WTG, Skittles! You had a great day yesterday. ;-)

Star, I'm feeling your entheusiasm through the screen! God I would pay for rain right now. LOL (well let's caveat that with WARM rain just in case mother nature is listening)

I iced my ankle and knee last night and no troubles today. I was tired on our walk again today. I think the grey, cold, snow is starting to get to me. I think I'm also not sleeping as soundly due to the pug visitor. :-)

Tomorrow is my day for 30DS, so I'll be back at it tomorrow. Work is crazy busy! So, a short post for me today.

@Sadie, I'm really glad you didn't hurt anything to bad and that its good today, thats always a plus but I would still take it easy just in case. also how long do you get to take care of the dog?

@Star, you can do it for the C25K just take your time and if you can't do the jog in 5 mins, just do what you can to work up to it. also it is always nice to hang out with friends, I get to do that this coming Sat. My husband and I and a friend and her husband are all going out to dinner because both of Husbands birthdays are this month. I'm also thought mine a surprise 30th birthday party on Feb 22, that is his birthday. I just hope he hasn't found out and like it lol

I also didn't want to work out yesterday but when my hubby wanted to go I was like ahh I'll go lol which i'm glad because we had pizza yesterday

I also am about to do the 30DS and I just walked 4 miles. I'm moving up 2 of the miles I did at 3.0 mph, its not super fast but month ago I was out of breath doing it. today was fine. I'm just going to keep building up. I also just found out I got MVP (Most Valuable Players) on the first team I was on because I did over 700 mins of cardio for the week. a lot of it has to do with walking which helps me. I just want to push my self in a good way each week and do a little more. well I better get going and do my 30DS then a nice hot shower, take care

I came across this today on here and I wanted to share it

I found it here: http://flintland.blogspot.ca/2012/05/hey-fat-girl.html I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

    Hey, Fat Girl.

Yes, you. The one feigning to not see me when we cross paths on the running track. The one not even wearing sports gear, breathing heavy. You’re slow, you breathe hard and your efforts at moving forward make you cringe.

You cling shyly to the furthest corridor, sometimes making larger loops on the gravel ring by the track just so you’re not on it. You sweat so much that your hair is all wet. You rarely stay for more than 20 minutes at a time, and you look exhausted when you leave to go back home. You never talk to anyone. I’ve got something I’d like to say to you.

    You are awesome.

If you’d look me in the eye only for an instant, you would notice the reverence and respect I have for you. The adventure you have started is tremendous; it leads to a better health, to renewed confidence and to a brand new kind of freedom. The gifts you will receive from running will far exceed the gigantic effort it takes you to show up here, to face your fears and to bravely set yourself in motion, in front of others.

You have already begun your transformation. You no longer accept this physical state of numbness and passivity. You have taken a difficult decision, but one that holds so much promise. Every hard breath you take is actually a tad easier than the one before, and every step is ever so slightly lighter. Each push forward leaves the former person you were in your wake, creating room for an improved version, one that is stronger, healthier and forward-looking, one who knows that anything is possible.

You’re a hero to me. And, if you’d take off the blaring headphones and put your head up for more than a second or two, you would notice that the other runners you cross, the ones that probably make you feel so inadequate, stare in awe at your determination. They, of all people, know best where you are coming from. They heard the resolutions of so many others, who vowed to pick up running and improve their health, “starting next week”. Yet, it is YOU who runs alongside, who digs from deep inside to find the strength to come here, and to come back again.

You are a runner, and no one can take that away from you. You are relentlessly moving forward. You are stronger than even you think, and you are about to be amazed by what you can do. One day, very soon, maybe tomorrow, you’ll step outside and marvel at your capabilities. You will not believe your own body, you will realize that you can do this. And a new horizon will open up for you. You are a true inspiration.

    I bow to you.

I'm on an energy kick today, I just got tons of it lol. I have done the zumba online and I have a class tonight, I only did 30 mins on the video, I did the 30DS, I did 20 mins of my body pump at my gym and I walked 2 miles today. but I did have the rest of my cheesecake from yesterday so i guess I am just trying to make up with some more movement. and I don't see me having cheesecake for some time.

also I won the MVP in the other group so I don't' have to do 50 burpees which look super hard, but I saw a video to try ones, I'm going to try them anyways. because I know it will only help me. as for 50 no way lol

    Have a great day ladies

That's okay Star, you have a plan to make it up; I think that goes in the win column. :-)

Skittles, your energy amazes me! WTG and keep up the great work! Thanks for posting, I had read that in the forums and it's a great post!

I'm off to do the 30DS in a couple of minutes. Feeling blah today.

