HERE WE GO! Please share your Spring goals!

Starting on Thursday, March 20th and running through June 20th, the first day of SUMMER!
My goal is to do at least 20 minutes of activity at least five times per week (including walking to and from work most weekdays), to cut out consumption of all alcoholic beverages and to consistently log food, water and activity daily, with Total calories kept under 1,450 per day. I would ideally like to lose 10-15 lbs. by Summer. How about YOU?

Welcome, Marlene @DancesWithDogz! I love your screen name and avatar photo! I don't know what you mean by "old" - I used to think my age (66.5) was old but not anymore! I also like how you mentioned dancing - I love to dance too! I'm even planning to start hula hooping again! 15 lbs. is a quite reasonable goal for 3 months, especially if you're doing 20 minutes of activity on most days and keeping within a manageable calorie range. I'm hyped! l'm hoping to lose that as well.
Very best wishes!

Hi Carole ( @Walela617 ) No… I am not old in my mind lol - But compared to many on here (those in their 30s, 40s, 50s) I would be considered old I think.
I will be 65 in May - yikes! Looks strange even typing that! I am in the youth of my senior years. Hula hooping sounds like so much fun!! Good luck with your goals.

My avatar is my old pup Jake - we lost him in 2022 - he was 14 (along with our other black lab - 12 - within 2 months of each other) Still have our border collie mix - but she is almost 15 - we will see for how much longer we will be lucky to have her.

Hello everyone,
Looking forward to the longer day today!
Dear Marlene @DancesWithDogz I was so sorry to learn of your two very special companions passing! I hope your remaining one stays with you a long time. I successively had two cats before this one and each lasted 18 years. This one I acquired recently is a little over three years old. She's had a rough start on life so she is still acclimating, gradually.
Hi, @cormierannie those are very worthy goals! I need to start strength training too. Welcome!
So far I'm doing fairly well with my food logging. I'm so happy I got to open my window for a bit today! I want to start walking to and from work again, beginning tomorrow. It's about 2.3 miles (each way); so that should help!
Have a nice evening. I'll check back in soon.

Hi, everyone. I’m Amy.
I’m 56, married, empty nester. I keep busy, but I’ve let good habits slip to the wayside. This summer has a fun roadtrip, concerts, and a wedding, so it’s time to improve my stamina and physique.
I'm excited for this challenge. I do best when I have accountability partners. I look forward to cheering your successes! My daily goals:
Logging in MFP
96 oz H2O
30 minutes activity, usually walking
6 hrs of sleep each nightMy 3 month goal:
Lose enough to go from obese to overweight. That’s 24 lbs from my current weight. If I can get within 10, I’ll be happy, within 5, even better!1 -
Hi everyone! I am looking forward to this challenge, but also looking forward to SUMMER!
I am on a weightloss journey (for the second time), and am hoping to get back to the weight where I felt the most comfortable (155 lbs).
But for this Spring into Summer challenge, I'll aim to lose 10 pounds (with a "stretch" goal of 15). This won't put me at my ultimate goal weight, but it will still put me at 45-50lbs lower than my highest ever! So I'll be super happy if I can achieve this by the end of the challenge!
My goals are:
-Get in daily movement, at least 30 min-Intentional exercise at least 4 times/week
-Little to no alcohol (less than 2 drinks/month)
-Eat both what I want, and what I need :)
I look forward to hearing all about your challenge journeys!
Warm regards,
Sarah1 -
Hello! I'm Kimberly; I'm 43 and married with two daughters (17 & 12 years old). My oldest is graduating from high school in May, so I'd like to lose some weight before then.
My goals are:
-Walking 30-60 minutes at least 5 times a week
-Aim for at least 25g of protein at breakfast, lunch, & dinner
-Drink at least 64 oz water each day
-Track everything (I'm trying to get into the habit of tracking all my food again)
My ultimate goal is to lose 50 pounds, but I'll aim for 15 pounds for this challenge.

Hi Everyone! I rejoined MFP in January after I turned the big 5 0 last summer which I simply don’t comprehend. I mentally feel like I am in my early to mid 30s at most. I have a very active life especially with my union (CUPE), Toastmasters, a Community Emergency Response Team, school, work, family, various volunteer roles, numerous hobbies, friends, etc.
My goals for this challenge are:
Lose 15 lbs
Hike once a week depending on weather (I am a crybaby when it comes to the cold and snow)
Go swimming once a week
Eat more veggies (there are very few I like and even then I can’t eat them regularly or I get sick of them)
Develop and maintain a regular skin and hair care routine
Listen to a meditation podcast once a week (I suck at meditating as my brain is constantly going like a hamster in a wheel)So, a little bit from all sorts of things that make up a healthy lifestyle. I am starting with really small exercise goals because I like exercise as much as I like vegetables.
I really like seeing the variety of goals you all have. Remember to include things to support mental health as well!
Sincerely
True

It looks like most of us are aiming to lose 10-15 lbs. by Summer. That's a very reasonable expectation.
Let's GO!🌷

I am looking forward to this challenge beginning. One of my goals I mentioned was to develop and maintain a skin and hair routine so in preparation I went to Lush today and bought some products. I have been trying out some meditation podcasts as well to see which ones I like.
I always like to have a plan before I start something. One of my mantras is, “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”.
How do each of you approach a new challenge like this one?

Hi @EternalTruth ! Welcome!
I always approach new groups and challenges by viewing it as a "reset" to "turn the page" and look ahead. It's always energizing to make a fresh start - the key is to keep that momentum going!
I make new charts to track my progress and get inspiration by reading posts from other MFP members on an similar journey.
My plan is to average at least 9,000 steps per day on most weekdays and to diligently track calories in my food diary. I also plan to keep up my water intake and to get at least 6 hours of sleep per night. (That's really good for me.) I want to get my Fitbit sleep score to average in the 80's and I want to get my blood pressure back down to a healthy range.
LET'S GO!🏃

If you're on a desktop computer or laptop, Shift+Enter should give you a single line return (instead of the default double line). I haven't figured out how to do this from the phone on the app yet, but if I do, I will make sure to share with the group!

Hi everyone,
My weight is NOW 161.8 as of this morning - Oh, NOoooo! I hit a "bump in the road" and "fell off the wagon"; so today I decided to hit "RESET" by deleting all my previous weight entries and updated my starting weight to TODAY, April 4, 2025.
I had to scale back my social networking a bit because I've been getting a little overwhelmed; so I'm going to jump off some of the boards I had joined in order to regain some time and hopefully improve my focus.
I am definitely staying with THIS group though! I am in it for the long haul and plan to stay with it until at least June 20 - the FIRST day of SUMMER! 🌞
Very best wishes to all on your own, personal "Wellness Journey"! I will post my weight here every week and will post before/after stats (from March 20th and again for June 20th) both on the weigh-in discussion board and on the stats discussion board.
Have a great weekend!
