@Cyncia85 We have a forecast of rain/snow mix for this evening. I'm hoping it will be snow instead of rain. I stick the left over candy in the freezer. I don't care for them frozen, and my husband has sensitive teeth so he won't touch them that way either. It gives me time to decide if I really want to have that chocolate or not. I typically decide to leave it however I do have one "cheat meal" per week and might overindulge on some than.5

Winter weather started here on Sunday. With the gardening mostly done for the year along with the preserving I find a have a little more time to spare. I've pulled out a puzzle I picked up at Goodwill, it has 2,000 pieces. Certainly the largest puzzle I've done.
Today is a little bit of a busy day though. I have bread in the oven and yogurt started. Since I work part time from home I like to make as much of our food as I can. The bread is simple, costs less than store bought and does not include any oils or sugars. For the yogurt, it's really just a lot cheaper than buying it in the store. Dairy prices are pretty crazy in Canada and we eat a lot of greek yogurt.6 -

I would love to learn how to make my own yogurt!
Once my schedule eases up a bit, I want to make my own bread. Your day sounds peaceful.3 -
Hello All! Happy Halloween!!!
I’m still traveling so a little behind reading posts…
I saw we have a new member that’s a runner and viola player! Welcome! There is no shame in the half. I hate when people belittle the race. You have to actually train for that distance. You do what is right for you in the moment. What is your next race? I’m doing houston in January. This year the full, but last year the half and it was still a significant event.
Does the step challenge end today? Or on the 28th ? Let me know if I owe anything and I’ll try and figure out the steps from my phone. I’m not sure how to get to the chart.3 -
@SavageMrsMoose The month ended on the 28th, so we got all your steps in for last month!2

@SavageMrsMoose Go back to the first page of this month's thread and look for my pitch for the Step Challenge...I give the full description of where to find the step chart...

I have two bonded foster brothers - first cat is Ernest "Ernie" who is the naughty one of the pair. Second is Anderson "Noodle" who got his nickname from stealing spaghetti noodles from the pot when he was a wee kitten. Love these two to bits.9 -

So many great posts! Great new people! Whoo Hoo! Going to be a crazy week for me and I haven't had a chance to post much but *waves*!3 -

My next race is the Seattle Marathon on November 26. I did it last year but that seems like a decade ago! I'm really struggling! I have a couple more opportunities to "catch up" to where I need to be.
Half-marathons are my favorite distance, but I enjoyed my marathon, too! Good luck at yours!6 -

I hope everyone had a nice Halloween.
I dressed up my cat and she still loves me!
I'm glad that I managed to avoid Fun Size candy as I don't get trick-or-treaters. I'm going on a longish run tomorrow and I hope my feet do okay. My feet hurt so bad last time I tried but then I realized that my shoes were old. I switched them out, so fingers crossed. I've had so many problems with shoes lately.
I'm going out of town this weekend, which will be nice! I could use the quiet!
What's everyone up to?

Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a pretty busy day. In the morning I had to go to the doctor for an injection (routine) and after I swung by the vet to pick up two things for Tinus. I requested 3 addresses on Postcrossing and wrote cards to Estonia, Japan and the UK. The weather wasn't great, but I managed to find a gap in the rain and walked to the mailbox to drop off the cards. At the end of the day I went to the store for some protein yoghurt and to a pet/garden store to pick up a new bag of hay for the hedgehogs. They also had really cute bird figurenes, so I got a winter wren for myself.
I did calisthenics in the evening. It was wall pull up and squat day. I suck at squats. The first variation is to squat using a little stool at knee height so you can assist with your arms. The squats I am used to is to drop until your butt is around knee height. The book wants you to drop all the way down, which wasn't a problem, but getting back up though! I only did 2 sets of 15 and that was enough to make my legs sore. The routine only has 6 exercises (with easy to much harder variations you can progress to) total; 2 a day that repeat twice a week with one day off. I like that it doesn't take a lot of time to do and I am looking forward to see how fast I improve. Happy Wednesday everyone

Ouch, big jump up this week. Weighing in the day after Halloween did not work out for me. I'm recommiting to the basics (tracking food, working out staying within calories), and I have no doubt I'll be down next week.3 -

I had a nuero-ophthalmologist appointment today so I'm just getting home. I'm beyond exhausted yall. I'll catch up soon.2 -
Hi All!
I recently listened to this podcast interviewing Dr. Bill Schindler, an archaeologist, primitive technologist, chef, and author of the book, Eat Like a Human. Link is below if you'd like to give it a listen.
They talk about the value in eating organ meats. What are your thoughts?

Early bike ride this morning before the rain moves in. The temperature is nice, just a little crispy.

Good morning Shape Shifters. I got groceries in the morning. We are getting a bit of a storm today and the rest of the week doesn't look very pretty either, so I wanted to get everything sorted before that. I wrote two more postcards for Postcrossing, to Spain and Russia. I walked to the mailbox again for some fresh air. It is only like 22 minutes total, but better than sitting inside. I ordered a big and cheap rug in the evening for Tinus. He likes to play in the living room, but he slips a lot on the wooden floor, sometimes crashing head first into the wall. I already have one big rug, but that still only covers half of the living room, so I figured it was time to get another one when I found one for cheap. It is 160 x 240 cm and it was only 50 euros with delivery. Rugs of that size are usually twice that price. I hope he will like it. I also did calisthenics in the evening; it was bridge and twist day. My legs got a little more sore which is great. Happy Thursday everyone
