Good morning π hope everyone had a great holiday. We're surviving here but am looking forward to getting back to normal. I'm stuffed. Maybe not stuffed so much as bloated, because I didn't eat a lot yesterday but ate differently. Rather than a spinach and eggbeaters omelet my nephew made everyone scrambled eggs with cheese and leftover stuffing. That sort of thing, so a lot more carbs and sodium than usual. Not to mention more alcohol π€.1

@murdog3t I hear you about the carbs, I don't go as low as you do but I am still suffering from overload. You've been doing great with your other goals and logging. π
I believe the leftovers and snacks are gone and what's left my husband and son can finish. My son leaves tomorrow so my house isn't quite back to normal yet. He wasn't supposed to be here but came at the last minute so it was a nice surprise .
Have a great day everyone!1 -
Thank you for reaching out, @DaffyGirl88. It prompted me to post this.
I guess I have disappeared again. This time, though, it is completely different. The day after I drove to my dadβs to take him to an appointment and he wasnβt doing well, I ended up driving back to his place and taking him in to the ER. (We didnβt send him by ambulance because we could not be sure the ambulance would send him to our hospital of choice, and the options are night and day). He has been in the hospital ever since, and with the exception of last Saturday, I have been there every day. They think he has a rare form of lung cancer that is filling his lungs with mucous. (He has been on oxygen since late summer). He will not be going home again; we are searching out palliative care options and trying to find one a bit closer to me. Currently my drive is about 75 minutes of highway driving one way. Before my dad went into the hospital I had been in the zone and counting calories and losing weight for 2 1/2 weeks. The amount of food I am consuming right now is not a lot, especially when I am at the hospital with him. However what I am choosing is healthy options. I am not logging, but still losing. This morning I weighed 195.2. My husband brought Christmas cookies home from the grocery store yesterday and I am not even tempted at the moment.
I hope all of you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! And I hope everyone keeps striving to reach their goals. Don't give up! I haven't; I'll be back someday, just not sure when that will be.

God morning, I missed a couple of days tracking while putting up Christmas decorations. :-/ One good thing about not being in the office is that I'm not subjected to the never-ending platters of goodies that appear this time of year.2

Hello everyone... sorry for being MIA. I needed a mental break from pretty much everything. The only break I didnt take was from this little guy here.
I have been following along and wish everyone well going into the Holidays.
@murdog3t you inspire me with your goals and consistancy.
@DaffyGirl88. Love how you have such a positive attitude and keep us together!
@HASWLRS Lisa...hang in there. It is so hard to go through these things with your parents. I have been there. Those long rides and long days/nights are tough. Hoping you can find what works for you and your dad. Prayers for you both.
@Tomsgal1985 glad you are back here and hoping I can get back on track soon.
I do have one thing to ask you all... if any of you are grandparents... HOW did you choose a name?? I am so so trying but for now my daughter calls me "noname" one kiddo laid Gram Gram out there and one laid Gigi out there. I like both but just cant seem to settle on one. We know it needs to happen so please tell me how to choose the perfect name π€£ yes.. hours have been spent scanning lists of names (and still no decision)

@sandkp What a beautiful grandbaby! I was fine with Grandma but ended up with Grammie, the other grandmother chose GiGi. There's a funny video out there with a group of older women in a jewelry store picking out the name for one of them. I'm not sure when this became a thing.
You could aways just let it happen organically. My husband was good with Grandpa (the other side chose Granddaddy which is a mouthful and too difficult to say - if you ask me LOL). When our first grandson was just learning to talk Grandpa was a bridge too far and it just came out as Pa. So my husband is forevermore known as Pa. It was one of Sawyer's few words for several months. Tell your daughter to relax, there's no rush. The perfect name will come when it comes.1
