Hello everyone! Welcome to the new and current members! My name is Amber! I’ve been on this team for almost a year now. I absolutely love everyone on this team! Everyone is so supportive.
My goals for this month:
🔹drink at least 8 cups of water a day
🔹log everything regardless if I’m going over or not. I have a bad habit of not logging once I go over.
🔹report daily for the accountability posting!
What’s everyone goals? 😊4 -
Hello Everyone!
Looking forward to the Jan. Challenge. Still figuring out my way around the BLC group page.

Hi everyone, I haven't been on mfp for a while, so may need to relearn some things.

@lawyerette your starting weight will be whatever your last weigh in was in the December thread.
Happy New Year! 🎉🍾🎊🥳3 -
Happy New Year to all. Welcome new members. I'm Dee, and I've been on this team for just a few months. I'm Canadian expat (I live in Mexico).
New years eve was a personal success for me. I had an engaging and interesting evening. I normally overindulge in every way possible, and never remember the night. This year I reached out to the group for some of your tips to enjoying a party setting without overindulging...whatever that might mean to you. I got some great advice from @DaffyGirl88 I avoided my usual habits. It did help that the evening was a few english speaking couples, and a Mexican family of 8. Some were bilingual and some only spoke one language or the other, and some (me included) are learning each other's language. The mexican family put on a feast of barbq turkey, poblano pepper spaghetti noodles, secret grandmas recipe mole sauce for the noodles, and some delicious flavored type of chutney for the turkey. We enjoyed each other's company and learned to feel more comfortable speaking, or attempting to speak in each others language. The evening was a success. I did not overindulge in food or wine, although I did not keep within my calorie limits. I watched the new year roll in with fireworks across the beachfront sky.
I woke up this morning with a awesome feeling that this will be THE YEAR! The BEST EVER! Lets all believe it and Live your best life every day. Happy Happy New Year:)4 -

Please can you roll my weight over to January.
I'm finding navigating here really difficult. Everytime I think I've understood how-to get here iend up having to do multiple steps.
I hope it gets easier in time. I used to look at these posts daily. Now I'm lucky to get here to make a post once a week.
I have bookmarked it.3 -
Hello team TBBT and a warm welcome to our newcomers!!
Within the main weight loss challenge we have another optional, but highly recommended, challenge. It is called the Mini Ultimate Accountability Challenge, (Mini Challenge), or the MUAC. It is based on another MFP challenge group by the same name, the Ultimate Accountability Challenge or the UAC.
The way it works is simple:
1. Log everything you eat that has calories in MFP.
2. Stay inside your allotted daily calorie budget.
3. Do at least 20 minutes of activity daily. This could be anything that gets you off the couch and being active: run, walk, cycle, swim, gardening, housework, yoga, gym, etc.
4. Report each day on this thread (something to the effect of logged food: yes, under calories: yes, exercise: yes, and a brief description is nice)
****When you post your accountability, please put the date, or the day of the week to which you are referring. We are all in different time zones, and some people post in the evening for that day, and others post the next morning, so it gets confusing trying to decipher without a day or date. Thanks!!!*****
You get one free pass day a week (went over calories, could not log food, rest day, etc). At the end of the week, if you have managed to be "accountable" (three yes's) for at least 6 of 7 days, you will be recognized on this thread as being in the Winner's Circle!
This strategy works for weight loss because it is based on calories in and calories out.
What's great about this challenge is that it works for everyone, as long as you are honest with yourself. There are no dietary restrictions, so you can eat whatever you like, and follow whatever plan you like. Your own daily calorie budget is set by you and MFP and you choose your own exercise and intensity of exercise! Plus it is a practice that can be carried beyond weight loss into maintenance! If you are having a bad week, a new week and a fresh start is just around the corner!
Consistency and new habits have been shown to be the keys to long term successful weight loss. Why not make the Mini Ultimate Accountability Challenge your new habit, that you do consistently?!
The January Challenge and the Mini Ultimate Accountability Challenge starts on Sunday, January 2nd.5 -
Hi, I'm Lisa, 55, and I live in a small town in southwestern Ontario Canada with my husband of 30 years. I work VERY part time in the office of the family farm supply business. We have two grown sons; the oldest is single and lives in town, the youngest has a serious girlfriend and lives in Prague, Czech Republic. He has been there for 15 months. We were able to go see him for 8 days in October and he and his girlfriend are here in Canada right now until the 17th of January. Needless to say, my focus will not be on MFP much before then, I am afraid. However, I have gained a tremendous amount of holiday weight and I have chronic foot pain that I fear is related, so I need to get my act together!!