Oh, and skittles, the pug is with us till Friday. I will be happy when he goes home. :)

Just a few more days Sadie then you will be pug free haha

and the other day I was just blah, I was like that a little bit yesterday. I started thinking about my cat mittens, he passed away in Aug 2012 and he was my very first pet ever. I got him when I was 12 year old. a friend of my moms found him and the sibling next to there mom, she must of got hit by a cat or something and they were only a few weeks old. so we took him in and he was mine lol I even had to bottle feed him because he was still so tiny. and I would call him my baby doll lol He was 17 year old so he was an old cat. but anyways I was just down thinking about him. so i didn't want to go walking, but I knew I needed to get it in and after the walk it did make me feel a little better. ( sorry for the rant)

anyways some days I have energy others days I want to stop but I love this feeling, I have only lost 16 lbs but I never want to see them again. thank you again for both being here

Hi everyone, I have been lurking and just thought I'd pop in to say you are all amazing! I am so impressed by your workouts. I am no where near being able to do the 30ds.

Skittles - congrats on being MVP! You knocked it out of the park this week. I'm MVP on my team - soooo glad I don't have to do the burpees, but I might try some so that my team mates can use them if needed. I don't think I could do a regular burpee, but I might be able to do the beginner one. Thank you for the link!

No apologies necessary, Skittles. I'm sorry for your loss; they are members of our family and it's just as sad when they part. Sounds like he was lucky to find you! I think you're doing amazing with your fitness! Keep up the great work!

Hi Zombie: not too late to join our challenge. :-)

I did the shred yesterday, as scheduled. woot! I was even able to do the crunches where your legs are up and you bring up your bum. And the scissor ones - couldn't do them previous to yesterday. I did 8 for each. :-) Cardio is getting better too. I will wait till the end to re-take my measurements, but I'm excited to see if there's a difference!

Star, how was your day? How are you doing?

It's my birthday today; and I have class tonight. LOL I'm taking Italien. Will do my birthday dinner (Sushi & tempura!) on Sunday.

Have a great rest of the day everyone!

and star how have you been?

well I should go make dinner soon, not sure what because hubby has a work meeting thing late tonight so I have no idea what to make, I think i should go get something to eat but don't know what lol and then zumba tonight

@skittles: Thank you so much for posting that letter!! I've both BEEN the fat girl sweating and struggling and have been the person INSPIRED by someone larger than myself working hard despite the possible shame and judgement of others! There was a guy that used to jog past my house, I could hear him coming he was panting and breathing so hard. He was a really big guy and he would be sweating like crazy. But I LOVED him! I was rooting for him and wanted so bad to cheer him on or give him some words of encouragement...but I was afraid that I'd embarrass him unintentionally. These days he's at LEAST 80 or 90 pounds lighter and is just ROCKIN it out!! He doesn't know it but I'm SO PROUD of him! lol.

How are your burpees coming along? Have you done more of them? You are amazing girl!

BTW, your story about Mittens made me sad. I know how hard it is to lose the pet that you grew up with...it's just horrible because they become your family and you want them to just live forever. :(

@Sadie: Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoyed your day! GREAT job with your progress!! You are definitely getting stronger...that is so awesome!

I'm very impressed with you two! You are staying on track with your workouts and really pushing through!

I've been struggling a bit...had some serious cravings that I caved in to and then didn't feel like working out. Ever since I started jogging and 30DS my weight loss has not only completely stopped but I've gained. I've stopped weighing as often (trying not to weigh at all) but emotionally it has taken a toll on me. I know that it's probably a combination of muscle and water but it doesn't matter...I'm still psychologically struggling with it.

Today I've had a great day though! Did my C25K workout and jogged all the jog intervals except for the last 5 minute one...good reason though...there was a 3 girl pile up on the treadmill next to me! It was not good...one young lady fell on the treadmill and her friend and another woman fell trying to help her. i tried to help but then I almost fell! She ended up getting up and laughing about it so she wasn't extremely hurt which is really good, but it was scary. anyway, I ended up doing about 3 minutes of the last 5 minute jog. Also, my eating was on track. No cravings whatsoever. but I do think I'm going to do a juice cleanse next week just to make sure.

@Zombie: Welcome! Glad you are here hanging out with us! You know, the 30DS is on youtube for free and you can do it in the privacy of your own home...maybe you could just do a little of it? Only do what you can do...that's definitely what I'm doing. I think each of us started out a couple of weeks ago BARELY able to get through everything..but in a couple of weeks we've all made progress. No judgement about what we can or can not do here!

Alright Ladies! Let's have a great day tomorrow!

Thank you, Star. I'll try it and see what I can do. If you don't hear from me, you'll know I didn't survive!

That's really tough the scale hasn't been moving. I think when you start a new exercise regime that often happens. Your body holds onto more water to help prepare your muscles. C25k and 30ds are both pretty intense. Have your measurements been going down? Hang in there, you are doing so great, the scale will start moving again soon.

