Hello All!
I'm trying to get to NYC today on a short trip with my husband. So far, nothing has gone smoothly. Our 1:30 flight is 5 hours delayed already, and yesterday was 3 hours late. We stopped in Denver overnight and the hotel had a Peloton! YEA!!! I was able to get in my first ride of the year! My bike at the house in Colorado is having technical difficulties. The seat is sliding down. I contacted customer service and they sent me a part for the handlebars. So, on the upside, I have time to call them again!
@Kading55 I highly recommend training for a marathon! I really enjoy them! But if it seems daunting, go for a half-marathon first. I'm doing the Houston half next week with my daughter.
My goals this year are to get to a healthy BMI (only about 4 pounds to go, hoping to get there by the end of January) and then below 150. I've got two half-marathons planned and thinking of a full in October... I also want to read at least one book a month! I spend too much time reading bits and pieces of stories on the internet. Finally, I want to drink less alcohol, more dry days than not. It is a deal-killer for weight loss for me.

I work full time at our local YMCA, which makes me feel horrible that I look and feel the way that I do. I have two boys that are 8 &10 that keep me on my toes and busy all the time. I have PCOS and I have issues with food due to issues that stem from my childhood. I feel like I just keep losing and gaining the same weight over and over again and I am tired of it. I want to set a better example for my kids and be around as long as possible for them.8 -

Daily Check-in
Another successful day sticking within my allowance. I was visiting family who bought a takeaway, but I opted for the grilled chicken salad again, with a sugar free drink. Also, instead of mindlessly eating chocolate and crisps (chips in the US), I put some sliced apple, red grapes and little cheese cubes in a bowl to snack on.
One thing I really need to work on is my sleep - I’m getting nowhere near enough.

Good morning Shape Shifters. The good news is that I do not have anything unhealthy in the house anymore. The bad news is that it all ended up in my belly yesterday. 1600 of my 1900 total calories was just pure sugary garbage. I did a 40 minute workout in the evening to try to salvage the day a little bit even though I was planning a rest day. I do not 100% trust the calories my fitbit gives me because the number always seems a bit high to me. I got 1322 extra calories yesterday and with me eating 1900, I have 600 left over. I think that is a big enough surplus to assume I was still in a deficit. If it was less than 400, I probably wouldn't have given myself a checkmark in the habit tracker. Either way, it was a very crappy food day and I am not happy with myself.
I also wrote two postcards for postcrossing, going to Germany and Finland. I usually walk to the mailbox, but the weather was really bad, so I decided to bike instead. Bought some new peanuts for the garden birds, they go through them very quickly. Otherwise my day was pretty boring. Happy Thursday everyone6 -

One day won’t make a difference in the long run anyway. It’s the next decision that counts, and the next one, and the one after that 😉. You made a great decision by exercising to burn off some of the extra food energy.

I weigh myself most mornings and some days were slightly higher than this so I’m just glad I ended with a loss. My winter conditioning class started again following a break for the holidays so it feels good to be returning to my regular routine.

Hello everyone, I hope everyone has a good new years. I have worked pretty much every day for the past 2 weeks, and work late a lot too. But I have been doing good at planning my meals, or at least better. I'm still struggling with late night snacking which is crazy because I broke that habit a long time ago and was successful at keeping that have it away for years, and now it's back and I'm struggling to break it again.
I did work out yesterday, but had to take it easy because I did something to my shoulder/arm at work and it hurt to do much lifting with it so I mainly stuck to legs and core I did 20 minutes on the exercise bike.5 -

Yukie_OP - Happy New Year team!, coming into January a bit late from a month's break.
Brief Intro/Bio: Mom & Wife living in California. I work full time in an office setting plus currently studying (outside of work hrs) for professional designations. But to summarize: I'm sitting for extended periods of time & to combat this, i take a 15-min walk at lunch time + an evening walk ~ 2-3 miles *weather permitting.
January's Health Goals:- Check-in with the group (and update weight) at least 1X a week
- Logging meals & staying under my daily caloric targets
- Steps count 6,000 daily/average
- Mobility stretches (at least once/day, 5min)
* Would like to change my weigh-in date to Fridays

Hi all & welcome to New members to the team.@koakslim it's nice to have someone else on the team from the UK.I live in Manchester with my husband & 2 sons 27 & 29.I'm 62 & have been on MFP on & off for a few years & on this group for about 2 years I think ? I like to keep active & love my local gym especially the Dance Fit class.I like to use u tube to try new dance workouts usually in my kitchen.I am at the top end of my BMI & don't have alot of weight to lose but find it hard to lose & maintain.I have enjoyed this group & the support & friendships I've made.

I’m really surprising myself by staying within my calories. It’s only day 9 or 10 of restarting MFP, and I thought I would struggle getting back into the swing of things. I must admit that I haven’t been out walking much, so I need to work on that.
I’m excited for my first official weigh-in tomorrow (Fri). If the numbers on the scales this week are anything to go by, then I’ll be very happy.

Hi Y'all:
Sorry that I haven't been posting much this week, other than my standard notes...not sure why I'm having such trouble but the holidays were hard, I'm still missing Hazel who passed away a month ago and things are stressful at work and very busy, so when I get home, I just walk and then want to kinda clam up and just relax.
I'm really trying to be perky again, but it's just not that simple...
The last few days though I've walked several times around the building at work and take a few extra "move around" breaks. Really feeling strong with my walking. Also, not doing too bad on the calorie front either. Just wish I could get my emotions in check. One thing at a time, I guess.
If anyone has a suggestion for the next group challenge, which will start over the weekend, I'd appreciate your feedback...thanks in advance.

Don't worry about us Jessica! You are still doing a lot for this group, just by managing the household. I am sure everyone here understands you need time to grief. So please give yourself that time. I know it can be really hard to (want to) connect with people when you feel very down and that is fine! If it helps you to relax and read at the end of the day, then do that. Different things work for different people. We will still be here when you feel better, and of course we are also here when you feel bad.6 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. Not a very interesting day here. My arm was bothering me a bit which is probably from too much computer use the past few weeks. So I spent some more time on my puzzle. Tinus was very 'helpful' too. I did my workout in the evening, had a shower and went to bed. Because Wednesday's workout was extra, I have done one 3 days in a row now. I can feel it and I am looking forward to doing nothing today. Happy Friday everyone

Hello! Finally made it to NYC last night! I left the house at noon Tuesday! So far, have gotten in all my workouts, but who knows about calories…
Bought some Voodoo Donuts in the Denver airport for breakfast this morning. Left them on the plane and had to go back to get them! Had one this morning (no way it was only 280 calories!!!!) Glad I’m excused from my weigh in today. It would not be pretty. Heading home tomorrow.
