hey guys I just did the 30DS and omg haha I also had a hard time with the jumping jacks so I also modified it, She doesn't have the breast that I have lol I Have a good sports bra but it still hurt a lot. and my thighs are burning me but I'm going to go do my walking in a it.

As for Zumba, I really love the class. I go 4 days a week and I know I'm not doing all the moves right but I just laugh it off and keep going. I am also the biggest person there but at lest a good 150-200 lbs But its not stoping me.

As for my Blister I do get them a lot, I never pop them but I do put bandaids on them to cover or if I have the blister bandaids I'll use thought, at one time I had 5 on my feet, but I just pushed thought it. But you guys are doing amazing. Keep it up and I love reading about everyones adventure. :)

I just walked 4 miles and I tried the c25k and it was really hard on my one knee. I may have to hold off on that until I lose more weight, but I'm going to try it again this week and see how it is, But how do you guys put in the 30DS on your exercise? what do you type in to add it?

Yeah, the other day when I did a little of the 30DS workout I just jogged in place and did the jumping jack arms...when I tried to do the actual jumping jacks for some reason in hurt my knee. Not sure what that's about. LOL

@Sadie: THANK YOU!!! It felt really great!! Omgosh!!! that is a helluva workout Lady!! Woo!! Makes me realize how SOFT us Californians are!!!! I couldn't do it! lol.

@skittles: Good job getting everything in!!! WOOO your exercise schedule makes me tired just THINKING about it! LOL. Also, I haven't done it yet but my plan is to log it in under "cardiovascular"...and there is an exercise "Calisthenics, Vigorous effort"...that seems pretty appropriate to me.

I'm soooo proud of myself today Ladies!!!! Soo, I have a friend that I'm doing C25K with and she cancelled on me this morning...also it was cold and rainy outside and I just DID NOT feel like working out. BUT not only did I go out...I actually did my OUTDOOR run today! We go to the gym and jog on the treadmill twice a week and then outside once a week. It's obviously much harder to do the outside run, especially in the wind and rain...but I DID IT!! And not only that but I completed two, 3 minute jogs! The last time we were in the gym on the treadmill I could only do the first one and then I stopped halfway through the second. I was sooo proud of myself when I made it all the way through!

Anyway, I know this thread is about 30DS but i just had to share!! LOL.

Here's to us having a GREAT week!!!!

Star your doing great and you should be very proud of your self :) I know this is also about the 30DS but I also think its great to talk about what else we are doing. I feel it will help us stay on track and I wish I could walk as much as you do, I have to push my self to hit 4 miles lol. and its not because I am in pain or anything its just I'm getting board haha. I'm going to go walk some in a bit, then I have zumba and my body pump class tonight. Everyone have a great day

@star thats really great you went out in the rain and did your run. I'd love to be outside but its just still to cold here in PA. so I stay in side. I have a treadmill at my complex gym so I use that, but once the weather is better I'll be outside.

    Hey girls!

Awesome job Star on getting your jogs in and for going out and doing it! I think we can all relate to what an accomplishment that is!

Skittles, I'm wondering if your shoes aren't right for you...that's a lot of blistering! I get my shoes from the Running Room here, they assess your walk, and recommend shoes and I've never had a blister from my shoes from there. Do you have anything like that in PA?

There is a formula to figure out the calories burned for the 30DS that I found on this site that comes from Jillian's site, so I use that and enter "my exercise" for it, here is the formula: (3.267Xweight)divided by 3.

I'm off to do the shred in a few minutes. I work from home most days, so instead of coffee and a smoke (yes I know) break I'm gonna do the shred. :D

I walk outside every day for the dog, unless there's an extreme cold warning. I just bundle up - but I used to be a skier, so I have the gear and it's amazing. I'm NEVER cold in my gear. If I didn't have the dog, not sure I'd get out there. :)

    Have a great day!

I was thinking it was my shoes or socks, I got my shoes at ****s sporting goods maybe 3 months ago and I even got better socks, but I just don't know.

