@LaurieWrobo Thank you! I actually put him in the box. I thought since this one was so big, maybe he would like it, but nope! He just walked around bewildered and acted as if I put him in some sort of prison he couldn't escape lol, so I eventually had to 'rescue' him and pick him up.

@iradi8 Thank you so much! I was pleasantly suprised that the bookcase went together so smoothly. 4 boxes was a little intimidating, but it wasn't bad at all.3 -
@Pupowl OMG!!! Titus has the most human like expressions! I love kitties, I currently have 3 of my own. I rescued them from out front of my work about 2.5 years ago. Feral, but they have mostly adjusted. I'll post some pictures soon.3

@Pupowl my neice has the same chair it's very comfy. Was it a Billy bookcase ? My sister & I have undone & reassembled her 2 shelf units about 4 times when she wanted them in a different room. Its satisfying to get things done on your own isn't it ? .Eventhough you may need to ask for help sometimes.
I had a fab weekend at a 1940s event in a seaside town about 1 & a half hours drive from me.I stayed over on Friday night at my friend's house & her friend came on Sat morning & drove to the hotel. The weather was lovely on the Saturday & a bit windy on the Sunday.Thankfully no rain.
There were stalls of clothes & army regalia.Vintage cars & aircraft.A big tent with singers & entertainment.
Loads of people dressed up & the costumes were amazing. There was a Dance on the Sat night with singers & a great band.We danced alot, maybe a bit too much as my knees & hips are quite sore.
This is me next to a Vintage Morris Minor.

I had a pretty good day today. I got in a 6 mile ride this morning before driving my brother to San Francisco for a medical appointment at UCSF Medical Offices. I skipped breakfast, but we stopped on the way for lunch around 11am. While he was at his appointment, I took what turned out to be a pretty short hike, only 2.12 miles, but that took me 74 minutes! It was a rocky, rough trail with plenty of elevation changes, steps, tree branches, foliage, etc. I had planned on at least a 3 mile hike and 10,000 steps, but I was only at ~7,600 steps when I finished. I would have continued my hike but he called to say he was done with his appointment. Returning from San Francisco in the afternoon can take a long time (very heavy commuter traffic), so we stopped on the way to possibly take in a movie during the heavy traffic hours. But we found nothing of interest, so we had some sushi and continued home. I got home at 7pm, hopped on my bike for a ~4 mile ride, and did some cardio to get to 10,000 steps. So, 2 days down and 12 to go for my Ride to 200 (km) challenge.

@looneycatblue Ouch, 3 cats is a lot. I am glad I just have one, he keeps me plenty busy. Rescues are the best. Tinus is a shelter kitty. Would love to see some pictures of them!
@izzyred9400 It is a Kallax unit. They are also pretty popular I think, though not as famous as Billy. I personally prefer Kallax because they are so boxy and sturdy and being able to use them as a divider is great. Sounds like you had a great time! You look awesome in your picture, love your outfit and hair. I hope you have recovered from all the dancing!
@frankwbrown I can see why that walk took you a while, looks very tricky. You are killing it with your movement/workouts!3 -
Hello Shape Shifters. Yesterday ended up being a super busy day. I started with a walk. I often do the same little loop lately which is around 55-60 minutes. Yesterday I decided to take a new path that branched off my usual walk. I figured I could go straight a while, take a right and head back, but that didn't really end up happening, lol. I had a lot of fun though and it was a really nice section of forest. One area was fenced off to protect the plants and young trees from the deer. There was also an area you weren't allowed to go. It looked like some sort of monument or grave in the middle of the forest. I still need to look up what it is. Anyway, I ended up walking for 95 minutes, so quite a bit longer than the usual route.
After the walk I biked to the grocery store for some bananas, lemonade and treats for Tinus. Then it was time for a shower, a quick breakfast and then I had to head out again to go to the vet. Tinus was very good for his injection.
In the afternoon I started getting books from upstairs to fill up the new bookcase in the living room. I really like that I can put books on either side which means I have room for a lot of them. I left some in the guest room because otherwise all the shelves there would be empty. I still ended up with a lot of empty space which is good because I always want more books! I don't think I have that many now. There are a couple of series I love to reread that I don't have physical copies of so I think I will start with those first. It feels a bit of a waste to buy books I have already read, but I much prefer reading paperbacks so it will be worth it.
When I was done moving everything, I biked to another store to pick up a piece of white cardboard. I cut them the right size so I could put them in the bird frames since I didn't have backing paper for them. The background of the artwork turned out not to be white, but a light beige, so it doesn't match perfectly, but it is better than before. I also put the led candles I got from my mom with them which I think looks really fun. I just need to get two candle holders. I looked online but couldn't find any I liked so I plan to visit the thrift store tomorrow. Then I also cut some carpet tile to size to fit in one of the openings of the bookcase. I left the middle one empty on purpose so Tinus has a place to go through and sit. I didn't have any tile that was wide enough, so I had to use two pieces. I think it looks fine though and Tinus won't care.
I was beyond tired by this point, but I still had to do my gym rings workout. I really lost that habit and hadn't done it for around 2 months. I already planned to start Sunday, but I was really sore and busy with my dad so I figured Monday would be better. Of course then I decided to do all that other stuff, so it didn't end up making a difference though I was less sore. I am starting with 3 sets of 8 reps again and working back up to 3x12. The workout went well and I enjoyed it once I got going. I ended the day with 23k steps and went to bed early. I hope I am not boring you all too much with the house talk. I am done for now though, promise! Have a good day everyone!

