Ok, so I just finished my first day of the 30 day shred! It wasn't as bad as I imagined. It was a good workout and I had to modify some of the exercises - I couldn't do the ab exercises lying down, so I did standing crunches - but I managed to keep up ok.

I tracked all my dinner and I only came in over 150ish calories. That's amazing, IMO! I was so stuffed with sushi and tempura and I had a cupcake and wine. :-)
30DS is done for today. I'm just finishing up breakfast, will enjoy a nice coffee then back out to the conservation area for a nice long walk. It's sunny here today so I want to take advantage. Then I'm going to put in some hours at work this afternoon - have to get a few things done before the week starts (it's a holiday here today). Also in the US, right?

being MVP is great but I don't want to stay away from the challenges, I know its only going to push me and help me.
I have to sat way to go Zombie for doing the 30ds. I'm about to do mine. I added it so I have to do it soon lol
@sadie way to go for only going over 150ish calories thats not bad at all and you knew you were going to so I don't count it as a bad thing. I feel when you know your going to eat something its not a cheat because your choosing it.
@star I saw your post about you climbing that huge hill/MT by your house and omg way to go. and I know your going to be able to do the run, you are doing amazing.

@skittles: YEAAHH!! Congrats! I've seen that Bring Sally Up Challenge before!! It was going around my friends on FB for a while. Looks HARD!!! YOU are awesome! and yeah, climbing that mountain was THE HARDEST thing I'd ever done. My quads get sore JUST THINKING ABOUT IT! lol.
So at the end of this month I will add bicycle and swim training to my jog schedule to start really training for my tri. I only go out there to participate, not to place or anything...but I just want to be able to get through the dang thing in a REASONABLE time (meaning I don't want to come in LAST! lol)

sorry haven't posted, but i got new weights last night 5 lbs each and today doing the 30DS with them was hard lol and I still did my bring sally up and I think I'm going to do another round in a bit. also missed zumba class so I'm going to do the video on youtube I found, i don't know all the steps but its going to be just as good. also I want to try to get a 3 mile walk in tonight so I better get my butt going

So day three done and dusted. I am really tired today, so I am only going to do the 30ds and some walking. Oh, and I got a one round of Sallys in this morning. I found them harder today, but I think that's because I'm so tired. Will do three sets tomorrow!0 -
Thanks Zombie and the 5 lb was a challenge but I'm working with it. and the Sally's were very hard for me this morning, i was not happy lol

I did a 2 mile walk today going 3.0 and I did the 30DS and some more walking lol and in about an hour I have Zumba. but today I'm just not working everything as much. I need to up my game some.but I do feel as I am losing weight in some of my clothes. and I do feel a lot better with my self. I just keep going back into that stupid thinking that I'll wake up and be 100lbs lighter and I still have a long way to go.0 -
well I upped my game in zumba which was good and i went for a walk after and i feel just amazing. I just hit 26110 in steps today on my fitbit
now tomorrow I am debating if I want to do the 30DS because i started a new class and its on thursday and I was so sore after because we do a lot of the same things as the 30DS. so I guess I'll see how I feel tomorrow.
and I am going to hang out with my mom because we are getting things for my hubbys surprise birthday party that is this sat. so I may not be on until late.

@skittles: It's just a quick 4 day cleanse to help me get rid of my sugar cravings, get my portion control back and sort of "reboot" with my eating. I use the "Mean Green" recipe from the documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead". I'm drinking nothing but juice made of Kale, celery, cukes, lemon and LF, lactose free, plain kefir for breakfast and lunch and then broth for dinner.
ROCK WOMAN!!! That's a LOT of steps!!! You are absolutely KILLIN IT! What class are you taking??? Is it the Les Mills Body Pump class??
I went to a Line dancing class tonight and had SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun!!!! I was sweating like crazy, so I KNOW I got a great workout! I would do THAT every day no problem...great music, great people, lots of laughter and just AWESOME!0 -
Morning Lovelies!
So the work craziness has ramped up, and still has room to ramp up some more. Yesterday I was working late, then had 30 minutes to eat something, feed the girls, then off to my night class. No 30DS for me. When I got home I was so exhausted. The rest of this week doesn't look any better. I will try to make up the 30DS on the weekend.
You gals are doing so awesome! So proud of all you!!!!