I hate the cold and snow but in PA it happens every year lol. and I am thinking of getting a a band or something to keep track of my cal burn and how many miles I do when I'm not on the treadmill

also today I did walking and the 30DS and I also did my zumba and body pump. I had a busy day but I don't feel to bad. I know I'm going to sleep good tonight. Well everyone have a great night and talk with you tomorrow

@skittles: That 9 mile walk was just an exercise event that I did with this meetup group that I organize...my normal walk is just 3.12 miles. BUT You are sooooo rockin it out with all of your various workouts. Does your appetite increase with all that working out??? It seems like mine is with just adding the running.

@Sadie: Thanks! And thanks for the formula...that actually ends up giving me a higher burn than the way I was doing it...and the way I was sweating I think that may be better. lol. GOOD FOR YOU for swapping out the tobacco for the shred!!! :cheer:

Just finished my first 30DS workout and even though it was a challenge...it wasn't as hard and she wasn't as annoying as I had built it up to in my mind. LOL. I'm going to by some 3lb hand weights.

On the DOWN side!!! I had a ROUGH day as far as eating. For some reason I was CRAVING SUGAR AND JUNK like CRAZY!!! I haven't felt like that in a long time...and I just caved like a sack of potatoes. I feel soooooo sick right now. :(

I think next week I'm going to do a juice cleanse to get these cravings out of my system.

its weird that it typed in little ** when I was talking about a store, but the word is (bad) haha but thats the store name.

and yes I want more food from working out, its funny. I was telling my Husband about it the other day. I feel like I need more food now and he told me that is Normal. I also was craving something the one day and I had a bit of it and felt sick after, because my body wasn't use to having it. so I think I'm going to stay away from things like that. I know I want them but in the long run I don't feel well after eating it.

I am also going to try to do that formula for the 30DS and my walking isn't bad I don't walk really fast. but I don't know if anyone else has this problem but my thighs run together when I walk so its been hurting, so I have been using corn starch which really helps my mom told me about it. I just hate that part the most. I am still a little sore but the rubbing is worse. sorry if that was a TMI.

As for todays work out. Walking which is every day. I want to get 4 miles in. and zumba. I tried the C25K again and my knees just can't take it yet. so I'm going to hold off on that until I get to maybe 300 but I am thinking of adding another day of the 30DS.
Have a great day and can't wait to hear how everyone is doing today

    Hi lovelies!

We're doing so well, so proud of us, let's keep it up!

Very quick post by me today, as I just got assigned another project and my slow days have turned into CRAZY days! My work is very much peaks and valleys and I'm heading into a massive peak!

My day off from 30DS, on tap for tomorrow.

I find wihtout a heart rate monitor all the calories I "gain" from exercise are really just an estimation, so I try not to eat them. If I'm hungry - and I try to ask myself whether I'm truly hungry or just bored/sad/mad, etc. then I'll eat some back - but not more then half of what I've earned. <<<this is not to say that I don't falter and go over my calories sometimes. We are all human, and I'm a work in progress. It's just what I try to adhere to. :-)

K, herbal tea then back to the work grind, have a meeting at 4 to prep for.

Oh, we're also in a storm watch for 15+cm overnight and tomorrow, so there'll will be lots of exercise calories gained tomorrow with the 30DS and then any shovelling that needs done!

Keep up the great work ladies, more later/tomorrow!

I wanted to get better pictures of myself...particularly my arms so that I could see if there was any change after the 30 DS...but I haven't had the time to do it. So here are my most recent photos and I finally took my measurements. Hopefully this will help me. I should also probably take measurements of my arms.

    SW: 367
    CW: 320

    B: 50
    W: 41.5
    H: 57.5

@skittles: Yeah, you don't want to mess with your knees. Good idea to wait on C25K. I have some compression yoga pants that I workout in from Old Navy that are really good and don't allow my big huge thighs to rub. But whenever I did have that problem Vaseline jelly worked well.

@Sadie: You are a snow shoveling MACHINE!!! lol!

Yeah, what I experienced yesterday was more than just being hungry from the extra workouts though...I was in full on binge mode. I ate 2 taquitos, a cupcake AND some cookies from 7-eleven. I felt SOOOOO sick. :(

But that's ok. I'm over it and I've had a good day today.

Completed day 2 of the 30 DS. Tomorrow is C25K...believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to it! And I'm kinda digging the 30 DS too. go figure! lol.

Looking forward to hearing how the day went for you all!!

