My weight is TOTALLY screwing with me. Middle of the week, nowhere near weigh in day, I'm down 3.5 lb. ><

Keep going... I'm sure you will see progress on the scale soon. You might want to switch-up your weigh-in day for your own sanity!

I'm thinking of trying intermittent fasting, in addition to less calories and eating better. It's occurred to me that the days I experience losses, I've inadvertently had my eating mirror that idea. And I need to start eating more regularly, rather than hodge podge, and that might help. I'm also reaching my goal of 5,000 steps pretty often now, so I think it's time to raise the goal.

It’s been a rough week so far. My husband’s grandfather passed away. The funeral was yesterday.
There has been so much loss the past couple months.
My mom and my best friend’s mom both passed in December and now my husband’s grandfather.
I know it will be ok, it’s just a matter of getting there. I miss my mom so much, it was unexpected and sudden. She was only 71.

    Thank you for reading.

    Very sorry for your losses…😞🙏🏻

@morenin - Fluctuations are frustrating. It might be worth shifting your weigh-in day if there is a pattern to your weekly changes but the longer term (downward!) trajectory is the most important line to watch! 📉 😉 Congratulations on building your step habit and continuing to challenge yourself!
    💪🎉💪

@CasandraW - I’m sorry to hear about the death of your husband’s grandfather. I’m sure it stirred thoughts of your mother — grief is hard!

@angmarie28 – 🥶 Luckily we warm up from our workout but starting is often the challenge for me. Good idea to crank the heat in your garage so it will be warmer after the school drop off!

@p8m6bwghh9 - Yes, the maintenance phase can be a struggle. I was able to sustain my loss for a year but then gradually gained. You’re doing great making quick adjustments, and it’s smart of you to stay connected with the group while you make the transition to maintenance 🤩

Today, I had a relatively productive work day, picked up my new eyeglasses, and finished a book I was reading. I talked to both of my sons by phone - one late this afternoon and one this evening - so that brought me joy. My eating wasn’t great, but it wasn’t outrageous either. I’m trying to find some life balance and today felt good overall. Tomorrow is a clean slate. Go Shape Shifters!

My weight has been as high as 150 this past week, so I'm quite pleased with this even though it is still a gain. I had a few bad days where I ate too much of the wrong stuff. I'm happy I was able to get it back under control and kept it only at a few days.

My boys are staying home this weekend, instead of going to my mom's. This helps keep me on a schedule and I tend to stray from the plan less when everything is normal. I need to do some meal planning and possibly prep so I can make some progress this next week instead of just doing damage control.

Ay yi yi! I had a dental implant done earlier this week, and have been living on soups all week. So I thought, “I’ll have a great loss this week because all I’m eating are soups.” WRONG! Yes, I ate soup all week, but I never accounted for all the sodium I was taking in! My husband’s matzo ball soup is the best! But all that salt? Yikes! Well, it is what is it. I’m back to normal eating, and will pay a LOT more attention to my sodium intake going forward!

My nutrition has been pretty awful these past couple weeks and I've felt like I've also been in a rut for activity and sleep :( Feeling like I need a little reset. Going to try my best to get back to tracking first.

Hope you all are keeping well.

Happy Valentine's Day! I love seeing all the decorations, flowers and colourful packages in store. I treated myself to 6 pieces of Valentines candy from my grocers bulk bin, it was enough to hit the spot. I think i should do this more often when i have a sugar craving. Overall my eating has been ok, as long as I don't bring undesirable foods into the home. I'm in week 7 of training for my next half marathon, this is a slippery slope for me - anytime I increase exercise my body demands more food and I generally overdo it. One year ago I was training for my first half marathon and I gained a ton of weight during the process. Balancing all that with a full time desk monkey job... anyways, love reading all the posts, sorry I don't chit chat too much but you're all leading fun and inspiring lives and thanks for sharing!

Hello Shape Shifters. I haven't posted in a hot minute, so just wanted to update you all. I had my first gym workout on Monday. I am not too unhappy with the schedule, though I would prefer more weight stuff and less body only things. On Tuesday it was mostly my legs that were very sore. Sitting down was more like falling down because my muscles were not working. Tuesday evening my arms started to hurt a lot, mostly my right one and I thought at first it was because I was being behind my pc too much since I do also have RSI. On Wednesday I was in actual agony. I almost couldn't use my right arm at all and I had really bad pain on the inside and top of my lower arms and around my elbow. I had planned my second gym workout for Wednesday, but that obviously wasn't going to happen. I tried using a massage gun later in the day and that did seem to help. Thursday afternoon, most of the pain was gone. I am still not exactly sure why it was so extreme and also fairly short lived since it was only there for 2 days. Doesn't seem very typical of simple muscle pain in my experience.
On Thursday I also got a migraine aura. It was pretty bad, my whole vision was messed up and I couldn't even read anymore. It lasted around 20 minutes and then poof, vision all normal again. 30 minutes after that, I got the mother of all migraines. I had just made tea, felt the stabbing start up and basically dropped everything and went to bed at 18:40, lol. I was in bed for over 12 hours. The first 3 I was awake with the migraine, but after that I did manage to get some decent sleep. This morning it was like nothing had happened. So I was able to go for my second gym workout earlier today. Still only doing 2 sets of everything which is challenging enough. If the muscle pains are in a normal range tomorrow, I will try the regular 3 sets on Monday. I took some pictures of my schedule that I will put under the spoiler if you are curious.
Tinus has been very lazy this week. It has been cold and we got a pile of snow on Wednesday as well. So far this entire week, he has only been outside once. He just likes being warm and cozy inside and on my lap I guess. He is still very playful and runs around like a maniac in the evening, so in that sense he isn't slowing down much. I will put some other stuff in the spoiler as well. Happy Friday everyone <3
