lays on floor How can I be so busy, yet accomplish nothing? Anyway, I didn't walk on the treadmill today, but I DID walk an extra 1,000 steps just doing stuff. I think I'm going to add meditation to my habit list, the chaos that is my life is weighing me down. I keep overindulging in junk to feel better. >< Definitely not healthy.

@morenin OMG can I relate to that! I feel like I'm so busy that I don't have time to do things that I want, yet if you asked me what I was busy doing I couldn't tell you. 😕 YAY! for getting those extra 1,000 steps!

@morenin and @DaffyGirl88— Add me to the list of Shape Shifters wondering where the time goes! I’ve found myself snacking in the evenings as a procrastination tactic, telling myself I just need a little break to collect the energy needed to get some task done. Instead, I’m left wondering where the time went AGAIN and kicking myself for wasting time.
I’ve been this way for about a week so I hope I can snap out of the negative streak today. A couple of times, I saw the light at the other end of the tunnel so I need to gather that little momentum and buckle down! On Saturday, I had a slow morning so I stayed at the YMCA after my personal trainer appointment to run on the treadmill. I need to “stack” habits like that more often — I ran about 3.5 miles and burned the extra calories I had eaten that morning. Last night, I forced myself to stay up until I finished a work project so I could at least feel good about accomplishing one solid task!
Personally, I need to stop putting everyone else’s needs before my own but it’s been hard because I’m enjoying my younger son being back home from college. It felt so nice spending Sunday with my son, preparing an udon noodle dish for him to bring to a party with his friends. It turned out delicious - and he was working so hard to make everything perfect for the get-together at his girlfriend’s house - but I should have managed my time better that day. It’s so much easier to focus on everyone else’s life to avoid my own 🙃
I’m going to turn this around today! Hang in there, everyone — Let’s do this! 😥

Monday: Strong Seniors, Gentle Yoga and walk inside
Finished the Garmin Beat Yesterday challenges today and realized I don’t like paying that much attention to time when I walk 🙂

Since I mentioned it above, I thought I’d share a picture of the udon noodle dish here — though it’s hard to see anything except the lion’s mane mushroom and the topping of scallions and roasted sesame seeds! I’ll share the recipe below since it’s not terribly high in calories. We used bok choy but you could substitute any hardy vegetables (e.g., cabbage, broccoli)

Just wanted to share my lovely view as the sun sets on our little corner of Miami

We just left this morning for our trip to the lake. We are taking our time driving, and plan to spend a day sightseeing in Nashville along the way. Our kids and my husband’s family will be meeting us in Virginia.
Looking over my stats, I discovered I have a NSV to share! For those unaware, I had a total knee replacement a little over two years ago. Then last fall, I had an arthritis flare up in my “good” knee. Knock on wood, both knees have been improving, and I am seeing strength improvements in other areas.
Anyway, I was looking over my Fitbit stats and realized that in the past week I have met my meager step goal 3 times! The biggest thing-this was done without going for a walk-all the steps were from my daily activities!
Here’s hoping that all this sitting in the car won’t mess things up again!

@cre804 Sounds like a good adventure. Since you're going to take your time, I suggest stopping at pull-over vistas along the way, and spend a few minutes walking around, stretching, touching your toes, and doing some squats (to get the blood circulating).
(disclaimer: "I am not a doctor, I don't even play one on TV.") 🙂
