@PatriceFitnessPal - Woot! Good job on the rowing. That sounds like a lot of fun.
That should be interesting with the mill. I make bread every week for my family. Generally just a simple no kneed farmers bread.4 -
Good morning Shape Shifters. Yesterday was nice and active. First I went to stock up on some protein yoghurt from the store. I saw they also had a bunch of panorama Disney puzzles. There was one I really liked so I bought it. They were only half the price I would normally expect to pay for a 1000 piece which was nice. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought it. Then I went to the garden/pet store for new lead ropes for the cat jackets and two bags of wood pallets for the litterbox. They just about fit in the bags on my bike, though I do have to ride a bit careful because they weigh 12,5 kg / 27 pounds each. It was super windy, but I made it home safe. Cleaned the litterbox, the water fountain and did the dishes. I got a red lead rope for the royal tartan jacket and Tinus looks fabulous. He is giving me Christmas vibes! I was really bored in the evening, so I went to bed early. Happy Tuesday everyone

@PatriceFitnessPal Congratulations on your rowing,the setting for the race looks beautiful.
@Pupowl Tinus looks too cute in his tartan coat & lead,is he going to catch u up on your steps ? 🤣
I've got a busy week as it's my eldest son's 30th birthday party this weekend.I'm doing all the catering myself so will be busy shopping & cooking.At times like this I miss having a car but I hope friends & family will help to take stuff to the party venue.

Good morning all!
I feel you @Pupowl and @nancyinmo about needing good sleep. It’s essential. I woke up about midnight and didn’t get back to sleep for hours. I’m stressing about my daughters wedding, but I’ve also been trying to run much harder so it might be overtraining. Also, it might be menopause. Ughh. I hope I don’t have to go on medication. I really don’t want too, but the hot flashes are so annoying.
Since my daughter got engaged, I had planned on wearing a dress belonging to my late mother in law. I’d thought of wearing one dress I’d saved, but it was too big 35 pounds ago, so it’s probably too much to alter. So I’d decided to wear this cranberry colored ball gown that she wore to the opening of the San Francisco opera 20 years ago. I took it to the tailor yesterday to have it taken in and have it shortened, and he didn’t want to touch it because of its age. He said he was going to have to press it and he thought the iron would damage the fabric because it was old. It’s fading unevenly in a couple places. He told me to take it to the good cleaners in town first. Unfortunately, this cleaners is VERY expensive- I expect they would charge close to 1000 dollars to clean it. Unfortunately- I’m not exaggerating. My husband never wanted me to wear the dress- he thinks it looks like a costume. It is VERY heavy and won’t truly be practical for an outdoor wedding.
So apparently I need a mother of the bride dress and instead of feeling excited, I’m stressed. What if I gain back the weight I’ve lost? The expense. I want something nice and this wedding is getting crazy expensive. Also, I was trying to bring my mother in law in a sense. It seems ridiculous as I type this out, but I’m stressed about buying a dress.6 -
@SavageMrsMoose - We’ll definitely need to see a picture of your dress-costume!
You may just need time to grieve the loss of your original idea, which was full of family history and personal meaning to you. The dress represents more than fancy fabric so it will take a little time to adjust your expectations, if needed. Of course, it’s worth asking advice from the skilled cleaner. They might have some good advice or options for you to consider, even if you decide not to wear the family heirloom. Maybe you can take a casual ‘no pressure’ practice run pricing some dresses you like. That way, you’ll have a better idea of the cost of a new dress compared to an investment in restoring your mother-in-laws dress.
This is another big milestone for your daughter and I’m sure the wedding will be a fabulous celebration of family and friends — congratulations! It’s so nice that you are looking for a way to honor and include your mother-in-law as you plan. Maybe your husband and children can help you find a way to incorporate her memory. I’m confident you’ll find a solution but it’s hard when a plan falls through. I’m sending a hug as you work through the loss and strength to face the fear of regaining weight after buying a dress. I doubt that will happen but I understand the feeling. I’m sure it will be beautiful and memorable— Hang in there!3 -

@izzyred9400 Ha, Tinus is actually pretty lazy outside. He usually stays in the garden and just sits somewhere and looks around! So he is never going to beat me!
@murdog3t We don't have your steps for the 4th, please let us know, thanks! I like the daily updates.2 -
@SavageMrsMoose sending hugs your way! I echo PatriceFitnessPal, although I don't think I'd excel as well in finding the words.3
-
@pupowl Tell Tinus he's a sexy beast in tartan plaid!!! Very festive too!!!
I wanna see all the lady dress pics being mentioned...bet you're all going to look amazing!!
It's nearly 7pm and I'm just getting home...not even eating dinner...going straight to bed ... rough day!

