HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Username:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you take a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for longer. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month and year begin!!

Along with our weekly weigh-ins, we REALLY encourage our team members to participate in regular check-ins. We are a community, and we are stronger together! Finally, let's get to know each other! Please share your name, where you live, and what brought you here to The Fat 2 Fit Challenge Group. If you have specific goals for this year, please share those as well. We are here to support and cheer you on!
I’ll go ahead with my introduction
As I said above, my name is Teresa! I’m 55, live in Georgia with my incredible husband, my mom, and our fur baby Maggie Mae. I work for my small church as their ministry assistant, financial secretary, and janitress. I also volunteer with our children’s ministries and I co-lead our women’s ministry. So yeah, I am the church lady!
I’ve been striving for a healthy weight for most of my life and am determined to never give up on my dream of getting to a healthy goal weight and staying there! I’m a huge fan of Marty Kendall of Optimising Nutrition and plan to follow his approach to eating by doing a high protein, low carb, and moderate fat diet. I also enjoy working out using Beachbody on Demand.
As your captain, I promise to remain available and supportive! This group means so much to me as does the success of each one of you. Please feel free to add me as a friend and message me any time.
OK…your turn to share!

Whoa, this is way early, totally threw me for a loop! I'm Kathy, one of the group motivators along with @trooworld . I'm 50 and live with my two cats in Northern CA in a little town between Folsom and Sacramento. I've been part of this group for almost three years, we're growing old together! I'll get super sentimental and sappy about it so let me just continue. I have numerous health issues, the most challenging CRPS from the chest down (basically nerve damage, it's an overreaction of the nervous system to what is usually physical trauma) then have had multiple back surgeries. I try to work out every day and am currently doing chair cardio, weights, stretching, then a yoga challenge I just picked back up but this time I'm modifying it so I don't get injured again! I have a home garden, help with the food bank farm, then with a local charity in town doing various events. I love reading, watching new shows, and obviously gardening! I'm always checking out music too. Let's have a great February gang!1

Quick Sunday Pop in- topics from Jan thread....
@Katmary71 - What you said about putting up with Asher made me smile
@FushiaKat - I was wondering where you were!
@tammymccrady6278 - you have such cute grands and pups! Thanks for posting.
@trooworld - did you get that workout in?
Welcome new members!
Dog is doing fine. It's been a cold and rainy week in FL. Haven't been out walking much. Had a hard freeze last night. This morning Hubs and I decided to bite the bullet and get out there. We really enjoyed being out in the sunshine! Happy Sunday all! Will do my intro tomorrow.

We have completed another month, folks! We really knocked it out of the park in January - let's try to keep up the momentum for February! Click the links below to see our results from the last week of January and the month overall.
Here's a sneak peak of how your team did...

Woo Congrats Team!!
I'm having a leisurely Sunday for the most part. I took a long hot bath with a Bath Bomb, and I got so relaxed I couldn't stand up very well to get out of the bath. I'm doing some housework and cooking loaded baked potatoes. 🥔
I loved seeing the picture of the kids and pup's omg so cute! I'll have to take pictures of all my kitties and share them.
Just wanted to pop in and say Hi!! 😁 I updated the Habit Tracker for February, I really liked doing that last month.
Have a great Sunday all! Kat0 -
I'm sorry for not posting any weights. We've had a sudden death in the family and I've been trying to be there for my wife. When I get back on track I'll post my weight.4

Greetings!
It's been a pretty day here in Georgia! I got the opportunity to spend time with my great nieces who I affectionately call the "Sweet Potatoes." We had a pizza party and played checkers, tic tac to, and sequence. This was such a blessing for me. I ate 2 pieces of pizza but it was worth it.
I will start my February goal of working on things I eat. I am encouraged. Let's go get it people!4 -
Hi gang! I had a good day, it was in the 60s today so I did some outside seed starting with lettuce, carrots, and a few other greens. Some of the cold weather seeds are starting and cucumbers and snap peas are already peeking out on the grow table, yeah! I do stand there cheering at each one, LOL. I'm not doing yoga today as my upper back is acting up, she's the queen of planks and downward dogs, I'm modifying planks but may have to lay off all the downward dogs too. Tomorrow's my OB/GYN appt, the doctor filling in for mine really was pushing a hysterectomy last time so I'm a little nervous, I'll see what this doctor recommends since my blood pressure makes hormones a little risky. I'd rather stay on hormones until menopause but if my only option is a hysterectomy or dealing with increased monthly pain for however many years it may be time to get it over with. Not much else going on, did my workout minus yoga and ate well, Asher's next to me purring on the couch and we're watching a documentary on Janet Jackson that's pretty good on A&E.. Have a great Monday!4

@FushiaKat
Yes, i agree. Here is my confession .... i thought today would count in January's figures (new member). As I'd already lost 7.8lb in January i had an easy week!!! Oops.
Back on it today, lots of exercise planned this week... aiming for another 8lb in february
Total loss since August 2021 48lb.5 -
Hi, I'm Lisa. I live in NE Florida with my husband and pup Mojo. We've been married for 30 years. We have a 22 year old son and a 20 year old daughter who attend the same university a few hours away. I've struggled with my weight since the Freshman 15, and have added and lost pounds several times throughout the years. I've participated in this group for quite awhile now and it's such a blessing to me.5

@19shmoo69 - I'm sorry to hear about the death in your family. Will be thinking of you!1

My name is Jennifer and I just turned 48. I live in Southwest Michigan. I’m a single mom of 3 adult children. Only the youngest still lives at home. She’s about to turn 22 and is Bipolar 2, so this time of year is very difficult between her moods and my depression. My apologies for not checking in during January other than posting my weights. I’m so ready to quit, but I love reading all your posts and I feel a sense of loss when I think about leaving the group. I would really miss all of you. Give me a few days and hopefully I’ll feel better.9

Whoa!! I had a very hard time figuring out where to get to a page that would have a “Leave a Comment”. Now I hope I’ll figure out how to get back! If anyone can help with this, I really appreciate it! I’ve never been in a challenge.