Star, how long are you juicing for? Do you find it's helping? Do you feel like you're getting enough calories with the amount of exercise you're doing?

sorry guys I just feel like a huge bum right now, I was with my mom from 10 am until 10 pm, we were getting things all ready for my hubbys surprise birthday party this sat and I didn't do one work out and I feel like I am horrible. but I know I'm not and I ate out every meal but I did make good choices so I'm hoping that helps some. before I go to bed I will do my bring sally up because I need to get that in. I just feel like I cheated because of no work out, I did walk in stores but thats about it. oh well there is tomorrow. have a good night I'm heading to bed.0

@Sadie: Awwwee, sorry to hear that it's a hectic time at work. Hopefully things will calm down soon. But don't let your care for yourself slide! You are doing great!! KEEP IT UP!
@Skittles: Girl, don't be so hard on yourself! Give yourself permission to NOT workout 3x/a day! It's ok! At least every once in while right? It doesn't mean you are a bad person. Be NICE to yourself. *hugs*

As for me, I've just finished Day 3 of my juice cleanse. Feeling ok. I did my C25K run and WHEW!!! I was SWEATING BUCKETS!!! My shirt was SOAKED. I pushed myself and the total run was 15minutes. Keep in mind I have the treadmill on an INCLINE when I run indoors (which is probably the reason why I like running OUTSIDE better!) Also, I run MUCH faster than the outside run on the treadmill. I say all that to say, that I really PUSHED myself tonight. Hope that it pays off on Sunday.
I have been a bum with my 30DS. I will definitely get it in tomorrow and hopefully Saturday.

@Sadie I miss the class but today i'm going to kill my work out
oh a side note my hubby got my the 30DS on DVD it was only 10 bucks which isn't bad and it has 3 different levels. I'm going to stick with the first one for maybe 2 months because I want to be able to do all the work out with out stopping because I go up to the next. and I got 3 lb weights because the 5 were just to much right now.0 -
I just did the 30DS and I am dripping wet, I really pushed my self today and I almost got all the jumping jacks, I was so close but my pants were falling lol. Maybe I'll need to get a smaller pair, not sure or it could of just been this pair because they are older lol.0

I did the shred today, and I too pushed myself harder. I was sopping wet and out of breath. I got most of the jumping jacks done. I still struggle to get through the whole thing without modifications. I'm with Skittles, I want to conquer this level before I move to the next. My march goal will be to be able to do the whole thing through, and add weights (haven't used weights yet) my upper body is ridiculously weak....my bottom half though is super strong. I have always been that way, even as a kid I could always out push the guys with leg presses.
Still super busy at work, but it's FRIDAY! yipee!!!

I realized that I didn't answer your questions! DUH ME!
I'm on my 4th day of the juice cleanse and it's going well. I like to complain about it, but it's actually not that hard. This is my second time doing a juice cleanse and I feel like this time is MUCH easier. Since that time I've been working on what I call "practicing being hungry". LOL. Sounds weird I know but basically I have a TOTALLY dysfunctional relationship with food and NORMALLY if I experience ANY little hunger pang or if I haven't eaten for a few hours...I OBSESS over food--what to eat, when to eat, where to eat, how good it's gonna be when I was eating it...etc. LOL. And then of course, when I finally get to the food, I would order or cook WAYY to much which would lead me to EAT way more than what I was even hungry for. So, anyway, part of what I use the cleanse for is to get used to being hungry and not PANIC. During the cleanse I spend a lot of time feeling hunger pangs but I've learned that they are not the end of the world, I'm GOING to survive and I will eat again soon. For me it's about trying to get out of the "binge" mentality. I've found that when I start eating foods again, I feel comfortable eating smaller portions and I'm not trying to eat all day long.
The other thing I use the cleanse for is to rid myself of carb and sugar cravings. I was beginning to spiral out of control here recently with my eating so this just helps me quit "cold turkey" and get back on track mentally and physically.
As far as my energy...I feel like I DO have more energy than when I'm eating more carbs. Prior to my cleanse after eating I would want to crawl in bed and get warm...I don't know why that was!! But after every meal, even if they weren't heavy meals...even if it was salad, I felt cold and wanted to get under the covers and lay down. LOL. I haven't felt that way since juicing. The FIRST day I was sleepy and tired, but since then I've felt great.
So, yeah, I do feel like it's working for what I use it for. I know some people use it for quick weight loss...that's not my goal b/c I know that when I start eating real food again my weight is going to go back up.

