Good morning Shape Shifters. It was finally dry here for a change. It was cold and I was lazy, so I stayed home. I did some more laundry, I enjoyed my tea with baklava, I cuddled Tinus while playing games and watching some youtube and I listened to Leonard Cohen while finishing my puzzle. It was really nice. Happy Monday everyone

Eeboo is probably my favourite puzzle brand. The 500 round ones are so relaxing to do, I need more of those.6 -

Aaagh, not a good start to the month. I was away last week, and the weekend without cell service and didn't report in before hand. My apologies.5 -
@lianatherunner sounds likes the volunteer work is not good for you and your energies are better directed elsewhere.
@Cyncia85 Very true!
@Itadakimasu7 you are incredibly talented! LOVE the doodle. Should be a puzzle design- right @Pupowl ? The round puzzle is very pretty. I’m about to start on a puzzle my dad gave me yesterday. It’s of a baby fur seal. He got it for making a donation to an ocean conservation group. Sometimes my dad really surprises me.
I had a wonderful weekend with my daughter. We ordered the wedding invitations and got some other planning things done. My son comes into Thursday. We are going to the beach for a few days and then spending thanksgiving day with my brother and parents. It’s weird to see the kids separately, but also nice in that I get more one on one time with them.
Have a great week everyone!7 -

Busy week. 2 of my kids had birthdays 4 days apart from each other, mine is Wednesday but ignoring that, lol. My eating has been OK (a lot better than it has been) and I finally got my butt out to my gym this morning. Hoping to get back in a routine4 -

Hi, Folks! Went to my primary care provider today for a med check who observed that I had lost weight from my last visit (hooray!). Next time around is recheck on bloodwork, which he said he expects to look loads better due to the "great work you're doing with your diet and exercise". It's nice to get a little pat on the back from a neutral party But in all seriousness, I've been careening around 170-171
for a little while now, and I'm ready to cross into the 160 decade. So I'm going to stop messing around and really get to work. First stop, increase exercise.6 -
Hi all,I'm recovering from my son's 30th birthday party. Its his birthday today & I was going to take him out for lunch but he had already arranged lunch out with friends.Im pretty tired today so didn't mind.
The party went well & it was good to see so.many family members & friends there.I felt really proud of my son as lots of friends of his came to talk to me & said I put a lovely spread on & commented on what a nice person my son is & my second son also ( they socialise & share the same friends)
As I was very busy at the party we all went to our local pub where the celebrations carried on.My hubby & I stayed out till 3 am it was fun & I danced all night.
We have some party leftovers in the fridge but I threw away a chocolate gateux as I would have been tempted to eat it all.
@SavageMrsMoose you & your daughter look beautiful in your outfits.
@Itadakimasu7 loved your drawing, hope you recover soon.I have arthritis too & it can be very painful at times,so I know how you feel.
@DarinGettingHawtin2013 it's good to get NSVs non scale victories especially from a doctor, well done you 🙂
@angemarie28 Happy Birthday for Wednesday.8 -

My kitty posed for the doodle. Food was beans and rice my usual. I often throw all sorts of stuff into the bean pot.
43 degrees (f) here and clear. I had a really nice bicycle ride around the park this morning, 8 miles mostly to spin pokestops and catch pokemon in 'Pokemon Go'.
I keep my bicycle in the house beside my bed since it's my most valued possession... and when I carried it out and down the stairs I had three deer napping out back including a baby from this year. They looked at me but surprisingly they were just too mellowed out to move. They never did get up. Maybe I just seem like no threat at all.
I like a nice quiet Monday morning although it is guaranteed no dogs will be on leash because everyone always assumes, "nobody else is in this highly popular park so I don't have to follow the rules!" lol. There are a lot of good reasons to have a dog on a leash here though.
Out by the jetty I surprised a Coyote who took up position and started howling. It was awesome! I've seen her before and she's the most beautiful coyote ever, with a grey patch on her back that's flecked and a big bushy 'yote tail. She's a model coyote. I tried to get a video or photo but she alluded me, but I did catch some howling on the video.
On the way home I was avoiding several female elk laying down just outside the gate with a couple of calves. I was staring behind me to make sure they had remained seated and wasn't charging up behind me irritated and I missed that the bull stood directly in front of me. Boy did I startle when I saw him! I did a U turn and luckily there is another road access so I made it home without incident. He had horns at least 4ft across and he was absolutely massive.
I saw a few more deer in the park also including a set of twin babies from this past summer. It was a nice outing. My bike isn't difficult to pedal so I'm playing a lot more than exercising.
Hope everyone's Monday is going okay, I know they tend to be crazy!

