Good morning WaistAways!
CW: 181.4!3 -
Love all the dialogue around shoes! There is a running/fitness store by us that I have thought about going to for shoes specifically for my circuit classes. My gym sneakers have basically lost most of their tread at this point. I may go this weekend and treat myself to getting shoes fitted!
@jugar - wow, an airplane flipped over!! That must have been quite the sight.
Yesterday was a day full of unplanned meals. I didn’t prep my breakfast because I was exhausted the night before, so I grabbed something on the road. At work, I thought our cafeteria still had a salad bar, but they don’t anymore because not enough people go into the office so they don’t stock it. I asked for a grilled chicken sandwich, and they only had crispy chicken, so I had that. Then when I got home, my husband had been so busy with home improvement projects, we both forgot to defrost the chicken! So we got Thai takeout and I had chicken and veggie stir fry over rice. I also had a beer, but I was so tired I only drank half of it with my dinner. I also didn’t get home until 7:30; it was another 11-hour work day filled with planned and unplanned meetings.
At least after all those unplanned meals, MFP shows I’m within range at least for my overall calories, so that made me feel better.
Today I have spin class (yay!!) and then the farmers market. We’re going to play board games with friends this afternoon and order pizza for an early dinner. I’ve got eggs for breakfast, and then a chicken and kale soup for lunch to get back on track before pizza tonight.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!5 -
@wishfuljune
Your work days are intense! That's a lot of hours at the office.. hope you enjoy your board game day today, how fun!
Yesterday night we curled and I opted out of eating at the restaurant after which we usually do. Came home and had my planned dinner. But, drank a bit more than I should have and then had some chips. Still a good day but I do better when I drink less. We have had many days of no alcohol at all so far this month which is fabulous.5 -
Friday weigh in on Saturday

Both of these weights are averages as I’m still swinging around a bit on the scale. I’ll post more later. Must take down Christmas because Alexa won’t do it! 😉5 -

Good evening, Friends,
I try to read all posts, but sometimes, if I miss a day, I find the number of unread (by me) posts quite intimidating!
My biggest takeaways are -
- new puppy
- new shoes
- very cold weather
- snow
- weekend buffet
- Jasper continues to thrive
- poor chicken!
- wow! there are 14 of us on the Step Team!
I will return tomorrow for my weigh-in.
Stay well, Friends!

@ashleycarole86 great numbers stepping this week! Out of curiosity for the other step challenge, how many steps do you add on for my 60 minute body pump class?1

hello from the mountains! I had an AWESOME day on the slopes, despite some truly terrible weather - it was raining half the morning, then sleet, then briefly turned to snow flurries and I was completely soaked when I went in for lunch. Luckily I found a spot for myself on a leather couch in front of a wood burning stove... toasty! took a while to feel dry and warm enough to head out again but so glad I did. Got 15 runs in, in total, my quads are completely shot (I forgot snowboarding is basically being in a half squat the entire day LOL) and my calves may straight up walk away from me tomorrow. but I feel great, ready to take on some slopes in Maine in 2 weeks, and confirmed that my gear can make it one more season - but I did order a new helmet and I'm going to use a coupon at REI to get new goggles.
@lindamartin27 so sorry about your chicken! glad you had a spot to move everybody else and keep them safe going forward.
@wishfuljune days where unplanned meals sneak in used to really stress me out but it sounds like you have or are building the right approach to the choices you do get so that kind of day doesn't totally throw you for a calorie loop. well done!
@jugar when you take Jasper on a trail, what trails are they? Were they created/cleared for riding? Or public access trails that allow horses? Something on your own property?
I am sliding into yoga and ordering pizza for dinner. I also picked up a 4 pack of cider to get a lil buzz on. the perfect winter Saturday.4 -

All kinds of great news today!
@kali225 even if your calves and quads are mad at you, it sounds like the rest of you had a fabulous time, even with the crappy weather! Well done getting out no matter what, and getting over the threshold of uncertainty - win win!
I love the step team energy, and the distance from Barcelona across the border into France - what a gorgeous walk! We surely ended up in the fabulous town of Cerbère (named for Cerberus the 3-headed guardian of the underworld ). What a place! Mountains, ocean, it has it all -
If we keep on walking north we'll get to the medieval wonders of Perpignan and Carcassonne. Fabulous places. I was lucky enough to play some concerts in that area way back in 1981 (or some time around then). It's nice to go back, even in our imaginations.
@micki48 I think you need to update Alexa. Not taking down the decorations! Shocking!

I am absolutely gutted.
I have such a massive weight gain that I could cry. I really can't believe that it is so massive 🤦😢
I did have 2 drinking sessions. Twice we went out with my friend for her leaving party and I also bought new bathroom scales. It showed 7lbs gain 😢 I am now weighing at 241lbs 😱🫣😢
I just can't believe. I have never been this weight.
@jugar can I please go to team support for the rest of the month? I don't want to record this weight as I will let the team down in our team standing 😢 I just can't believe this 😢😢😢
I am so embarrassed but I took the photo of the scales and this surely will be my starting point 😕5 -

Greetings Team,
I am seeing some very impressive steps and activities being recorded. Well done Team!
@strong_fit_ells please don't worry about your gained weight - it happens regularly. I will admit to sometimes being reluctant to record my own gains, but I realise that I need the accountability - good or bad.
And for the past month I have also seen a regular, albeit small, increase on the scales.
Stay strong - we've got you!
Yx

NEWS FLASH - Brad and I got on the Peloton today. It had been 10 days - wow.. how do 10 days go by? Didn't feel that long. It was a great session - 45 minutes on the bike, a 10 minute upper body strength session, and a 5 minute stretch. I'm smiling.4 -

But mostly, hang in there. The effect of your gain on the team is no worse than some of the big ones that happened in December and happen at different times when people have been on vacation, going through stress, partying, or whatever. You'll get going again. And it is important to keep with your January goals. You have a good set of daily goals, and if you add even one more day per week of succeeding at them, you'll see a difference. 100% every day is probably never going to happen for anyone, so don't worry about it. Just get a little bit better.
So let me know if you still have your old scale and can compare them. If not, we can take a guess and assume that the new scale is reading higher than the old one.
Second - weigh in late this week. Give yourself a few really good days and weigh in on another day. Then you can get back onto Mondays next week. Or switch to a new day and see how that goes.
Third - give yourself a big hug. You are so much more than just that number! Come on in and tell us all the things any time. We love it. Keep working on the habit tracking, and in a couple of days you'll be feeling yourself again.
