@izzyred9400 Since you always get in a lot of steps, I left your step goal at 12,000. I think you should stick with that, unless you're absolutely certain you want to change it to 1200. 😉😂
The beach would be my favourite place to walk too, but the nearest one is 100 miles from here!

Since your Fitbit is/was on the blink, I suggest you use a miles-to-steps calculator to estimate your steps. Here's one of many:
You give it your sex, height, pace and distance and it gives you a step estimate. I would estimate your steps for yesterday's 4.6 miles to be ~10,000-11,000.
In any case, we need to enter something in the table for your steps Sunday thru yesterday.
Anything's better than zero.2 -
@frankwbrown Oh no another typo ! I really need to get some readers.Yes of course I meant my usual step goal of 12000.I liked your comment on your great nephew's funny walks. My best friend & I were huge fans of Monty Python around the late 70s.I must correct you as I'm sure it was the Ministry of funny walks.I still have cassette tapes of them that my friend sent to me whilst I was living in Greece around that time.
3 -
@izzyred9400 I'm afraid I must correct both you and @DaffyGirl88, though you're both half right:
It's neither Monty Python's Bureau of Silly Walks
nor Monty Python's Ministry of Funny Walks…
it is in fact Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks. 😂I discovered Monty Python in the early 1970's, while stationed in England during my time in the USAF. For those that don't have a clue what we're talking about, here it is:

Thanks for sharing the video, @frankwbrown. Monty Python was very popular when I was growing up so @DaffyGirl88’s comment made me laugh so hard — still picturing the three generations of silly walkers! 😂🤣😂
I’ve always thought the silly walkers would make a great last minute Halloween costume! One of these years …

@PatriceFitnessPal Before I even knew who/what Monty Python was, I saw this sketch. The people I was with, I think, had as much fun watching my reaction/disbelief as they did watching the sketch.
So this one will always be one of my favorites, right up there with the Argument sketch.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9U0tDU37q2M

@frankwbrown — Yes, I can imagine that! Now I’m smiling at the thought of how nice it feels when surrounded by good friends and laughter! 😊 — the joy of introducing fun to others and sharing an experience. We need more silly fun in the world today. The next time I feel contrary, I’m just going to think of “The Argument” and drop it instead. Thanks for another laugh to start my day!
P.S. The link above took me to another funny Python skit so I just looked up The Argument, rather than argue that you/Frank sent me to a different clip. 😂🤣😂3 -

just popped in to say HELLO to all my Shape Shifter teammates!
Looks like you all are doing great! Amazing number of steps by so many of you! I fell and have hurt my other foot/ankle. Now both my feet/ankles are “problem children.” I have to see a specialist Monday morning. I’m guessing I’ll be in a walking boot. X-rays show I fractured it. RICE for me for now - very little walking.
I’m going to make more of an effort to focus on food choices while I’m sedentary. I had a couple of stress overeating days recently and am trying to reset my brain.
Have a great day everyone!

@PatriceFitnessPal Yes, Monty Python - Climbing the North Face of the Uxbridge Road was my first experience of Monty Python! (unfortunately, on YouTube the surprise is given away at the start)
Argument - Monty Python is one of my favorites, because I'm a fan of logic/critical reasoning.
favorite part of the sketch:
Palin: Well, an argument's not the same as contradiction.
Cleese: Can be.
Palin: No, it can't. An argument's a collective series of statements to establish a definite proposition.
Cleese: No, it isn't.
Palin: Yes, it is, it isn't just contradiction.
Cleese: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
Palin: But it isn't just saying No it isn't.
Cleese: Yes, 'tis.
Palin: No, it isn't. (and pauses at what he just said)LOL 🤣

🔖Notes: ~ My stepson is here staying with us until Friday —fresh out of a rehab/detox center. Long-story-short, he made a few, very BIG, very BAD mistakes back to back, which led him to this point. So I’ve been working on helping him through it by immersing myself into his “healing” thought process. Which includes a lot of self-reflection, meditation and we’ve added my exercise regimen to the mix (although he claimed his back hurt this morning, so we skipped today’s workout)Tuesday we called up this meditation center which is two houses down from my daughter. And they invited us to eat a Thai food lunch and serve the Monks!! It was a such a cool experience and my daughter just loved it! Now for me, I ate something so spicy that it physically hurt and ruined the rest of my lunch. But we definitely plan to go again. I will not be eating lunch next time.
➖ Stayed low carb yesterday but we still ate out for dinner. The local down-home buffet isn’t really available to log things accurately

Day 5 of my 20 min a day for 30 days. Just finished today's walk. Getting ready to do my strength exercises and then head to bed…hoping to read for a bit before I pass out, but who knows…yesterday, I did my walk, but was in some pain when I finished so I wasn't online…just went to bed.
Hope your week is going well…tomorrow is Friday!! WOOHOOooo! Hoping for a relaxing and quiet weekend…

@frankwbrown of course it was silly walks I knew funny didn't sound right. The clip gave me a giggle.I used to enjoy the Lumberjack song & many of the sketches.
As a garmin expert I wanted to ask you a question.I put my swim in the sea yesterday as an open water swim.Just wondered if this would count towards a swimming badge ? Or maybe just pool swims count ? It measures distance & time in both so in theory it should be the same.

@izzyred9400 I'm pretty sure open water swimming counts toward the swim badge, toward both distance and time — when there is a time-based swim challenge, which there isn't this month. I've only done open water swimming a couple times, several years ago now. It's easy to check: click on Challenges.. See all current challenges, then click on one of the swim challenges. It'll tell you where you're at in the challenge.