@JenHul - Enjoy your trip! 🏖️
@DarinGettingHawtin2013 - You seem to have good insight and expectations from your previous weight loss. I’m looking forward to hearing more about what you learned from the experience. 👋 back to Ernie and his bird-hunting pal in Holly Springs!
@looneycatblue, @jessicakrall8, and @magnusMLQ - To me, no gain feels like a win but I know it can be frustrating sometimes. If you stick with daily logging for a slight calorie deficit, it will lead to a downward trajectory and positive results eventually. Hang in there!
@Armygirlarmyof1 - I hope your knee feels better soon. ❤️🩹
@murdog3t - It’s inspiring to see all those green check marks indicating that you achieved your daily goals! Keep up the good work! 👍🏼
@pedal__power, @Itadakimasu1, @izzyred9400, and @CasandraW — Thank you for the kind words and encouragement!
Your steps are impressive @pedal__power and congratulations on pushing through to exercise when you didn’t feel motivated. I’m sure you’ll be working out a lot now that hockey season has started. My brother is coaching in Utica, NY this year so I’m trying to plan a visit, and mapping out the games on his schedule that are closest to me (mostly Pennsylvania teams) or close to family members so I can combine visits!
I’ve been trying to increase my protein intake so I may have to use your bread recipe, @Itadakimasu7! 😂 I’d love to make bread instead of buying less natural versions @CasandraW and @Itakimasu7 — Nice work!
@izzyred9400 - Have fun at the party! At least you’ll get to show off your dance moves after all your preparations! 💃💃💃
@Pupowl — The new jackets are adorable. Tinus is looking handsome! I always look forward to your updates and agree that sleep is an essential part of success and improves our focus, outlook, disposition, and more. I often confuse the need for sleep with hunger symptoms so I have to be especially careful not to overeat at night. I’m confused enough on a good day! 🙃
And, welcome to your cute new kitten, too @LaurieWrobo! I’m sure it’s still difficult to cope with the loss of your beloved pet but the new kitten is fortunate to find a loving home and it’s great you have a new companion to welcome you home — enjoy your time together!8 -
Thank you @PatriceFitnessPal for acknowledging my loss - I keep seeing my memories in FB and pics come up with him b/c he would be with me while I worked out
My new kitty is a fireball of energy though but taking the girls some time to get used to him still he's 10 weeks old7 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. Thanks for all the kind words about Tinus! I passed them on to him. My day started a bit slow. I already don't remember what I did, so I guess it wasn't very interesting. Oh yes, I wrote two postcards to Finland and Belarus and posted them before it started raining. In the afternoon I started moving stuff around in the living room, pulling things out of boxes and just reorganising stuff. I collected a bag of trash and I have a little more space to put decorations. My couch has a shelf running along the bottom so I put a lot of my puzzles there which helped a lot. Today I plan to throw out some plants. I am just not enjoying them. I think I will only keep two; one will be repotted. Happy day everyone

Wednesday weigh in
PW: 217.8
CW: 216.2
This one took some work. After my 2 very high food days, I weighed in at 223.3 on Friday morning. Of course a lot of this was salt and water so it dropped to 220.9 the next morning, then 219.1 -- 217.3 -- 216.9 and finally 216.2 this morning. I am hoping for a bigger loss next week because I will mostly behave with my food today!8 -
Congratulations @Pupowl you are doing amazing! Great progress!
I appreciate everyone’s kind words. I’m going to enjoy my dress shopping I think I’m mostly stressed about the fear of re-gaining weight.
This is a picture of my mother in law in the dress. I know my daughter took a picture of me, but I can’t find it….
We are still going to honor her my mother in law the wedding. She was a very strong, outspoken and opinionated, but also very loved. My daughter is named after her. I had star gazer lilies at as my wedding flowers- I thought they were beautiful and very in fashion in the early 90s. My MIL always referred to them as funeral flowers. So, my daughter is having an empty seat with a bouquet of star gazer lilies in it for her. It’s a joke between my daughter and myself. We all miss her very much.9 -
@Pupowl , Tinus is gorgeous in his new outfit.
@PatriceFitnessPal , ty.

Weigh in Wednesday
PW: 137.8
CW: 138.3
Honestly, I'm surprised it's not higher. It's been up skyhigh this past week. Some pms weight, some I Ate Too Much Crap weight. I have been super focused the last few days, and will keep working to get this number moving in the right direction again. Gahhhh. I was doing so good not too long ago, but fell off hard. I'm a bit frustrated I lost some of the progress I was making, but I only have myself to blame.6 -
@Itadakimasu7 I do inadvertent yoga with a dog, lol. She’s a 9 year old golden retriever who loves to “help” with workouts. I’d love to go to an actual class though!!!6