Hugs Star, binges happen, at least for me. You have a great attitude though! No sense dwelling on it when it's done, all you can do is push forward!

I was actually looking forward to the 30DS today too...look at who we've become! LOL

30DS is done, I acutally woke up early so I coudl get it done before my marathon meetings...I mean really, who is this woman?!

So the forecast was correct, it's snowing. *sigh* Will get out at lunch to walk the dog, then shovelling this afternoon. Gonna be a high calorie burn today!

    Have a great day everyone!

Skittles, I've also used deodarant (sp?) on my thighs to prevent rubbing, especially in the summer, works wonders and it's messy (I buy the solid stick).

I'm with you both, I was looking fwd to doing the 30DS and I just finished. and I was able to stick with most of the jumping jacks. before I was just raising my arms and kicking my legs out.

We also got snow here so it took me about 20 mins just to get my car out of my spot and man was I sweating but I got it out. and I did 3 miles of walking today plus I only made it to 10 mins of kick boxing video. Its also on youtube which that was hard. I'm in another group with challenges and it works will with the 30DS and walking but we had to do a kick boxing video from Jillian Michaels this week and I only made 10 mins lol but its better then not doing it at all.

I will also try the tips for my thighs this is the part I hate the most. :( but on a better note I am so proud of all of us doing this. We are really are taking the steps to care about our selves. I know for me what really made me think was I am killing my self. I started at 370, I was so close to 400lbs and I know I'd just keep going up in weight. I am so thankful for this site and for the people I have got to meet and talk to. Thank you both for sticking with this and posting every day. It really helps me to keep on track and to come back. (hugs)

Awww skittles :flowerforyou: I feel the same way. Love the accountability of coming here to provide you support and have to tell you how I'm doing!

I too did 1 30 sec rep of both the jumping jacks and the boucing like you're jumping rope and the kick your butt one (except it's more like a centimeter off the ground for me LOL). THAT felt amazing, even though I though I was going to die.

Also today, the lunges thingys with the arm curl...OMG, my legs were SHAKING! Must be working. :D

We won't always be perfect, but that is life - so as long as we're always moving forward (and moving) and consistently doing the "right thing" I think we are succesful - it's not always about what the scale says, although it's nice to see it go down!

I've got one round of shovelling done...some more work and rest, then out to do another. Man, it's snowing out there today! We don't normally get this much snow where I live, however, I'm from Montreal originally so it kinda feels like "home". LOL

    Have a great afternoon/evening!

@sadie: Thank you so much. That's why I love this place...it's nice to know that there are people out there who understand and have been there....it helps to take the SHAME out of it. :)

And yes, you are absolutely right, as long as we keep pushing forward and doing the right things most of the time we can't help but be successful.

And GREAT JOB doing most of the cardio!!!! That is HUGE!!

@skittles: Oh wow...your other group sounds SUPER challenging. That's awesome. What's the name of Jillian's kickboxing video? Is it online anywhere? I LOVE kickboxing!

And hugs right back to you Skittles!! I agree, I totally love the support here. Especially in the forums for larger folks...people are more focused on making serious and important life changes vs. just for vanity's sake. We are fighting for our LIFE here.

BTW skittles, I was right there with you! My highest weight was 372lbs after the death of my boyfriend. I basically just locked myself in our house for 2 mos and I LITERALLY ate from 7-eleven every day. Pizza rolls, cookie dough, ice cream....just pure junk...and I didn't leave the house I was so depressed. I think I NEEDED to go through that tho...I think it was my way of mourning. Anyway...glad I survived that!

Did my C25K tonight and it was ROUGH!!! I think I'm preferring to run outside vs the treadmill which is a TOTAL REVERSAL of how it's been in the past. lol. BUT I did it. I'm kinda nervous because next week is the 5 minute run intervals. ACK! I can barely run for 3 minutes! How the heck am I going to run for 5?? WEll, I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!

Talk to you tomorrow ladies!! GREAT JOB FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK!!!

OH! BTW...the scale went up 4 pounds...I know that binge had something to do with it, but I also know that I've been working out a lot more so I'm HOPING that some of that weight is muscle?? I dunno...could be water too. Bottom line is that I know that I've been eating on track for the most part and exercising WAY more so that can NOT be 4 pounds of fat. I'm going to stop weighing every week and just have my next weigh in at the end of this month. I will get discouraged if I focus too much on it.

