luckily my taller half likes it too. I hope he will get a bit greedy... So today, back to logging carefully so that next Friday will be better.
I love the photo of your parents, @PlaneMonkey They truly are adorable. I'm sure this is really tough on both of them, but hopefully the new meds will calm things down. I'm heading back down to see my dad again in early December - I get to take him to the audiologist to see if anything can be done to improve his hearing aids and make it easier for him to actually hear what is going on. That might help him, and it will certainly help all of those around him. Should be interesting.
OK - off I go. I hope they fix the access problem soon 🙄

Oh wow. I finally logged in on my internet on my phone because the app is still not fixed! Lots of catching up to do. It sounds like some of you have had some rough times. I'm so sorry! I hope next week goes better!

@bonnie_red would like to not weigh in this week! She's going through some work/life stuff (and also doesn't want to deal with the app situation 😅). Hopefully that's okay!

Its seems like I have been running around all week - but the only real exercise I've managed is tennis and a run in the forest yesterday. Loved them both. Overall a good and productive week.
@PlaneMonkey your parents look lovely. Hope everyone can enjoy that kind of love
@conleywoods thanks for sharing your progress and sunset photos. Both are awesome!6 -
So I am finally on the Waistaways Team page via my mobile, but it's been such a palava!
I can't access the Community area from my phone. This successful login has only been possible through accessing the MFP Web from my phone.
I sincerely hope that the techies sort it out soon. It works fine on my laptop (and presumably on my desktop too, although I haven't tested it yet.
Anyway, in other news, we had a lovely lunch today with my sister in law and her husband. But now I feel absolutely stuffed. Water for me for the rest of the night I think!
Enjoy the rest of your day, Friends!3 -
Friday peeps! Your weigh-ins are great! So inspired today!
I started my day with exercise and got out at lunch for my usual walk which is good because my work day kicked my butt. So just a quick check-in to say hi and wish everyone a good weekend. Back later to report on my final exercise numbers.2 -

absolutely no problem! The app stuff does not help, but I know that the work/life stuff is more important. Hugs to her!2 -
Friday peeps are awesome indeed! Some gorgeous green with small splashes of red and black just to set things in perspective. I have contributed to the red, but hopefully will be back up to speed soon! The doc was very reassuring this morning - I just have an extremely happy virus, no sign of bacterial infections, but it will take a bit more time to finish sloping off into oblivion. Meanwhile, frequent saline sinus rinses, lots of vitamin C, plenty of rest. I have still been too flattened to do much exercise, but feel like it is getting closer.
Gorgeous losses from @eggfreak @happimess01 @kellie_erin @Micki48
Well done this week!!
My son is here visiting, so I'm heading back to see if he has already eaten up all the treats he brought...5 -
I am really not liking the MFP update. I can get in but it is not easy. I have to go to groups, scroll to F2F main page, scroll down to Waistaways then click that to get in. I want my star ⭐️ back!!1

They're coming, according to their "Outstanding Bugs" thread - I am a bit disturbed that they have chosen such an ambiguous name for the thread, but I guess we can hope that they will take care of the problems fairly soon...
If you're on a computer, just keep a tab open with the Waistaways team chat on it. Never close it! Just refresh every time you come on. Even on my phone browser I can do that, but not on the MFP app.1 -
@micki48 Great job on doing the things and seeing a drop on the scale! You are putting the work in even when you're busy babysitting. It's paying off for sure.
@happimess01 Your progress is really amazing. For me personally, I had a good 10 months of really consistent weight loss in the beginning and then it slowed down. You have had an impressive streak which means you are working very hard as you approach your goal. Proud of you. This is a hard journey and you are killing it!
@eggfreak Woo-hoo! I know logging is annoying and gets old but so is gaining. Good for you for counting those calories and having a great weigh in!
@Pearl4686 Nicely done this week. Glad your woosh showed up even if it was a week later than you wanted!
@Steph1498 Nice work this week! Sounds like some fun exercise this week for you.
@kellie_erin Hooray for you too. Really nice work this week. Glad you made it into the chat.
@jugar Tell your cold it isn't welcome anymore! You poor dear 😢 I hope you turn the corner on this thing soon.5 -
Morning all!
Yesterday's exercise:
15 mins yoga, 20 minutes Peloton, 7025 steps
I am getting REALLY close to hitting the 100 pounds lost mark. Kinda makes me emotional, I know there were many times over the years I knew I had 100+ pounds to lose and it just seemed so impossible.
Some of my exercise steps today will come in the form of cleaning, have a short Peloton ride planned as well, a bit of yoga, and a dog walk. The weather has continued to stay nice which makes the walking much easier so I'll continue to enjoy it while I can.4 -