well a short post but I am sick I was coughing on thursday night and just hoping it was from being around my mom all day and her smoking. and yesterday it hurt a bit but last night it really took me down.all night I was up coughing and my throat hurts so bad, No Zumba for me today and its my husbands surprise birthday party so I'm hoping things get better for me.0

Awww skittles, that sucks. ;-( Lots of fluids and REST. When you're sick is not the time to worry about calories & exercise. Not saying to eat like crazy or not track, just to focus on getting healthy again. HUGS I hope you feel well enough to have a great time at the party. You worked so hard on it!
Skittles, sounds like you have a plan and are sticking to it. I'm not interested in doing it myself, but I've never actually inquired as to what it consisted of. :-) Really glad for you that it's working!
I'm just having breakfast then I'm off to the conservation area for a long walk. I'm also planning on doing the Shred today, to make up for Wednesday - I will report back later whether I do it or not for accountability.
And the best news of all!!!!!!!!!!! My 2lbs loss at today's weigh-in has put me out of the 300s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm SO excited! :-)

well last night really sucked for me, I was up all night coughing but my throat isn't sore any more which that is a plus just the nose won't stop running. and no 30DS for me for a couple days. also as soon as I know how to upload photos I'll show you guys my hubbys cake.I am mostly going to be sleeping or being a bum on the couch today.

Done with my Juice cleanse...5 days! I feel awesome! I feel SOOO back on track and in a good place! I cooked up my meals for the week and I'm going to go lo carb for a little while just to ensure that those cravings are COMPLETELY gone! But I'm excited about my menu!: Brazilian shrimp stew; smoked turkey tails and kale, LF beef tacos made with cauliflower tortillas (I'm excited about this!)0 -

I took a rest day yesterday, so day seven of the 30 day shred done today. Some days I think I'm improving and other days I think I'm getting worse! Today was an improving day. I was better at the lunges (which I dislike) and the split squats (which have taken me a while to get a handle on).

@Zombie: you know what? you ARE improving every single time you do a workout...whether you can tell or not. One thing I found is sometimes it SEEMS like Im not doing as well, but the fact is that the reason it seems that way is because I'm actually doing the exercise with better form and it's HARDER...but before I couldn't even do it with that amount of form because I was too weak. Does that make sense?
I've been struggling to get all my workouts in but I'm definitely doing C25K tomorrow!0 -
I am still sick it seem each night just gets worse. I can't stop coughing and not my chest hurts and when i do my head hurts for a few secs like I have a headache. and still not work out thats the part thats killing me the most. but I couldn't work out even if i really wanted to because I just feel so drained. but I will pull thought this bug and kill all my work outs after.I been sleeping off and on maybe getting an hour or two at the most a time. so I may not be on as much today but take care

Zombie, you are doing amazing! 7 days in is awesome, and you didn't think you'd do it at all! I agree with star, you ARE getting stronger even though you don't realize it.
Skittles, don't beat yourself up mentally/emotionally over not exercising. You are sick, your body needs rest and fluids to heal itself. You will start back up when you've kick the germs to the curb.
Sunday was interesting; between falling on my back and doing the 30DS on Saturday, on Sunday I was so sore. I haven't been that sore in a long time. Had a day full of errands, so did those and no working out. Sorry I missed checking in yesterday, had to go into the office for meetings, it was a long day! I didn't do the shred, but today I am committing to getting in a walk with the dog and my 30DS.
We are in the home stretch of finishing and I'm hoping to finish strong and not lag. Only a few more days left, we CAN do it!!! I'm excited to take my measurements and see if there was any movement. I know the scale is going down, but I don't see a difference in myself - which is natural since I see myself every day. LOL
