HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Username
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Hi all and welcome to the Downsizers November team chat! My name is Linda and I am one of the team captains. My counterpart is the amazing Megan aka @Megan_smartiepants1970.
I am originally from Newfoundland but I live in Southwestern Ontario. I am 57 years old, married, retired due to a disability and have 3 adult children. I also have 3 beautiful granddaughters and will have another one come early November. Hayley and Norah live in Ontario but little Stella lives in Scotland. I am planning a trip there in February. My granddaughters are one of my reasons for trying to get healthy. I want to see them grow up and maybe meet some great grandchildren. I have two very fat cats, Nick and Lady.
I started my weight loss journey in February 2019 and have been with F2F ever since. I have had a couple of ups and downs since starting but I have never given up. I have a bad back and neuropathy so my exercise is limited to swimming and workouts in the pool. I have been bouncing around onderland for awhile so this month I want to establish myself in the 190’s.

Hi all. Good evening. Hopefully all of you are as happy as I am that this week is over.
My name is roger. I will introduce myself later
Check in for 10/29:
Steps - 11934
Calories - 1587 or so. It's 15 and something.
Exercise - 4 hours at Sea World San Diego.
@lindamtuck2018 we do have year passes. My daughter, alyssa, got one that gave her the occasional free guest, but she hadn't received any lately. I got a basic pass that is good thru next year.
We had a lot of new experiences today, most good. My big one is that I tried to ride a roller coaster but didn't know if I fit. I barely fit, but I fit. I rode 3 coasters! It was the first time in over 25 years I have fit into a ride.
The main bad one was my daughter collapsed. She just got a henna and went down. She is ok, but is a bit scraped up and bruised. The paramedics came and checked her out. Blood sugar, pulse, b/p all good. We think it was the heat and not drinking enough.8 -

Thought I would repost the fun story I referred to on Thursday, here in November's thread.

I have a fun story I'll share tomorrow. I promise I'm not (don't mean to anyway) leaving you hanging. It has been a long, long day, and I'm ready to hit the hay. Hubs just asked me "who are you talking to?" Um, the computer...😳🤣
Yesterday (Thursday), I almost forgot to get my pick-up order from the grocery store. I was already home, so I really wanted to change into sweats before heading out again. Anyway, I decided to keep my nice clothes on. My truck was still warm, so I didn't wear a jacket. It was snowing out, but not cold. I'm in the store and all of a sudden, I hear, "Lee?"
I turn around and see someone I knew, I knew but couldn't place... She said, "It's Sarah." I realized in that instant it was my Junior High School dance teacher. Yes, JH...😳 She just stared, then said "you haven't changed at all." "Are you still an athlete?" I could tell she was doing the math to guess my age... Anyway, I was gracious enough to say, "no, I workout a lot, and eat reasonably well."
In JH I took modern dance, was a sprinter, did the long jump, and high jump. I neglected to tell her that over the past year I've lost 50 lbs. and am continuing to get into better and better shape... She of course looked as tall and lithe as she ever had. I did tell her that. It absolutely made my day!! Trust me, I'm a few Klicks past JH!!😆🤣🤣7 -

1. Hello everyone. My name is Stephanie even though I go by Shorty (my son is 6'5" and my husband is 6'3" and I barely come in at 5'2" standing on my tippy toes hence the nickname). I just turned 45 in October and love spending time with my boys and my 3 dogs. I am an avid hiker and love doing endurance hikes.
2. I am on this journey to get my health back and to feel better. What pushed me to really start my journey is when I had a tumor removed from my breast. I wanted to make sure I was healthy to face what was coming.
3. My triggers are stress and boredom. When stress happens I read everyone's post on here or go for a walk. The boredom I am working on. I just started reading new history books and I am working on a writing project with my husband. We want to tell my father's story about the Vietnam War.
4. I am not really into the diets so much as just trying to stay within my calories and making sure I exercise.
5. I love hiking. If I could be on the trail year round I would
6. I am still trying to hit under 150. I would love to be close to 140 by the end of the month. Second is to drink more water
7. The amazing support that everyone gives.3 -
Good evening all. Happy saturday night. Please have a safe Halloween.
Check In for 10/30:
Steps - 3385
Calories - 1625
Exercise - not today. Thigh very sore from roller coasters.3 -

I'm 43 year old female live in South Australia with my partner and 4 bulldogs. I've started this journey several times but most recently passed a gallstone which was the worst pain of my life and I get regular migraines so I know pain. Scan a couple of days ago says there are two more lurking in there.
Triggers are stress eating and just the fact that I love crap food, comfort eating.
Don't have a favourite diet just trying to lower calories and especially fat for the gallbladder.
Haven't got a workout routine yet.
Goals this month is to rewrite my eating habits.
Just hoping for general support from the group.

@cormierannie
Another fellow nighttime eating and stress eater. You have great strategies to deal with situations that may cause over eating.
@shortyjmorgan1
Nice ways to deal with stress eating. Your writing project sounds amazing. It’s nice to know about peoples nicknames/username.
@rwood566
Even though your thigh is sore that is an awesome NSV fitting on a roller coaster. Also very brave as I won’t go on them as I cry I am so scared. 😂
@Pippin20206
Nice loss! I like your goal of rewriting your eating habits. With me I am still evolving them even after 2 years.
@Bluetail6
Good for you taking a day off. Your body most likely needed it.
@jayenguk
Sometimes we need to take a few days to get back on track. Just try to be mindful of what you are eating.

Welcome to the team!

Let’s get to know each other!
1. Tell us a little about yourself? I am 21. From SC but have been residing in Manhattan for some time now.
2. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start? It’s hard for me to find my why, besides losing weight. I realize that’s sort of the problem with not being able to stay motivated for long. Of course, I also think of overall health, too.
3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them? My triggers are stress
4. Do you have a favourite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb? I have no particular diet. I am vegetarian and I always make sure to get my protein in first. At least 100g. I fast majority of the day. From 6pm to morning, so 16hrs usually. I try to keep refined carbs very low. Any naturally occurring carbs I eat before a workout usually and after. My only carb craving is cake, which I have no problem eating once a week or every other week.
5. What is your favourite way to workout? I love the treadmill and I like stair climbing. I own a treadmill so I workout in home.
6. What are some of your goals this month? My November goals are to lose as much as I can. I feel like I’m losing out on so many things because of my size.
7. What do you expect to gain from the team? I’m hoping to gain some encouragement and just some support as I don’t have a support system.

Let’s get to know each other!
1. Tell us a little about yourself?
I'm a 52 father of 4 grown (and growing) kids, married for 25 years, residing in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. I've been a workaholic, insomniac for most of my life but I've been very fortunate to have a great family, rewarding career and reasonably good health.
2. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
Overweight and wanting to enjoy retirement, see my kids grow up and start families of their own.
3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
Too much dedication to work seems to be an excuse to not exercise enough.
4. Do you have a favorite diet you go by?
I try to keep net calories (after exercise) under 2,000 / day
5. What is your favorite way to workout?
It was a rowing machine but the double hernia put that to a stop and now that I'm recovered I just need to get motivated to get back on it!
6. What are some of your goals this month?
Lose 3 lbs
7. What do you expect to gain from the team?
Encouragement and camaraderie.