    Hi lovelies!

How are you doing today, Skittles?

Star, I hear ya, today our walk was tough - I'm glad I decided on every other day for the 30DS. LOL Today is my "rest" day.

I wouldn't worry too much about the scale going up - there can be so many factors: retaining water (from sodium & increased exercise), hormones, scale fluctuations, etc. You are on the right track and if weighing monthly prevents you from allowing the scale to derail you, I say good on ya! The measurements you took will also speak volumes, the scale is not the be all and end all (also reminding myself by saying this!)!

I'm tired today, not sure why. Probably didn't sleep well as my sheets were all over the place this morning - or as my mom would say: I was fighting someone in the night.

I'm getting a house guest for a bit over a week: I'm pug sitting! He's still a pup so this should be interesting. I forget how my girl was like that as now she's so calm (still has her moments) but I don't have to worry about anything laying around, etc. The pug on the other hand still gets into everything! I see lots of "leave it" in my future.

    Have a great day!

    Hey guys

So today I did my body pump class and it was a different teacher and she made us do lunges then jump up and do like 15 of them, boy jumping is hard for me still and I swear one day I'm going to knock my eye out with my stomach of my breast lol ( sorry) lol but I wasn't able to jump high and I had to stop a few and started again but I finished the class and went for a walk but only hit one mile because my complex was doing work on the club house and I just couldn't walk with all the noise so I left and had lunch then waited about 45 mins and went back up and worked for another 3.5 miles so 4.5 today which is now 24.5 miles out of my 100 miles in Feb :) Also I been doing the 30DS every day, but I started on Feb 2. and in a bit i'm going to do it. and get all my work out done for the day. and take a nice long hot shower haha.

@star here is the youtube video I did yesterday. I'm debating doing another 10 mins of it today or just passing
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9avonsRVok

also I am very sorry about your boyfriend (hugs) but I am glad you are working on your self and really trying to put your self first. I know for me it is hard. I want to just go to my food and be in a dark place and not care. and just eat everything and anything. but look we can over come this all of us and move on and just wait till we are even healthier.

@Sadie I'm doing better today with my thighs lol I put stuff on them ( a lot) lol but it is helping. also your lucky to dog sit. I have cats, I love dogs but I don't want a dog, I had one when I was a kid and just hated taking them out, but it could of been because I was lazy lol. My mom has two dogs a boxer and a american bulldog both are just to big babies haha I love them both but its funny were I live in a complex its pet friendly and I see people walking there dogs all the time to use the bathroom and I say to my self, I'm so glad I don't have to do that at night, or cold, or in the rain. or even when its really hot out. and again I think its because I'm lazy lol because dogs are really nice to have around, but I still like my cats even if I want to hold them and pet them and there running from me lol.

as for the sleep, I know some nights I don't sleep well, I keep asking my husband to get me this tracker the fitbit one it also tracks for sleep so I want to see how I'm sleeping. but at night I can never shut my head off from thinking about things so I think that is why I toss a lot in my sleep I am always in a hurry or trying to do something . who knows lol but enjoy your day or rest :)

as for the kick boxing the other group I am in is the walking dead one ( huge fan) and there is teams and each week is something different so I'm trying the kick boxing to help but we shell see how that one goes lol. well off to do the 30DS. I just hate hearing the same stuff over and over I'm going to dream about it tonight or something lol take care

    Hey Ladies!

Today has been rough for me, I've had a POUNDING headache all day...I actually stayed home from work today. I've taken Alleve which usually works right away for me..but not this time. I'm beginning to wonder if the fact that I've been having Splenda every morning with my oatmeal is having a negative effect somehow. I've read so much bad press on Splenda but I haven't really paid too much attention to it b/c I've never had any problems with it...but also, I've never consumed as much as I am now. Normally it's just been a once every blue moon type of thing, but now Oatmeal is pretty much my bfast every morning. I hope the Splenda has nothing to do with it tho b/c any other real sugar makes me crave.

So, I'm probably not going to get my 30DS in today. If I don't feel up to it in an hour or so I'm going to make it up on Saturday.