Live in Montana on a cattle ranch. Very isolated with the closest neighbor being 5 miles away and I never see. Rarely leave the ranch so looking for accountability in addition to “friends”.
Am 62 with two grown kids, 3 grandkids, 2 Corgis and lots of cattle!
Currently recovery from a second knee replacement so my activity level is limited until I heal. Need to lose at least 30 lbs. Have been off and on MFP, or should say, have had the app for years and but have yet to get serious with it. So I look forward to this challenge! Thank You for adding me!4 -
@19shmoo69 I’m so sorry for the loss of your family members. Prayers for you all!
@askewcr What a great day you had with your “sweet potatoes!” Yes, let’s get those goals together and have a great month!
@Katmary71 I hope you have a good doctor’s appointment! I used to be horrible at planks but I’ve gotten better but still modify quite often.
@amioc Welcome to the team! The end of the month and new month chat threads can get confusing. You can post an intro in both or just one. I look forward to getting to know you.
@trooworld What a nice day you had yesterday! I’m jealous of your California weather. What’s hubby cooking?
@vegan4lyfe2012 Please don’t leave and please don’t quit on yourself. I know what it feels like to have to begin again. I’m doing it after gaining 20 lbs since October. Almost every day I feel like I have to regroup and start again. Tomorrow is a new month and another chance to make some positive changes. Are you with me? I sure hope so!
@nfll406 Up in the top left corner of this page next to our team name you will see a small flag. Click the flag and that will let you be notified in the small bell up by your profile picture at the very top right of the page. I always click the bell to be taken to this group, which I find to be much easier than other ways. I hope that helps! We are so happy to have you here. Living on a cattle ranch in Montana sounds very interesting and I look forward to hearing more about it. Corgis are the cutest!!
Hi Team! Today was a good day. I went grocery shopping and then came home to do my workout. I restarted Beachbody LIIFT4 and had forgotten how hard it is from day one. But I love it and I have vowed to do all eight weeks with my BOD team. Hoping to see some real changes and muscle gains. I’m getting serious about having a great February and even set up the Habit Tracker, which I will use! I am also going to post here to help keep me accountable. So please feel free to call me out if you see me not posting or doing what I said I would.
2022 Word: INTENTIONAL
Workout/Treadmill-Day one, LIIFT4, chest & triceps

It was such a pretty day here in Georgia. I made it to the gym and my ankle/heel did not hurt at all.
It has been a great day. One thing I do for my inspiration is put a heart sticker o my calendar each day I go to the gym. I have 15 stickers on my calendar this month as compared to previous months of 0. That feels good!!
Tomorrow is a brand new month. I will be more intentional about what I eat. One goal is to get more veggies and fruit in. I would also like to get more protein in.
Let's go get it in February!

Hi Team,
My new freezer arrived today and it's the perfect size for us, not too big. I checked it earlier and it's at temp so tomorrow I will do a little bit of shopping for stuff to put in the freezer.
I had a good day, my pain level was good today, so I vacuumed a lot and folded a load of laundry and as I'm writing this, I just remembered I put another load into wash. It's kind of difficult to do the laundry sometimes. My husband built me this really nice laundry room, but he's using it as his personal closet so there's no room to fold anything and not much room to hang stuff up either. I wind up folding clothes on our bed. He really needs to clean out his closet.
I didn't get rid of one thing today; I just was so busy I forgot. And I actually added a freezer and a new extension cord for the freezer. I think I need a new matt to put in front of the laundry room door, so we don't trip over the extension cord, since my husband decided to switch the location. It's on the cat deck but against the wall next to the kitchen window.
Welcome new members, we are glad to have you. You are welcome to use the Fit2Fat February Habit Tracker. Just click the link above (make sure you are signed into Google first) when it opens the spreadsheet, click our team's name at the bottom, add your name and the habits you want to track for the month. I hope I explained this correctly, if not please correct me. Last month was my first time using it and I really liked doing it. I just joined this team last month.1 -
Happy Tuesday!
Today is my dog's vet appt.... He has a potentially serious gut issue and he's 12.5. He's acting normal. Not sure what's going to happen at this appt. My vet scared the heck out of me regarding how serious this could be.
I'm struggling with a habit I haven't conquered yet. Eating while cooking dinner. Even though I usually have a snack around 4 pm, I seem to be starving when I'm cooking around 5 pm. In the past, allowing myself a snack plate of veggie while cooking has helped, so I will try that tonight.
I'm getting back on the horse with exercise- it's been a bit sketchy lately. I'm still wanting to see a 6 in my weight, which would mean I've dropped down to the next set of 10 pounds. Didn't make it in Jan, sure hoping I can do it in Feb.

@FushiaKat I do what I call my “laundry walk”. I take my clothes from the drier one piece at a time and fold it on the way to where it belongs then do a fast walk back usually pumping my arms. It raises my heart rate as much as a normal brisk walk with the added bonus of having my laundry folded and put away when I’m finished. Clear a path first and crank up some workout tunes
@Cornanda I have the same issue while making dinner. I find carrot slices are helpful since they require a good amount of chewing and if I don’t want to eat at all I’ll put on a mask so I don’t put anything in my mouth without thinking lol
January turned out to be a crappy month for me. I usually like the start of a new year, new goals, etc. but this year I can’t seem to get myself motivated. Maybe I need to set small goals by the week or by the day. Any suggestions?1