Hello Shape Shifters. I think all the house work is catching up with me because I have been exhausted. On Tuesday I went for another long walk. I did some more exploring in the new area and took some different trails. I had a good time again and I found a couple of feathers, though they were all in pretty rough shape. I actually used to collect feathers before I learned it was illegal to take them home and keep them. I still have a wooden box of them at home because they are cool and I don't have the heart to throw them away. I can't even remember when I started saving the pretty and special feathers, but it has been a long time. I suspect this is the only crime I will commit in my life, so I can live with that, lol.
When I got home, I was very frustrated to see I only got 8 zone minutes for a 1h 27m walk. I don't understand how that is even possible. The two previous days were very different and I got plenty. I just can't imagine that on Tuesday my heart suddenly didn't feel like working. I wonder if it is a problem with my Fitbit. It is not the first time it has happened either and it is really annoying because then I feel like I didn't do anything for my heart health. Here is the data from Fitbit for the 3 walks: The rest of my day was pretty relaxing. Tinus was very lazy and he wanted to take a nap outside. So I grabbed a book and read outside for over 30 minutes while he was sleeping in the sun. It was cute. I also started and finished a 500 piece puzzle. I loved it and it had a manatee on it which always gets bonus points from me since they are one of my favourite animals.
I went to bed on time and hoped to sleep in a bit on Wednesday. My bladder didn't agree with that plan and when I get up to pee, Tinus came charging into the bedroom, meowing his silly head off and wanting cuddles so I gave up and got up at 6:40. I finally sold one of the cat trees. I would have liked some more for it, but I also just want them gone, so I accepted a 65 euro bid (asking was 80, but that was a bit high/optimistic). The lady could pick it up the same day which was nice. Now I just have to huge tree left to sell.
I had a super lazy day and planned to ignore my step goal. Of course I couldn't let it be so I did a bunch of stepping in the evening to get to my 14k goal. When I was in bed, my brain wouldn't be quiet and I was thinking of all the things I still needed to do around the house. The next area I want to make better is the laundry/storage room. Thinking about all that stuff meant I couldn't sleep. I didn't feel like staying awake in bed so I got up again and played a video game for a while. A big spider also came to say hello. I saw him creeping up on the wall and he was a little too big and scary for my liking, so I caught him and put him outside. When I finally went to bed, it was around 0:40 which is really late for me, but I was tired enough that I fell asleep fast. Though I didn't get enough sleep, I did sleep pretty well. I am guessing today will also be a lazy day. Have a good day everyone3 -

D12/75 went well, the scale doesn't seem to be moving though. I was hoping that since the weight went on over about a 3 week time period that it didn't have time to take up permanent residence. Such is not the case.
@Pupowl Good for you! I cannot say that I would've done the same with the spider.2 -
I’ve seen some great losses and strong workouts this week! Congratulations, Shape Shifters!
This week has been packed with tasks to help my son move and my mother and her aunt (my great aunt) age in place. It feels good to accomplish some of the jobs on my list, but my body has been sore everyday after hours of cleaning.
I’ve been reading all your posts, and appreciate the energy and encouragement you all bring to the Shape Shifter Chat. I’ll look forward to posting a few updates after I return home from Boston.
Today, I’m trying to see some people before I leave, and tomorrow I’m taking my mother for a driving assessment. I suspect they will recommend surrendering her license, which will likely feel like a big loss of independence, even though she hasn’t been driving lately. There’s still some cleaning, unpacking, and decluttering left to do with my son and mother but I’m satisfied with the amount of work we accomplished. I hope you all enjoy the weekend and make some progress toward your goals!4 -
