@pupowl Came home early from work...sick. I'm headed to bed, but thought I'd report in first. I didn't eat dinner last night because I was sick, so I had some oatmeal this morning...had some Asian vegetables for lunch and my tummy didn't react well...thus, home sick. Been fighting whatever this is...all week long. Nearly made it all the way through...missed it by 2 hours. UGH!
Have a wonderful evening...our weather in VA is going to be frigid and simply yuck, so I'll be home all weekend, just relaxing and trying to get over whatever this illness is that I have that has torn my tummy up. I'll pop in and out when I can this weekend. If you're in yucky weather, we can commiserate!
Take care,
Jessica6 -
@SavageMrsMoose - Thank you for the encouragement!
@CasandraW - Enjoy your vacation. I hope your hand injury won’t impede any of your fun!
@jessicakrall8 — I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. It’s a good weekend to catch up on your rest. I hope you feel better soon!3 -

The very slow crawl towards my goal continues. I honestly don’t know what more I can do. I’m exercising daily, eating right, being mindful. I’m not sure at what point I should say, “okay, this is it.” 🤷♀️3 -

@nancyinmo - To me, it doesn’t sound as though you have to do anything more. You’re doing great! Weight loss usually slows down considerably the closer you get to your goal weight. A pound of weight loss at this point is impressive. Congratulations!I’m exercising daily, eating right, being mindful. I’m not sure at what point I should say, “okay, this is it.” 🤷♀️
I’m wondering if your doctor or a nutritionist could offer guidance to you. I set my goal as the mid-point of a normal BMI so that target is a bit random. After losing 43 pounds and meeting my goal, I regained about 15 pounds. My doctor checked in with me on both ends, asking me how low I hoped to go during my loss, etc. (seemingly probing for signs of an eating disorder or distorted thinking) and asking me about the gain and reviewing my lab work to see any changes). There were no medical setbacks with my gain, but I now have a better sense of what feels most comfortable to me in terms of weight, body measurements, energy, aerobic stamina, etc.
So, I’m guessing you’ll know what’s right for you.
I’m continuing to monitor my weight fluctuation with the help of my doctor, but I’ve been thinking about working with a nutritionist again. In 2019, I bought a package of six consultations and the nutritionist gave me some meal plan ideas. She’s also the person who introduced me to MFP so she could monitor my diary and give feedback.
You’re doing fantastic! You (and others in the group) are an inspiration! Keep up the good work!

@PatriceFitnessPal
This was very helpful advice. Thank you (and thanks for sharing your story as well)🩷2 -
@izzyred9400 , ty for asking. I'm making strides. I overdid the therapy yesterday so I'm going light today and more icing.2

@jessicakrall8 Hope you feel better soon and that you are able to enjoy your weekend. The weather has been really nice here (well, for me) but tomorrow we are getting a 'storm' and 4 days in a row with crazy winds, so not sure if I can go for any walks at all. Such a bummer!1

Feeling a little better today, but still being careful about what I eat so my tummy doesn't go insane again, like the last few days. I'm getting ready to lie down for a bit so thought I'd go ahead and post my plan for today, since I'm halfway through it. Hope you're all enjoying your day.
Why is it, as soon as the weather is yucky/windy/cold, making it miserable to get out for any purpose, the first thing we want to do, is get out?! Human nature...we're never satisfied...
I walked a mile this morning, cleaned up the kitchen a bit, ran the dishwasher, cleaned the bathroom and have walked around the house a lot. Guess I'll read for a while and hopefully take a nap. Enjoy your day and if you're having yucky weather, you HAVE my sympathy. By Tuesday/Wednesday here in VA, we'll be back up in the 60s YAYyyyy!!!

Hello all!
I’ve been unwell lately, so haven’t really been participating.
The good news is I finally lost some weight.
I weighed in at 190.2 this afternoon. Unfortunately I forgot to take it earlier as I woke up but I didn’t eat much, so my fasting weight wouldn’t be much less.3 -

I can add you if you'd like, but I need to know your first name for the chart, your favorite place to walk this time of year and what you want your daily step goal to be. Then, I'll need you to go back and other than the 3 days listed above, make me a list of your steps from Dec 31st to Feb 3rd, which are the tracking days for January and I'll get it filled in. Let me know ASAP. Thanks! If either of us missed it (me and @pupowl), I'm sorry.

@pupowl got you added (THANKS!) and good luck @abowersgirl for the rest of the month...also, each month requires new registration...doesn't carry over which gives you the chance to adjust your daily step goal if you choose. PLEASE report in every 2-3 days...keeps the stat keeping for the Captains to a minimal each day. Thanks!

Hello Shape Shifters. I had a pretty good week. Lots of walks in cold and snowy weather which I love. When it started getting cold and frosty, I had more redwing birds show up and I got some really nice pictures of them. I love it when birds pose for me on the fence posts! I found a new for me website that sells really good birdfood for a pretty cheap price, so I got 30 kilo's delivered yesterday. Now I can keep them happy for a while again.
Today the weather changed; a lot warmer and storm on the way. We are going to have crazy winds for 4 days in a row, so not sure how much walking I can do, but that's okay. Thursday I had a walk with my dad which was fun. Instead of eating out for lunch which I didn't want to do because of high calories, we got some fresh bread at the grocery store. Wednesday I ordered pizza. Despite knowing it makes me feel bad, it's expensive, way too much food and I never enjoy it as much as I think I will, I sometimes still can't help but order it! It is so silly. At least I have it mostly under control now and it happens maybe once a month. In the past when I was doing/feeling really bad, I sometimes ordered 3 times a week. So I am not that bothered by it anymore, it's just a small bump in the road. I have not much else to share, so I will just leave a boatload of pictures under the spoiler as usual. I have split it into several spoilers because I suspect it may be easier to load that way. Happy Saturday everyone6 -