Good morning Shape Shifters. In the morning I walked to the vet with Tinus for his monthly painkiller. I am glad we had the appointment early, because 15 minutes after we got home, it started pissing rain the rest of the day. It was also super windy. My little willow tree was being blow away, the support poles didn't do anything, so I fixed that with a metal bird feeder pole. It works quite well and is still in place after mountains of wind. I have been a bit frustrated with my weight this week. It has been the same or 0.2 higher/lower for 5 days in a row. I am considering switching to only checking once a week instead of daily because it just makes me want to eat less and less which is not healthy. Happy Tuesday everyone

I wasn’t going to participate in the step challenge in November because I’m traveling so much. Planning on re-joining in December.

Good morning Shape Shifters. Not much going on here yesterday. The weather was still really bad. I wrote 3 postcards to Germany, Taiwan and India. It was sunny and raining at the same time, so it was a little hard to find a window to drop off the cards. I got a little wet, but nothing too bad. It was a pretty boring day. Happy Wednesday everyone

Wednesday weigh in
PW: 216.2
CW: 215.3
Rant under the spoiler, feel free to skip.I was so disappointed with this numbers this morning. Last week I had a 1.6 lbs loss and that was with 2 days out of 7 eating over 4000 calories. This time I ate well for 7 days in a row, and I only have this tiny, useless loss. I understand weigh loss gets harder the less you weigh, but I am still well over 200 pounds so it just pissed me off. Yesterday my weight was 215.1 and I really expected it to be down this morning; instead it went up! I hate how it can be so illogical and sometimes I just want to give up.6 -
Wednesday Weigh In
PW: 138.3
CW: 134.7
Loss: 3.6 lbs
Yay!!! I knew I was carrying some extra water weight. I'm so happy I got rid of some of it. I was super diligent with eating right and pushed my running up a notch, both in frequency and intensity. Happy, happy , happy!
I'm still looking for the 133 that I saw very briefly last month, but it should come soon. My weight has been on a rollercoaster lately, but I'm trying to reign in the craziness a bit.5 -
@pupowl I totally understand. The scale can be completely evil sometimes. Big hugs. Hang on. You’ve been doing great.4
-
@Pupowl In addition to what the others said, I just had a peek at the spreadsheet. You started the month at 220, you're now, just halfway through the month, at 215?! That's a great loss. Sometimes I find it helpful to take a bit of a step back to look at the bigger picture. Youre doing awesome!
Do you use a weight trend app? I use Libra, and it shows the trend that I'm on, helping me focus on the bigger picture, and not so much on the daily fluctuations. Just a thought.6 -
@SavageMrsMoose Thank you! I will keep going, just not today, lol
@CasandraW The woosh is very real! But my weight has just been moving so little this whole week. It went 216.2 - 216.4 - 216.4 - 216.0 - 216.0 - 215.1 - 215.1 - 215.3. It just feels like the woosh should have already happened. I am having a 'screw it' day today, and then back to the healthy eating again.
@Zaxa2021 Thanks, I have been doing alright, maybe it also feels worse because this is the 3rd time I am losing the same weight. It was mostly just a moment of disappointment this morning I think. I will keep going! I have a Renpho scale/app which also has trends but it doesn't look in the future. I do think weighing once a week is better for me, so I will switch to that.
Really appreciate the comments4