The "new year new me" might be cliche but it's in fact a good kind of motivation knowing that you can start over if you lost track or continue with the good work you've been doing in the previous year. So I hope we all can achieve our goals in 2022!5 -

I completely agree! That’s one of the things that’s keeping me motivated right now. I keep telling myself it’s a fresh year and its gonna be great! I think this year will be amazing for all of us to crush our goals 😊💪🏻

Hi Team!
I am new here, but have done BLC on Sparkpeople. I am still confused about what thread to post my accountability on. I believe
this is a discussion thread, not a logging thread.
Anyway, yesterday I celebrated New Years and today am back on track. We joined Jenny Craig in Nov. and it helped me avaid
gaining weight over the holidays.

I am new here, but have done BLC on Sparkpeople. I don’t have much left to lose, but the last pounds are really tough to shed.
I am a retired librarian from northern Ohio and love the 4 seasons, our great Metroparks, and our beautiful national park just 20 minutes
away. So lots of places to walk outside or cross country ski.

@redhatsenior this is a one stop shop thread for everything The Big Butt Theory (TBBT) related. That includes daily accountability posts, weekly weigh ins, random thoughts, complaining about one's husband/kids, and/or general venting. 😁
If you're struggling and need support? Post here. If you have a question or are looking for suggestions or recommendations? Post here. If you have a non-scale victory (NSV)? Definitely post here. If you're bored and want to chat? Post here. This is a very supportive group of ladies. 🥰
This is a safe place we use to support each other, whether or not it's health and fitness related. What happens on MFP stays on MFP. 😊
I'm Sue by the way 🙋♀️. I'll get around to posting my intro tomorrow when I'm at my desk. In the meantime, if you have any other questions just tag me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. With the new forum format I still miss things sometimes. 😕
Welcome to TBBT, we're glad you joined us.4 -

Daily log for Jan 1
Log; yes
under; hell no...hahaha I was so behaved new years eve...but last night a dear friend and her hubby showed up unannounced. So, of course we had entertained them. We made mussels in garlic wine butter sauce and of course multigrain baguette so soak up the yumminess. Then steak, baked potatoes and asparagus. OOh and it was new years day, and here many of our friends have their family visiting during the holidays. So, we went for brunch with a friend and her brother and his family. We planned to go to a place on the beach, but all the staff was hung over so they were delaying were opening an hour later...haha so we went to a little known hole in the wall...but this day the whole world was there. So brunch took a few hours and no one ate what they ordered..but it's all lovely. The owners are awesome and they were doing the best they could...Heck we live in Mexico so this is how it goes...just go with it.
Dee here, Hi all. Let's live our goals....lets breathe and be what we imagine. No one makes tomorrow happen. We choose our own reality. So, here we go...I'm 52, Canadian expat, retired a few years back. I lived in Central America for a few years, and now living in Mexico. Learning the language is a constant...one day I'll be proficient but I'm a slow, passive learner so that will be way in the future. We bought a lot (piece of land) and are building a house. We are super involved in the process, and have a great team. We also built a few houses in central america...so we are very familiar with the process. I've always been active physically, love to trail run, it's my happy place. However, my new reality is I'm dealing with a spinal column issue that has changed my routine. I'm in this group to maintain my weight and lower it very slowly. Less weight even a few pounds is less that my body has to carry. My exercise is restorative yin yoga, and mobility pilates. Running is not an option. It's all good though....I have accepted my new reality and am enthralled with this new year. There is a whole future of unwritten tomorrows. What will I choose to do tomorrow?
