Hi Everyone, Iโm at the airport waiting for my flight back to the Washington, DC area. My younger son came home to vote. It was a very short visit but it was still wonderful to see him. Today, I helped him drive back to campus. He drove the 8 or 9 hours from SC on his own and stayed overnight on Monday. I enjoyed spending time with him while driving back today. He dropped me off at the NC airport and drove the last few hours back to campus by himself. I had to wait a long time at the airport because I wasnโt sure what time weโd arrive here and wanted to be sure I had a lot of โbufferโ time in case we ran into traffic or some other delay.
I got some work done this morning before leaving for the trip, and I took a work call from the road, so I didnโt fall too far behind on tasks. We have a worker coming to the house in the morning to renovate our bathrooms so I was also scrambling to remove everything from the bathroom this morning. I didnโt want to clean out the space while my son was visiting so his quick turnaround return made it slightly more rushed but I was able to finish quickly. There wasnโt too much stuff but still more than we need. Iโm not putting anything back into the new bathroom unless Iโm sure weโll use it. This will help me with the decluttering I need to do.
My flight lands about midnight so I hope we donโt have any delays and I can fall asleep quickly once I get home. Best wishes everyone!4 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. Sorry I have been a bit absent. My mom was visiting from Sat until Tue. On Saturday we walked into town to the giftshop. They were very much into the Christmas spirit already and I found some nice postcards. I also bought very fluffy purple housesocks made from wool, my mom got a pink pair. A while back, my electric flyswatter broke in half, so I got a replacement for that too. In the evening we ate out at a restaurant. I had a vegan chili wrap and a cheesecake dessert, both very tasty. Saturday was the only day I couldn't track my food, because restaurants here do not give information about calories or anything like that.
Sunday was very windy and rainy, so we started a jigsaw. It gets dark pretty early now, so we didn't finish it the same day. In the evening we did a lot of Rummikub. Monday we finished the puzzle. I also had some free slots on postcrossing, so I wrote 3 postcards (to Germany, Russia and France). While it was still windy, the weather was slightly better so we went for a short walk. First to the mailbox in town and then around the farm fields. I was starting to get a bit tired at this point, so we relaxed and did more Rummikub in the evening. I was feeling pretty bad around 21:00 so we went to bed early. Tuesday one more card I sent arrived, freeing up another slot, so I wrote another postcard; to Malaysia this time. My mom got picked up around 12:00, so I went to the mailbox after she left. The rest of the day wasn't anything interesting and I was very tired so I went to bed at 19:40 last night. I somehow pinched a nerve under my shoulderblade at night. I woke up with quite a bit of pain which made sleeping more a bit hard. I could only sleep on my left side. I am not really someone who is sensitive to pain, but this is pretty annoying. Almost anytime I use my right arm it hurts, so hopefully it goes away soon.
Energy prices have been going up and up for the past year. They are doing several things to combat this. I already got a lot of extra money because I fall in the low income group. In 2023 they are also implementing a price ceiling for gas and electricity, regardless of your contract. But because that isn't in place yet for November and December, they are giving everyone 190 euros for both of those months. I pay 66 a month, so I got an extra 124 euros I didn't need for my energy. I got myself some new loose tea and a bunch of stamps. The price for stamps is going up in 2023, so I figured it would be nice to get a good amount now that they are still cheaper. The rest of the money will go into my savings account.
That is all for now, happy Wednesday everyone

@Pupowl sounds like you had a busy time with your mom. It's nice to have some extra unexpected cash.
@LaurieWrobo I hope you had a wonderful birthday!3 -
@Armygirlarmyof1 sorry of the loss of your beloved dog.โค๏ธ
@Pupowl sounds like you enjoyed having your Mum over. The postcards sound fun, good idea to use your unexpected extra funds for stamps before the price rise.
@LaurieWrobo birthdays are for celebrating,I'm sure you will soon be back on track.
@PatriceFitnessPal how nice that you got time to spend some quality time with your youngest son.Eventhough it meant more flights & travelling for you.Good on him for travelling to vote.I always encourage my boys to vote.It is a shame but I know not many of my female friends ever vote.I always say women went on hunger strike & tied themselves to railings to get your right to vote.Dont get me started haha.5 -

This is my weekly maintenance weigh-in report.
Name: PatriceFitnessPal
Weigh-in Day: Thursday
PW: 128
CW: 128.3
SW: 168
LTD: 40 pounds
My target range is 120-130 pounds so Iโm getting a bit too close to the top end. Iโm going to make a more specific plan to move closer to 125 pounds over the next few months. My goal is to lose about one pound per month while continuing to build my strength, increase my flexibility, and improve my balance. I hope everyone is having a good week.

I'm weighing in one day early because I'm going out to dinner with friends tonight and in case the food is salty, I want to capture the progress I made this week. I'm still continuing my November streak of logging everything and closing out my food tracker every day and getting to bed at a reasonable time. It's given me more energy to get up early and exercise for 30-40mins every morning this week on top of my regular dog walks. My next target is to get under 195 and I'm really aiming/hoping to see 193-194 on the scale by the end of the month.
Hope you are all keeping well!
Happy birthday @LaurieWrobo !

Thank you so much - we find out results tomorrow morning - it would be the best bday present to hear Dr say he is in remission - he will never be "cured" from pancreatic cancer3 -

It's all that Halloween candy and being super sick. I've been sick since Halloween. All 3 of my kids were sick too last week. But they got better within a few days. I am just starting to be able to breathe through my nose but still congested and have a horrible cough.2 -
Hello MFPeeps. Hows the weather where you are? We got about 6 inches of snow, thank goodness I got my snow tires on in time. Tons of wrecks around, but my vehicals have been great. Its a bust week in my house 3 of our household birthdays are this week ugh. I hate birthday week, lol, even more so that it falls right between Halloween and Thanksgiving.
I brought some of my workout equipment indoors so that I dont have to trek through all the snow and heat up the garage ect. Been doing my spon bike a couple days a week and some free weights along with my active job. Now my only issue is I need to stop snacking, ugh.2 -

@angmarie28 it's warm here today 15 C (59 F) but raining. We drop drastically this weekend though with snow expected on Sunday.
I hear you with the heating of the garage during winter. I've been finding time to workout during the afternoon when I'm done work and before my daughter gets. This has been great for me, but it's not going to work during the winter. I'll have to exercise at a time that works for my husband too, I can't justify heating the garage at 2 different times, and he works in the afternoon.

Iโm so sorry about your pup. My 12 year olden is not in great health so Iโm fearful he will cross sooner than Iโm ready. Hugs to you. Dogs own a piece of our hearts.

@PatriceFitnessPal Kudos to you for getting your son to vote! My daughter is in law school and is very politically active. If my son had registered, he could have voted in the district in Colorado where the count is 700 votes apart. You read that right. 700. Not 7000 or 70000. 700. At one point Wednesday it was 30 votes. The race still hasnโt been called.2
