Had a better week than the last few weeks. It's been busy at work recently, and now they added on 3 lunch meetings for the next 3 work days, plus the one I had today. Lunch is my time! I really dislike lunch meetings. Although it's good in a way that makes me bring lunch from home and not eat out!4 -
@adrimango I hope you feel better soon! And @AshenMoon and anyone else who is ill. Take good care of yourselves.
Quick reminder for the Thursday folks! I'll catch up with news tomorrow....

I'm pleased with my loss; I wasn't sure what the scales would show with my being full of cold and constantly hungry. We go do Dubai on the 20th March (so just over 4 weeks) and I would love to be under 90kg by then - but I have to remind myself that weight loss is a by-product of my healthy-eating journey and not the focus.
I managed a 30 minute walk on the treadmill last night, reading a book. It hadn't occurred to me before to set the font on my Kindle to large, but it worked really well and was actually a better distraction than a podcast - the 30 minutes flew by. I'll probably do the same tonight, unless my friend wants to go for a walk; not sure I'm quite up to a run again yet although I can mostly breathe again now.
Today I am drinking orange and blueberry flavoured water; slice an orange and put that plus a small handful of blueberries into a jug with 1L water. Let it sit for 30+ minutes to pick up the flavour and then drink. I'm not quite as keen on lemon and lime; that can be a bit sharp. We're having a chilli for tea, and I think I'll have tuna and cucumber sandwiches for lunch.5 -
I signed up for the Savage Race. I can't wait! I've done one in the past. I started working the upper body at the gym. 7 Miles - 20 obstacles. Lots of mud!

@dd265 nice loss! Reading on the treadmill sounds like a great way to pass time.
@ashleycarole86 It sounds like toupee having an amazing time. Happy Birthday to Brad!
@lauren989 yuck! 3 lunch meetings seems like a lot.
Mabel threw up all over bed last night. My husband can not handle puke and was not helpful and as I gave her a bath, changed the bedding, which wa sustained with red berries, and spot cleaned the stained carpet. I am exhausted but since I have been off multiple times the past two weeks, I am going to try to feed her breakfast and pray she makes it to daycare.7 -

I did this to myself. I haven't been eating any sugar and I went sugar crazy on valentines. It has been a down hill slide since the weekend. Time to buckle down. Packed a salad for lunch today 😋4 -
Happy Thursday, I hope!
@KellyBgetsfit hoo boy, can I relate. I nicknamed my daughter the Empress of Emesis when she was young - anything made her throw up, I swear. And the "I can't handle" excuse from hubbies is seriously overused. You deserve a restful day with full childcare in exchange - he can handle that, I'm sure
Happy 50th @bowens1973 , you young thing, you. Enjoy every minute.

Weigh in Day: THURSDAY

Things have finally started moving, phew! I've been consistent with going to the gym most days, which has helped my mood more than anything else. I think what's really making the difference is the amount of water I'm drinking (about 4 litres a day), and also cutting back on carbs, in favour of protein. These two things have really improved my digestion and water retention.
I got my thyroid TSH levels tested on Tuesday, just got the results online this afternoon. I'm at 4.09, which is just below the 4.20 abnormal level stated on the NHS website (a normal range is 0.3-4.20 apparently) so to me this means I have a sluggish metabolism and weightloss may be tricky but possible. I will have to accept feeling fatigued, low, cold etc and I am lucky that it's not more severe. Something to keep an eye on in the future. I will call the doctors tomorrow just to check that they don't want me to make an appointment.2 -

Six weeks to Cancun and I would like to be under 200 by then. we’ll see, I am very good at sabotaging myself when I get close to a goal 😞.
I am very happy with this weeks weigh in as I had a heavy weekend in Memphis and it lasted longer than I planned.5 -

So happy to finally be back under 219! This is the lowest Ive been postpartum! Only 15lb away from prepreggo weight now 🤣5 -
Happy almost-weekend!
I hope Mabel survived her day at daycare (and your hubby is still with us too ) @KellyBgetsfit
We're very similar weights (I'm a pound or two higher) and similar short term goals @LoraineGB - we've got this!
Last night my friend messaged and we walked the 45mins to the shopping outlet, had coffee (water for me as I don't drink hot drinks) and I got a cherry blondie I'd been craving which I wrapped up to bring home for my after dinner snack. We picked up some sandwiches for tea and OH drove us back. I wasn't feeling up for a run, but was definitely glad of the walk. I'd also been for a short walk at lunch time so got plenty of fresh air yesterday.
It's Friday but I'm not working at all today. Our sisters (mine and OH's) were meant to be visiting this weekend but they've both been ill. It would've been lovely to see them - but a totally free weekend together is something of a rarity, and it means I don't feel the need to cram everything into today which was the original plan. I got up at 5.30am for my rescheduled PT session (arms will be sore over the weekend as we were working on the high pull to figure out a tidier bar position in the snatch) then came home, had breakfast and decided to get back into bed as I was cold. Got up again at 12.30, and it has been a long time since I just properly rested like that. I feel better for it.
Now I'm doing the admin-chores like the meal plan and shopping list. We'll do the shopping, and it's a bit wild out there weather wise so I will probably walk on the treadmill later with a book because I was surprised by how much I enjoyed doing it that way.4 -
I'm sorry I've been such a rotten Waistaway this month. Another major health crisis in our family (my brother)has arisen- there's so much stress and worry and sleepless nights. I had a conscious binge one evening (potato chips, icecream and wine) but a few days later I made a conscious decision to not take this stress out on my body with eating junk/too much - managed to have salads for lunch every day this week. Will try to continue with saying 'no' every day to some temptation. And I will actively rejoin the conversation here in March for sure. Stay healthy everyone, best you can!7

