Just getting home and doing a few things around the house...tomorrow is trash day. Had to work 2 hrs OT tonight...I'm tired. Tomorrow ends the week of "trial by fire" in my new IT role. It hasn't been perfect, but not once did I have to contact my colleague who's on vacation. I've learned a few things and made a few mistakes, but I've pretty much kept up (on her tasks)...my emails are another story. All things considered, I'm proud of myself.
Hope y'all have a wonderful Friday! Trust me, I have EARNED this weekend!

Beach along the Columbia River
Freighter giving up the 'calm' of the River for some insane stormy ocean action.
Today (Thursday / Friday) are my weekend. Had a small break in the storm so road my bike out towards where the river meets the sea. The weather moved back in shortly afterwards. I wish I could share how loud the ocean was, it sounded ferocious. I can't imagine have to sell out to sea today.

It's been a while, but I finally finished a puzzle again! I knew as soon as I sat down, I would have a hard time stopping, so I put most of it together yesterday. 750 pieces is a very nice size as well. I have two more puzzles from this series that I am looking forward to doing eventually. It's hard to pick which one to do next, so I wrote all of them down on small notecards I can shuffle and pick one at random! More puzzle time today because the weather is dreadful. Happy Friday everyone4

I've been quite busy with work this fall and haven't had much chance to write updates or check-in. I'm going strong with not eating past 8pm but I could work a bit harder at my diet overall. Have a nice weekend shape shifters!7 -
This was my last real day of marathon training, so my step count is going to be high. I'll post it tomorrow but as of now I'm at over 48,000 steps. I'm going out of town for the weekend, but I should be able to check in.
My marathon training has gone so badly but today was my longest run and it didn't go too badly. I am slower than I was last year but I'm also heavier and training hasn't been ideal. I just want to get through the race at this point!
I also have two concerts to worry about, but at least my training is basically done.6 -

NOW ACCEPTING SIGN-UPS FOR THE NOVEMBER STEP CHALLENGE!
If you're a step junkie, like many of us, sign up for the step challenge. Registration is month to month, so you must re-register each month. This give you the chance to update your daily step goal and tell the team your favorite place to walk this time of year! So please give us your first name (for the chart), your daily step goal and your favorite place to walk and that's it!
NEW REQUIREMENT:
PLEASE make sure you post your steps, with the date included every 2-3 days. This keeps the stats easier to manage for your Captains and keeps us caught up on them. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS COMMITMENT, DO NOT REGISTER. Thank you for understanding.
The step challenge chart is located directly below the weigh-in chart where we keep the weigh stats. Go to the main Fat2Fit page, look for the Monthly Timetable listing. At the bottom of that section in red/blue writing you'll see the following with the links to the October and November Spreadsheets. This will help you see where you are in posting your stats. YOU WILL STILL POST THE STATS IN THE CURRENT CHAT THREAD JUST AS YOU DO FOR YOUR WEIGH-INS AND THE CAPTAINS WILL UPDATE THE STATS.
Hope this is a motivation to stay active for the month and challenge yourself, or your friends to keep moving! Hope to see you sign up for November!
Jessica

@murdog3t Hello Tami! Welcome to the group and thank you for the introduction. We still need a bunch of information from you so we can get you added to the spreadsheet. Please let me know your highest weight, your current weight and the day you would like to weigh in for the group. For the step challenge we need your daily step goal and the steps from Oct 29 until now if you have any. Let me know if you have questions and good luck on your health journey!4

Weigh Day: Saturday
PW: 204.0
CW: 204.5
Today is the day before my first half marathon and I’m alternating between really excited and anxious. I know I’ll finish, but I’m slow and would like to get a certain time. Because I trained in a group, the pace times could vary up to a minute or two per mile on our training runs, so Im not as confident as I’d like with the finish time. I’ve been told I should expect to gain up to three pounds in the days leading up to the race, so I’m not surprised by the gain, but it’s still troubling after having slow but consistent losses. Hoping for a good recovery day today and great sleep tonight.9 -

I knew I’d be up a bit from traveling. I really have struggled to get below 135. Oh well- new week.
@lianatherunner Time to enjoy your taper! Good luck at your race. We will be cheering for you on the chat! I ran my first marathon 25 years ago. Sometimes the training goes better than others, but try to enjoy the moment. You are amazing! Most people can’t do this- it takes real dedication and some luck as well.6 -

Happy for the loss, but a hard week. We had our first out-of-towner visitor this past week, so there was more eating out than usual, and less working out as usual. Tried to make the best choices possible and it paid off. Between the upcoming holidays and the winter weather, I expect we will be having a lot more visitors in Sunny Aventura!!6 -

Good Day Shape Shifters!
NSV: yesterday I jogged for a consecutive 20 minutes!
Next mini goal for the big goal - increase the speed on the treadmill. I will work on that tomorrow (Sunday).
I did an at home workout today followed by a cranberry orange smoothie that I have been craving!
Had 2 boiled eggs with mashed beets - so good! And some turkey sausage.
Studying microeconomics now. Then I'm headed to see Cody Jinks in concert this evening. It's a good weekend!
I'm excited to hear what my fellow fitness freaks have going on!5 -
I've been using the Power Plate at the gym. Anyone else use it? Thoughts?
Power Plate vibrates up to 50 times a second sending tiny vibrations through your body. These tiny micro vibrations activate more muscles, burn more calories, improve circulation, and assist muscle recovery

I'm pleased that the scales are moving in the right direction,5 weeks in the green so far.I dont think this has ever happened all my years on MFP !! 😀
I've nearly lost the weight I put on during my month long holiday in September.
Today I got up early & walked to the supermarket & back.I went to the gym & walked on the treadmill,I decided I much prefer walking outside, even in the rain.I did some weights & then swam 52 short lengths in the pool.Followed by a relax in the steam room all by myself ,bliss.
Welcome @murdog3t & good luck to all the runners on here.
@Cyncia85 I used a power plate years ago,the gym I went to with a friend had one. They are meant to be effective but I personally didn't like the fact you had to hold the pose whilst it made your teeth chatter 🤣

@lianatherunner -- wow, that's a lot of steps! What training program are you using? That really makes me want to get out of my chair and work harder! I've tried to add you as a friend on MFP, but lately I receive a 404 and it glitches. We have a crazy amount in common. I live in the country but had a fence company out today because I have interesting neighbors ;-P Good luck on the concerts too, that's really cool. I've been up to Seattle to watch classical music events a few times, run Beat the Blerch and ran Vancouver WA a few times, but usually 10k is my distance because I psyche myself out (also, I've gotten lost a surprising number of times during races...lol).
Welcome new members!!
We have an 'atmospheric river' over head and some storms moving in. The nice rainy day sounds are making me want to relax and bake things. ;-P
