Glad to say goodbye to last week’s water weight! We’ve got some cold weather heading our way and I have chili and bean soup on the menu for the next few days, so I hope those don’t give me any problems. Stay warm y’all!3 -

I'm so disappointed in myself. I ate a deli sandwich and had an extra slice of pizza this week. in return I gained weight. Pound nasty pounds.

I've been very active this week but it just shows that what you eat is the most important tool for losing weight. There is still Christmas foods & drinks in the house that normally I wouldn't buy eg chocolate, biscuits, alcohol.
I even threw away the last box of sweets but I must admit those that I didn't like were the only ones left 😄
My eldest son wants to lose weight as since he has been working from home he has gained. So I'm hoping we can both stir each other on & I can gain control of my bad habits.

Weigh in
January 12: 192.8 lbs
I’m in a 500 cal deficit and work out a few times a week. Last night just for fun I got on the scale, and I weighed 196 😳 so how can
I am in a period of my cycle where I bloat, which could explain the slow weight loss, but 3 lbs difference overnight is just extreme. I think it may be time for a new scale soon.3 -
@SavageMrsMoose -- Good luck on the Marathon in Houston today! Thinking of you and sending you the best. The whole United States is shackled with bad weather today - but I hope it's amazing and perfect temps in the lone star state today. Best wishes! #LET'S GO!!!2
-
@SavageMrsMoose - I’ll be sending positive vibes your way, too! I’m connecting through Houston tonight to catch my last flight home so I’m sure there will be some local news and energy because of the race. Enjoy!3

Here are a few photos from my business trip to Saipan.
After our meetings, we drove to Bird Island, where we saw many birds flying, as well as two sharks, two turtles, and a school of fish swimming below.
This one is from a beautiful location with a tragic story about the devastating loss of life during the Battle of Saipan.
(I should have cropped the bottom of this👆)

@PatriceFitnessPal -- Wow, Saipan is beautiful! I hope your flights go okay and don't get delayed by the weather.2

@Cyncia85 Vitamin D is one of those things that I think most people would benefit from just taking as a supplement every day. There are so many people low in it because there are almost no foods that have a high amount of vit D (that's why they add it to milk and cereal etc). They estimate that one billion adults world wide are defficient in it. If you want to do it 'naturally' you need to eat fatty fish which is bad for the environment and your cholesterol. Or you need more sun expose which is not healthy either because of skin cancer since sunscreen prevents absorbtion as well. They aren't even sure what amount of sun exposure is safe. I have had a lot of blood tests due to other vague health problems (chronic fatigue mainly) and low vit D was the first thing that popped up. I take 1000 IU every day and though I never noticed a difference personally, I am sure stuff in my body works better because of it. When you say it dipped again, was that because you stopped taking a supplement? Because that would make no sense to me otherwise.
@Pupowl 100% agree with you
I think not taking a supplement was one reason my Vit D level dipped. I could get into the nitty gritty details of when I picked up the prescription. Then 'map' out about when I would take the pill. It is fat soluble - best to take with a meal with fat. I can't remember how often I took the past pills with a meal.
Result history is below. The dip from Dec 2022 to June 2023 was confusing to me because I was in the sun so much more. You can see in Dec 2022 it was 17 (still low) then in June dipped to 14. My cousin mentioned that I'm not absorbing the Vit D. So this time around, I'm going to add the magnesium glycinate and eat more fish. Keep using the prescription strength until we get in the proposed normal range then go to a daily supplement.
Sept 2022 = 10 NG/ML
Dec 2022 = 17 NG/ML
June 2023 = 14 NG/ML
Dec 2023 = 10 NG/ML3 -
@Armygirlarmyof1 Thank you for keeping us updated on your surgery. I'm wishing you a successful recovery!
@SavageMrsMoose - Excited for your run on Sunday!!!
@PatriceFitnessPal Beautiful pics of your trip! Thanks for sharing. I haven't been outside of the USA and finally got my passport in 2023. Hoping to get my first stamp this year at the soonest, otherwise 2025. Your pics inspired me and reminded me to stay focused on my goals so I can take a trip! Safe travels!3 -

Hi All
I recently read some tips about hydration.
"Consuming adequate amounts of water daily is essential — but you also need to ensure your body holds on to those fluids."