@Skittles: Thank you so much for hugs re: my boyfriend. You are so sweet. :) And yes, the best way to move forward is just to move forward! And working on myself is the best way to do so. :)

Gosh, I'm always so impressed with how HARD you push!!! But yeah, be careful! OUr boobs can be deadly weapons flailing all about! lol.

Thanks for the link to the video!! I"m going to check it out.

Oh and for the 30 DS video, now that I'm used to the routine, I just turn the volume down and play my own music!

@Sadie: yes, you are absolutely right. And "logically" I know those things and I keep telling them to myself as well, but emotionally it's another story. lol. Yeah, I'm putting it away for a month. DANG SCALE!!! lol.

Yeaah! A Doggy visitor!! Whenever I babysit someone's dog it's like WWF in my house! Sampson is 5 yrs old but he still has that PUPPY ENERGY that labs are known for.

    Good luck!

Alright ladies! I'll check in with you tomorrow!

    Hey!

Sorry to hear you had a rough day yesterday, Star. I hope today is better. I used to have sweetner in my coffee and cut it out...it can be done! And actually, when I cut out all artificial sweetner I noticed that naturally sweet things were sweeter after awhile, definately changed my tastebuds.

Skittles, I love cats too - got one - in my avatar. :-) Dogs are a lot of work and are definately a commitment. I love my girl though and coulnd't imagine a life without her.

OMG! this puppy sitting thing is going to be the death of me! LOL I realized how well trained my girl is! She actually listens. Oh well it's only a week and it's helping my friend out, so I'm happy to do it.

I did my 30DS today, however, ended before the last set of abs. The pug was going bonkers, I was late for work and I was tired (pug woke me up 4 times last night). So I'm considering it a win that I even did it at all!

Sorry if my post is a bit scattered - tired. More later. :)

Its a good thing you didn't do as much because when your not feeling good you don't want to push your self to much, Some days I really take is easy because of my one knee. I know its the weight on it but I still it easy and its only my left knee that really hurts. and have you tired maybe adding fruit to the oatmeal with out the splenda? I'm not sure what else to try sorry not a lot of help in that area. I make a smoothie or I do a lot of the 2 eggs and one banana pancake you mix the two together, its very good.

Oh I got my husband to do the 30ds with me last night and he wasn't doing anything on the floor or really anything but he told me he wants to do it with me. He is 330lbs I'm still bigger :( but I'm glad he wants to take a part in it. well today it a nice easy day for me. I have yoga and just walking. I want to get 5 miles in today but I'm going to have to break them up . well i better get ready for my class take care and enjoy this great new day we have

The sign that I am WAYY TOO attached to technology?? I **think** my period is coming soon by the way I've been feeling...but I don't know because I'm using an older phone while my normal phone is getting repaired and so I don't have access to the app that usually tells me.

    LOL.

    Got my C25K in today.

You both have a GREAT day tomorrow!! WOOT WOOT!! Ya'll are Kicking major booty!!! KEEP IT UP!

WTG for getting your husband on board, Skittles! I find when someone is willing to do it with us it ups the motivation.

    Star, WTG! You're doing awesome!

Quick post for me as I've got to walk the dogs then get ready for my outing today. For my birthday this year, I've decided to do something a bit different. I've gathered some friends and we're going to a local pottery studio and doing paint your own pottery! I'm a knitter, so she's ordered me a yarn bowl to paint. :-) We also get to bring wine with us! Should be a fund afternoon.

Today is my rest day from 30DS, so that's on tap for tomorrow.

Also, I lost 1 pound this week. It's pretty sad that I was disappointed with that. I was hoping for at least 2. I SO wanted to be under 300 for my birthday on Wednesday, alas, that isn't going to happen. I KNOW it's still a loss though, so I'm am happy with that. Onward and downward!

    Have a great day!

Had friends over for dinner tonight so I ended up getting my workout in first thing in the morning. I was very proud of myself bc I had a LOT to do...including cleaning my whole house, grocery shopping and cooking dinner plus baking a cake. I could have easily used the excuse that I didn't have time but there's really no excuse since the workout is so short! LOL. anyway, got it in and felt great. Felt STRONGER...you two INSPIRED me to try the jumping jacks. I was able to do a couple of sets but my knee started hurting for the later ones. That's ok, I worked up a really good sweat.

