@jessicakrall8 - You're getting a lot done during your time at home. It's a comforting feeling when the car is tuned and ready for a trip. Recently, I was on my way out and my car door wouldn't open because my battery was dead. I used my husband's car at the last minute and then charged it when I got home. I was fortunate to have another car available to use while my husband worked from home. He often has lunch with clients or friends doing similar work, so I was glad he didn't need the car in the morning.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation time from work!3 -

I am very happy with this. It feels good to finally see some real results on the scale. I've been quite consistent in my diet and exercise, so I've been trying to be patient to see the scale catch up.9 -
Good Morning,

Just trying out the spoiler and adding a camping sign to see if I got it right! Call it a test lol6 -
Yikes! I’ve neglected recording my food since Friday and I know this is how the upward slide starts. It also rained the past two days so I didn’t get my normal steps in. This morning I gave myself a pep talk—you can do this, start recording today and don’t worry about the last few days, and if it’s cold and wet, online exercise videos are always an option too. Recharging and continuing to move forward!

Good morning Shape Shifters. Here is the card for today.
Today’s quote prompted me to reflect on an ‘aha’ moment 💡I had after reading a comment on MFP. Someone noted how amazing our bodies are and how much they allow us to do. They challenged other MFP users to stop criticizing their bodies; and, instead, they encouraged us to recognize and appreciate simple everyday opportunities to live and explore the world. I took their advice to think about the things my body allowed me to do, such as walk in the park, breathe fresh air, enjoy a sunset, etc.
Then, I decided to treat my body better because it deserved it. It was doing so much and I wanted to show my appreciation. It sounds a little silly, but once I accepted my body as ‘enough,’ it helped me stop self-sabotaging myself by reinforcing a negative cycle of disappointment and helplessness. Recently, I read an article about the messages society sends about who is ‘good enough’ or ‘worthy’ or ‘successful.’ The main point the author makes is —
“‘You are enough’ means that there is nothing you need to be deemed as valuable and worthwhile. Consider when you were a baby. Were you enough then? Well of course you were. You were you, a unique expression of life, a one-of-a-kind precious heirloom of the universe, the likes of which no one will ever see again once you are gone.”
I work with groups that often feel as though they don’t ‘belong’ or their life isn’t valued by others (e.g., children with disabilities, living in poverty, whose families find it difficult to access and navigate health, mental health, and education systems). So, it resonated with me to think about why it can be so difficult to appreciate people for their basic humanity more. For example, I am always impressed at how well babies who are born blind - or deaf or with a developmental delay - accentuate their other senses so well, and it’s hard to image someone would shun them as they are finding ways to connect and communicate in creative ways. We can be so resilient if our efforts are celebrated and supported!
Anyway, here’s a link to the full article if you are interested — https://medium.com/swlh/what-does-you-are-enough-mean-e166d47b0673
I think there are times when each of us feels like an outsider who doesn’t quite fit in, but I hope we can each examine our own assumptions about who is enough. Do we value some lives more than others? Are we good enough?

Good morning all
Just a quick check-in before weigh-in tomorrow. The weather here in the UK has been lovely recently, and it’s making me want to get out and walk. My average daily steps are usually around 5,000, but I have been hitting 10,000 lately, which I’m happy about!
I was very surprised to see that my Fitbit recorded over 15,000 steps on Monday, and 40 minutes on an “elliptical trainer”, when I hadn’t done that at all. I then realised the issue - I had went for a nap and sat my Fitbit on the bedside table next to the fan, and the vibration from the fan registered as 40 minutes on an elliptical machine Sadly I had to delete that data lol.
I hope you are all keeping well x7 -

In other news, I'm going to see my love in a little bit. Vacay started yesterday and I don't go back to work for 10 days. I'm so excited8 -
@kodakslim - Wow! 🤩 Good for you. That’s quite an increase in steps! I’m glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying the nice weather and walking more outdoors. Keep up the good work!
Do you have to take any classes over the summer or do you have an extended holiday?
Enjoy!3 -

@Armygirlarmyof1 - Have a wonderful trip!
I hope you can find an apartment soon so you can enjoy more time together without the commute. Have fun!3 -
We lost Buddy Tuesday during the night. It was a pretty rough day yesterday. Even though it was expected, it was still difficult.
Below are a couple of pictures. He loved to coach me on the treadmill.

I exercised a lot more this week but there were also a few days when I exceeded my daily calorie intake in a BIG way. Last Friday, I had a meeting and the lunch included a couple of cookies I wouldn’t usually have, and then I went to a graduation party and over indulged. I’m fairly confident that this past week is an anomaly - and my macro nutrients were in decent balance - but I sometimes worry about the social get-togethers that seem to lead to more alcohol and calories.
I’m glad we’re interacting more since the height of pandemic isolation, but I’ll need to build better eating habits during work meetings and time with friends and family. Hope all is well with you, Shape Shifters!4 -

@SavageMrsMoose I am SO sorry for the loss of your sweet Buddy...he was a beautiful baby. I hope your memories of happier times with him throughout the many years, will soon bring you peace and a smile to your face. I truly believe that heaven is filled with all things that make us happy and includes our fur babies...you'll see him again someday. **big hugs**

On a somewhat related note, I am about halfway to my running goal for the month of June (I have done 39 out of 75 miles). I have built up to some 5 mile runs, which I am VERY happy with. I love feeling stronger and in better shape. My resting heart rate has gone from about 74 to 56 (according to my Fitbit, so take the accuracy of the numbers how you feel fit, but I'm definitely improving).
I am now going to take a few days off to prepare for my hike on Saturday, but I'm looking forward to meeting my goal for the month. Part of me thought it was a little too optimistic, but I'm now thinking I'm going to make it.7 -

OMG😞😪 so sorry - big hugs💕💕💕4 -
I’m adding my heartfelt condolences for your loss @SavageMrsMoose! I must have been posting my weigh-in at the same time you uploaded your beautiful pictures of Buddy but I just saw the news. It’s a comfort knowing your son and daughter had a chance to see him 🌈😢. You took the best care of him and I’m sure the feeling was mutual— lucky dog, fortunate family.
It’s such a difficult loss — thinking of you all!2 -

Nice work @Zaxa2021 — impressive miles! It must feel so satisfying to make such great strides to achieve your ‘reach’ goal. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much!
Fortunately I don’t have to take classes over summer, as I return to uni in October, so I can relax and have some “me time”.
My son (4) starts school in August so I’ll be a bit busy preparing for that. He is very excited to start school, but I’m a nervous wreck
@SavageMrsMoose I am so sorry to hear about your boy Buddy. I hope your heart can heal with some time. Pets bring us so much happiness and it’s devastating when we lose them.
