I've felt really scattered lately. I'm having a hard time focusing on anything, including diet and exercise. Food has especially been pretty poor lately. At least for exercise, I feel like I HAVE to go on walks to get my boys out of the house. But the gym has been hit or miss lately.
I need to get back to basics. Logging food. Portion control. Eating vegetables once in a while. A clear plan for running. And just focus. I think I'll try to report back here everyday for the week, just to help focus my mind a bit.
A new week is starting, so it's a good time for a fresh start. Let's have a good week!5 -

Today wasn't perfect but I made some good decisions in there. I tracked most of my food, but there were more than a few bites here and there that weren't recorded. I think I stayed within calories, even with guesstimating the extras.
As we were getting the boys ready for bed, my husband decided he was going to order ice cream and asked if I wanted any. So I had to decide- ice cream or go to the gym. It was a tough decision, but I told him no, I didn't want any. Well, turns out, he still ordered more than enough for both of us. I almost gave in, but I dragged my butt to the gym and the ice cream is still in the freezer.
I ran 4.25 miles, which I'm pretty happy about. I'm trying to work up to a 10k, and am finally starting to feel like I'm making good progress.
So overall, I think I had a pretty good day and made decisions that will help me get closer to my goals. I just have to tighten up some of my mindless bites. I would also like to work in some body weight type exercises, but I've said that about a thousand times before and have never been able to stick to it, so realistically... we'll see. It's not at the top of my list at the moment.5 -

Last week was not great. I started feeling seizury again, and it contributed to me being able to move a lot less. It also means I need to eat enough to avoid seizures. So even though I kept track of everything, here I am back up higher than I started. Yay. I know it isn't forever, but it doesn't make me happy. I know it's a glitch in the road. I'm committed to feeling better and moving more, so here's hoping I get well enough to actually do it.6 -
@sunshinezombiegirl1 is there a safer indoor activity you can do? Hope this passes for you even temporarily. I don't have epilepsy but spent 6 months of my life with vasovagal syncope and seizures unable to drive or go to work and randomly passing out from an affected nerve. My exercise was in front of the tv where I stayed very close to the couch in case I felt a blackout event coming on. Specialists thought I cought a virus or a fungus from the soils in Northern California forests where I was hiking that infected my nervous system and thankfully it went away. It did super suck to not be able to do normal things and at that time my focus was on trying to stay safe and not return to the ER.
Wish better health for you and sending strength your way!

Hurricane Milton landed on Wed and caused a ruckus in our small town ..among many others.. we lost power and some people and businesses are still out. so we have had to get creative with our meals. I am thankful this was the worst of it for us, as there are so many that have lost there homes and belongings5 -
@Krysless2 Good to hear you are safe. We don't have any steps from you for last week. Do you want me to put zeros or do you have steps?1

I don’t know how much time everyone has to look through other posts, I found this thread helpful and thought others might as well.

@Krysless2 So glad to hear you made it safely through Milton...had no idea you were in Florida! My niece is just outside of Melbourne, so wasn't too bad for her, but the Gulf side took quite the beating. So glad you're alright...

Just checking in again to help me stay focused.
Today was not a great day. My boys have been quite stressful lately. As a result, eating was not good today. I had a rather high calorie breakfast and McDonald's for lunch, followed by some ice cream. To try to minimize damage, I had a small dinner. I was still over on calories for the day though.
And since my eating was timed poorly, I didn't have enough energy for a good run. I only ran 2 miles before I decided I just didn't want to struggle through it. I did some extra walking on the mill, though. But overall, it was not a good workout. I also did a 30 minutes morning walk and a 15 minute walk in the evening- what we call our night-night walk, a quick walk around the block right before the boys go to bed.
I'm going to try to control my eating a bit better tomorrow and time it better for giving me energy when I need it. We have physical and speech therapies in the morning, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to squeeze in a morning walk beforehand, and the weather is still a bit warm to be going for walks later in the day. But I'll see if I can squeeze one in somewhere.7 -

Yesterday, I overate due to visiting (I overeat when other people eat). I almost made my step count, but I've been going to bed/sleep around 7 pm because my brain is not working right.
@globalhiker My problem is that I'm too dizzy to stand up and move around when I feel l like this. It's exhausting to sit up (because of my prioperception issues). Unfortunately, I have to ride it out and lie down a lot.

Were there issues with MFP earlier today or something...I usually keep my browser open to our team page and today it said page not found...took me a few tries to get the page to load, so it made me wonder if it was due to issues earlier...anybody?