I wasn’t as diligent this week but for all the right reasons. We went to a Super Bowl party where I had a few treats with friends, and we closed on our house on Monday so we celebrated with some champagne and Valentine’s treats. 😊
We’re moving next weekend, so this week will be busy with packing, and I have a huge deliverable for a work project that will also be very time consuming. My plan is to plan my workouts in advance so that I can still get my exercise in, pack, and then get ready to be in the new house.6 -

Some beautiful green happening today!
@eggfreak @39flavours @DD265 and @DianaGetsFit512 such good progress! And @LoraineGB holding firm, @wishfuljune doing amazingly considering all the upheaval right about now. So good to have those signs that team consciousness is helpful
I'm not doing as well this week - there's definitely some eat-creep happening. I have not been logging for a while, and this feeling that food is what I need to do now is always the first sign that I had better get back to tracking again. Exercise has been OK, if not brilliant, but food needs some reining in. Back at it tomorrow. I go through these phases - no matter how many times it has cycled, it still is a cycle. I love stopping logging and how well it works for a while, but then it doesn't and I like getting back to logging. Silly, isn't it?
Time to add in the Saturday people! Ready or not, here they come:

Sorry I’ve been MIA this week. I feel like it’s month after month of crazy. This year (almost) since our move has been the most unsettled in my life. But we are nearing the finish of the living with my daughter’s family part. They settle on their new home next week. That puts lots of things in motion for us. We were getting ready to list our North Carolina home for sale and my son was laid off from his job. He has been living at our home since we moved. Now selling is on pause because I can’t make my son homeless. Good news he has some job leads. So hopefully he’ll be ok to move shortly.
My car wouldn’t start this week and is in the shop. The repair is $4,000 and I don’t have it back yet. (Just got a call. It’s all done!)
Met with my dietitian again yesterday. We are focusing on more water, less salt, and more potassium. Blood pressure focus as well as weight loss. I haven’t been great with logging because Life. But I guess I’m keeping it sort of under control because I keep losing a little bit.
Today, OH and I are going to four Open Houses. 🏡🏡🏡🏡
Hope all is well with everyone. I will try to catch up on all the missed posts soon.6 -

Hey everyone,
It has been a few weeks since I've posted and I wanted to check-in and say THANK YOU for the many birthday wishes that I received earlier this week as I joined the Half Century Club. I have literally had the best 3 weeks of my life - spending 24/7 with my absolute best friend @ashleycarole86 in what I consider the second most beautiful country in the world, Costa Rica (Im looking at you Canada - my first love), has been a dream come true!
Over the last few weeks we've seen countless amazing things like spending a day fishing and being lucky enough to land a Marlin (biggest fight of my life) and getting playfully chased by a pod of around 100 spinner dolphins who were close enough that we could have touched them. They put on an arial show that we could have watched for hours. Another day we were nose-to-nose with a wild baby Sloth that was quite happy to let us watch him eat his lunch. We stared in to the crater of a volcano and saw numerous packs of white face, howler and spider monkeys.
During the 3 weeks I knew I would gain considerable weight - haven't checked since late January but based on clothing I brought for the trip, I wouldn't be surprised if the number is in the 30's. However, through YOUR help over the past 2 years, I know I have the skills and commitment to get back where I want/need to be (I better as I have two Gran Fondos this year). I knew I could just enjoy myself and will kick back in to gear when we get home tomorrow.
We stayed at the same place that I did 8 years ago and so much has changed. Although I was in my early 40's, I was in such a different place. I was pre hip surgery and my mobility prevented me from doing much. I took the resort shuttles from my room to the restaurants or pool every chance I could. My excursions were limited to things that didn't require much. This time I only took the shuttle at check-in so that we knew where our room was and to deal with our bags (we will take it again tomorrow at check-out) and most significantly, we purposely looked for excursions with a physical component - lots of hiking! 10K steps was not hard to get on the vast majority of days. Imagine the weight gain had we not been so physical? Yikes!
Anyway, I just wanted to share how truly fortunate I feel in all aspects of my life, including the relationships that I have with this group. I will try to be more active so that your kind words of encouragement are responded to personally, but know that I see them all and they are so appreciated. You are my people - you get it. We are all very different, but we share that common bond of understanding. Thanks for being there.

I've got a trip in about 6 weeks too. Let's support one another. I also tend to self sabatoge at the end. How are you setting yourself up for success for the coming week? I've out 3 trips to the gym on my calendar for next week.3 -
I'm sitting under the heat at the salon getting a new 'do. Decided to go much shorter, felt ready for a change. The scale is creeping back down but not yet back to last Sundays weigh-in. Too much salt this week as I lived on soup and crackers largely with this cold. I am off from work 3 days next week and am so glad to have some downtime. I've got a salt cave session booked for Mon a massage for Fri and plan to get to the gym for a record 3 visits. I feel like I'm getting back to myself in so many ways right now. Hope y'all are having a good weekend!5

I’m in! I have to tell you I felt a slight twinge of guilt that I don’t have an action plan for this week and then I remembered I have done a menu plan and shopped for supplies for the week already. I haven’t any activity planned so I will match your 3 trips to the gym and will post here when completed.