    C25K tomorrow...in the rain....<3 <3<3

Will post longer tomorrow and catch up with you two a little better.

    Keep up the good work!!

    Good Morning

well I made it to a new day, I am a bit sore and I'm taking the day off. well I'll still do the 30DS but I don't think I'm going to walk today. I just want to stay in the warm house. We got hit with snow again and I don't want to leave. I also made pancakes today which was 3 eggs and 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin. It wasn't that good not sweet at all. I have made the 2 eggs 1 banana and that was really yummie. also I asked to be put on a new team for my walking dead challenge, the group I was in just was not active. :( I like when I can talk to others like how we are doing. its so great reading about you two. it really does help me to be more active and push my self. again thank you both for being here it really means a lot to me.

Well I'm off to watch some tv and kind of be a bum today lol enjoy the day ladies.

What a busy day, Star! Yay for getting it all done!!! Your dedication to your exercise is so inspiring!

WTG, skittles! I'm sorry you were having such a rough day. It sounds like you were able to stay strong though, so place that in the win column!

So today is my 30DS day, and I don't think I'm gonna make it. I did my regular 3.5km walk with the dogs and I couldn't keep my regular pace. My legs feel like they way a tonne each! I also slipped on the ice and tweaked my left knee and ankle - kinda did the splits but caught myself. I know that all sounds like excuses, but I know my body and think I need a rest day.

It's not a total slacker day, as I got my walk in and it's snowing here again too (sigh) and so will be out shovelling when it stops (sigh), so I'll have that activity too.

I'm off to do some chores...have a great day!

way to go Sadie on the walk. that is great and you are right listen to your body, don't even over do or hurt your self.

and I am with you on the snow it sucks and I don't like shoveling it lets both hope for it to go away for months lol

I was able to do the 30DS and I also did some walking today 2 miles, plus I did 20 mins of Yoga ( it wasn't my class but a video online and I didn't like it much) but I did some of it. now to take a nice long shower, make dinner and sit down and watch the walking dead (huge fan) lol

    enjoy your night ladies

@skittles: Hahahahah!! You ALLLMOOSSTTT took a day off!! But not quite! lol. GREAT JOB with your workouts! BTW, I love that "taking a day off" includes a 2 mile walk! hahahah. And I agree with you. I really love the support and camaraderie that a group like this has. I have to say that thinking of having to come here and report on my day has really motivated me to stay on track...even ALREADY! lol. Yes, thank you both for being here.

@Sadie: Omgosh! Sorry to hear about your slip!! That's not good. Hope you are not in any pain. Probably not a good time to do 30DS with all those jumping jacks and lunges and what not. I hope you are having a better time of it!! HUGS to you Lady and hang in there!

I've had a great weekend as far as exercise. I did my 30DS yesterday and I focused on REALLY pushing myself. I pushed myself to do the jumping jacks and the butt kicks (where normally I just jog in place really face). Also, on one or two of the exercises with hand weights I used my 10lb weights instead of the 3lbs I normally use. And finally for the lunges and the squats I focused on going deeper than I normally do. Like I mentioned earlier I do feel myself getting stronger and able to do more. I love that!!

Today, I slept in pretty late because I stayed up to after 3AM with friends. It was kind of a lazy day but I kept in mind that I wanted to do my C25K and I wanted to do it outdoors even though it was pouring raining. But at the last minute...probably around 5pm I got a BURST of energy and threw on my sweats and a sweatshirt (didn't even brush my teeth or hair! LOL) and jammed to the park for my jog. IT WAS SOOOOO AWESOME!!!! If I'm GOING to jog...then jogging in the rain is the way I'd like to do it!! LOL. The cool air, the rain drops on my skin, the smell of the air...simply INTOXICATING!!! Aggghhhh! SO NICE. So, yeah, I did my C25K workout with no problem.

Next week I start week 4 (I spent an extra week on week 3). Im pretty nervous about the 5 minute jog but last time I did C25K I surprised myself with how easy it was...don't know if that will be the case this time though! lol.

    Anyway...have a great week Ladies!!!