WOW. I am always impressed by the dedication and plain old grit that it takes to lose this much weight. SO many people give up - you are an inspiration to anyone who keeps looking at how far the goal is, at how impossible it feels. Get the tiara ready! You'll be wearing it soon6 -
@ashleycarole86 It is a huge milestone, you should be so proud of yourself. You are a rockstar. Most never make it there. sad but true. Also, you better be planning to get yourself something to celebrate the milestone?
@conleywoods thank you so much. I have reduced my cardio to zero but have increased lifting to 3, sometimes 4 sessions per week. I have been losing 4 lbs per month on average since July. It is painfully slow but I am getting a lot of NSVs so that keeps me motivated. Just the other day, I raised my hand and saw 4 ribs pop out. Holy moly!
@jugar love your optimism. Hope you make full recovery soon and go back to exercising.
@steph1498 so cool that you play tennis? Is it taxing on your joints and legs, do you feel it afterwards? I play Badminton which is a lot easier on the joints and I still need 1-2 days to recover.
@kellie_erin great loss this week! We almost weigh the same amount right now, nice!
@micki48 great loss this week! Killing it!
@pearl4686 congrats on the woosh! Must have been a great feeling, time to celebrate

Everyone did great this week. While there were a few people in the red, it was a minimal amount. That is awesome. Started treadmill walking this week. Made the perfect playlist and I am enjoying it so far. I am thinking about doing the step challenge next month. Right now I am concentrating on 5000 steps per day.
My boyfriend is out of town for the weekend so it's just me and my puppy. I did get a very large homework assignment done today and am planning on starting next weeks assignment tomorrow. I am hoping to make a casino trip next weekend. I need a little relaxation.
Just curious...does anyone have any songs I can add to my walking playlist? I like all kinds of music but love to walk to upbeat songs....a few that I love are Shake it for me by Luke Bryan, I look good by Calie Boy, anything by Eminem.

Here we are, Saturday evening, and I'm starting to feel like there is some energy coming back! I took a walk in the woods today, and then a sauna - I did not last too long, but it felt great. We have a funny little building that is super insulated, furnished with a wood/entry room, and the sauna itself with the wood stove and benches. My husband built it before building the house we now live in - our daughter was just over a year old when he started building the house, but the sauna was built first, ready for sore and cranky guys who were working hard to build the house. It is next to the pond, so we can splash a bit, or just walk around in the cold air. Feels great. The virus is leaving. I think that regular exercise can come back soon!! It will be great to grab those kettlebells, do some Pilates, and sweat on the exercise bike. I figure it will take at least a week to get back to normal, but it's coming!
Thanks for all the good wishes and wonderful energy, as always. You are all wonderful.
Because of the MFP re-design, I fear there will be a few late weigh-ins. Here is everyone who is due, but do not worry! No penalties this week.

@kdblpn an upbeat song I like while working out is I love you like a love song by Selena Gomez.
I'm usually a country music fan or 90s dance/hip hop but I heard that song during a Crossfit/Bootcamp session once and it was super catchy with positive energy2 -
This blank page situation on the Android app is really getting to me. Have they posted any timeline on when they expect to get it fixed? The only reason I pay for the premium version of MFP is for access to this community group. That's it.
This is getting a tad ridiculous.3
