Hi! I'm Valeta. I am 49 now, but will be 5-Oh! at the end of the month. I'm just a housewife from Northwest, Indiana. I live here, with my husband. We have three sons in their 20's, one grandson and a dog named Benny. Since September, I have lost 55 pounds. My goal is to maintain between 123-127.(center weight 125) I currently weigh 128. I've been doing a lot of tree work with my husband. We get so busy we end up working through lunch. Therefore, I have been skipping meals and eating out a lot recently. My current goal is to keep better control of my portion sizes and listen to my full ques, to get back to the lower end of my maintenance. I also want to focus more on my strength training. I enjoy listening to music, reading, and gardening.
@maryirisfroehlich - Welcome to the group. Those are some good goals to work towards. You can do it!
@lislisa123 - Welcome to the group. That's wonderful that you have the support of your mom. I want a workout buddy.
@AustinRuadhain - I'm all about earn a badge. I'm currently working on my Classics Fitbit badge to get 25,000 steps in a day. Cute cat and chickens. I hear chickens are fun to watch too.
@gemwolf110 - Great tracking! My birthday is this month too. I'm a cancer, born on the 25th of June. I hope you enjoy your travels. Your dogs are all beautiful.

@tammymccrady6278 - It's nice you decided to plant some flowers. It's exciting to see them bloom. I also planted some in my garden. I'm still waiting for them to bloom. I planted them from seed and the first set I planted never came up so I planted another set. A few grew this time.
@TeresaW2024 - You have a good plan, I hope the church potluck goes well.
@trooworld - Those unexpected expenses would give me a migraine.
@megnolia82 - You're making great progress. I hope you're able to find some good stress strategies(another goto) to make the journey easier.
@sunflowerhippi - Welcome to the group. I hope you get rid of the chest cold soon, so you can enjoy the trip you have planned.
@micaroo4 - I know I've said it before, but Great job on maintaining. I'm still working on balancing my food intake with the calories I burn to maintain in my goal range. It's a lot harder than I expected. I have to adjust my calories from 1300 on inactive days to 1600 on active days. It is not always easy to determine, now that my husband and I have been working together. I guess need to establish some new routines.

@Katmary71 - I'd love to hear more about your ab challenge. I've been focusing a lot on doing abs and core workouts.
@laurelfit57 - I haven't been to the movies in years. I don't want to waist the money because I know my husband will fall asleep. I hope you get those tomatoes. My tomato plants finally have a few flowers. I still have a few empty spots in my garden that I might need to go buy some plants to fill the spaces.

@laurelfit57 I hadn't heard a new Garfield movie was out, you're really the cool Grandma taking them to movies! Hope you get all the plants in. This is the first year I've decided I have enough stuff and stopped. I'm at green tomatoes only so far.
@lisalisa123 To add to the question it's easiest if people weigh in on their day but if you can get it in by Saturday I'd really appreciate it. It's not a big deal during the month but at the end of the month it's a big hassle when people are late because there's two spreadsheets with links that I pin to my task bar and I don't have room for both so I'd prefer to not go back to the old one. Aside of weigh-ins post when you'd like! We have the awesome @Digger61 who usually just posts weigh-ins but I know I'm always happy to see her post, she's been in this group longer than I have I believe.
@DrewsAnna LOL four kittens must be a lot of fun! Definitely understand giving up after the initial excitement, I tend to do that too so I try harder to hang in there to prove to myself I can.
@Cornanda Gus is the cutest trying to get your attention, LOL!
@gemwolf110 Happy Sunday my friend! That sounds like a fun hike, you'll have to train for some of the longer hikes! As for what I'm up to I just finished rearranging the pantry and fridge to give my roommate a couple shelves and am catching up here then doing the Garden Club minutes. Hoping for some garden time too!

@trooworld LOL I don't even know who Rupert Vandercloosinhooper is, I Googled him and ended up reading about James Rupport who murdered 11 family members which isn't funny at all then saw the cartoon bear. Guessing he tried to be more social? That's wonderful I'm glad you found such a great chiropractor. Expensive lousy food is the worst! I hope you're able to get some exercise in today, happy to hear you're feeling better.

Hi friends! I met my Dad for coffee this morning to give him rent then stopped at the store, I was going to get beef for barbacoa but it was in huge Value Pacs so I got some manager special stuff instead. I just finished rearranging the pantry to give my roommate some space and cleared a shelf in the fridge for him, figured it was about time. I'm catching up here, doing board meeting minutes for the Garden Club, then spending time in the yard. Have a great Sunday night and wonderful Monday!4 -

@laurelfit57 - I hope the tomato planting went well! I missed the window for that this year. In central Texas, you must get started in tomatoes super early, or you get no fruit. Our best growing season is winter.
If you need another kid-friendly movie for the grandkids, I liked IF. I do want to see Garfield.
@Katmary71 - I did have to look up “Whatchoo talkin about Willis." It made me laugh.
Re the cat picture: that look was because my husband did something interesting off to one side, and Habibi (the black kitty) wanted to know what was up. He's Mr. Fun. This is the first car that I have ever played chase with.

Hi everyone! I’ll post my weigh in tomorrow. Sorry today got away from me. My husband had the day off so we headed to Toronto for the Blue Jays game. It was a great game, and we won can’t ask for more than that!

Good morning! Congrats to us for making 2nd place in the weekly results. Let’s get to first place this month!! I just read everyone’s posts but will have to skip personals so I can get done and move along with my busy day. After my boss/pastor called me last night at 8 pm, there is a lot of work to do today. Yesterday at the potluck, the pastor’s wife told Joe that she often comes home and hears him talking to some woman on the phone but then realizes it’s just me.
The potluck went really well. We had sooooo much food, and of course, I ate way too much. Oh well, it’s a new week and time to move on. This morning, I tracked my weight and measurements, and my goal is to lose 10 lbs this month. Yes, it’s ambitious but great things don't happen if you don’t strive for it. You all have a good day. 7