Hey Star and I understand when it looks like the weight isn't coming off, that happen to me a few times so I stopped and went back into eating. my highest at one point was 303 and I was doing great and stopped then I hit 370 (ouch) but how about how do you feel? because I am only down 16 lbs so far but I feel amazing and look at you jogging, thats fantastic. I want to get to that part but my knees tell me not yet. my goal is to start when I am 300 and if I can only do 20 sec a day I will. but its hard for any of us not to always think about our weight. stick with it, keep doing your thing and the small steps add up

as for burpees I have done 16 so far. In a bit I'm going to try for 10 more today. and I have body pump, and I'm trying a new class out tonight a couple ladies in my zumba class told me about called strength and core they say its easyer then body pump lol. and I had cheesecake this week so I gave into my craving but I didn't stop. we will all make this one day at a time

@ Zombie, Star is right when I first did the 30DS I couldn't even do a jumping jack how sad on my part, but I didn't give up, I did what I could now I am almost doing all the jumping jacks ( my breast on the other hand hate it lol ) but I stick with it. just do what you can. I tell my friends I am in no race with anyone but my self. I do what I can. I even tried the C25K but my knees were telling me no so I held off with it, but I still walk. I'm up to 46 miles since Feb 1. I'm shooting for 100 in Feb. and I got an early Vday gift its a fitbit woo hoo. I am super excited to see what it does for me and how it will push me more to move. well I better stop ranting and get my work out down lol. take care ladies and enjoy this day that we were given.

Yay, Skittles! You are an inspiration. I can't do jumping jacks - I do my modified version where I kick out my arms and legs but don't actually jump. I am not good at jumping, even when I was 100lbs lighter and much fitter. However, at least I'm moving! I'm going to try the 30ds on Monday.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Star, I echo everything skittles said. You are doing amazing things! don't let the stupid scale bring you down. I know for me, the number is sometimes all consuming; but as I'm sure you'd remind me, it's not the only thing to gauge by. You're strong, and getting stronger every day. The weight will follow. It just will. Not always in the time frame we want though. :)

Skittles, wtg on the burpees! Amazing! 1 peice of cheese cake does not make a "bad" week. Everything in moderation, and it sounds like you conquered the moderation this week! We can't deny ourselves from everything!

Zombi, I still can't do jumping jacks for the full time length. But, I am getting stronger. That's all that matters, to me anyway. We are all doing what we can, when we can. No judgements here!

Today is my 30DS. Will do it after work. I've got a raging headache (barometric pressure headache) but I'm going to do it anyway. And apparently it's supposed to snow again tomorrow....if it does I think I'll cry. *sigh*

Have a great rest of the day!!!

I want to be lazy today ahh. I missed my yoga class and I don't want to walk or do the 30DS, I just want to do nothing. but I need to get my Burpees in and my 30DS and I am going to walk. I just don't want to. Sorry having one of those blah kind of days, but I know I'll feel 100 times better after the work out.

I know how you feel, Skittles! But..go, go now and DO IT! :D

Day off the 30DS for me. Nothing else really to report - pug's mom is picking him up tonight. funny he's starting to understand the rules of this house and yesterday and today he's being really good. It figures. LOL

It's a long weekend here - Monday is "family day". But I'll probably have to work anywya...so much to do! I'll see how I feel on Monday and decide then.

Have a great day, will check in later!

also Happy v-day ladies ( I was never really much one fore v-day but I did make dinner for the hubby stuff shells is what he wanted, I'm about to go get a salad or maybe chicken because I looked and stuff shells is a lot so I just don't want that now lol

edit ( I ate the shells, I had 3 shells and 4 with out the shell lol I wasn't going to but I just don't feel like making something lol )

Way to go, skittles! You pushed through the blah today and I think that's awesome! :-)

Don't beat yourself up over the stuffed shells - life is about all these things, and I personally don't believe that restricting yourself 100% of the time is a good thing. I live by the 80/20 rule. Am I exercising, eating healthy/within my macros at minimum 80% of the time? If yes, then I'm rocking it! Life happens and it's all in how we handle the 80%. :D

I hope that didn't come off preachy - that's not how I mean it. :-)

So the pug has departed our house. He was happy to see his "parents" and I know the cat is SUPER DUPER HAPPY he's gone. I can't tell if the dog is as she's passed out exhausted right now. LOL

All in all it was a good week, and I don't really have any complaints. I got to do a favor for a friend, he dog was well taken care of and safe. That's really all that counts. :-)

Just making dinner now - veggies and scrambled eggs. 30DS on tap for tomorrow.

    Star, how you doing today?

    Have a great night!

    Hey All!

@Sadie: Glad you survived the pug! Now your household can get back to norm! I'm actually house sitting for my uncle who lives about 8 blocks from me...they have a bull dog who is CRAZY!!! I mean, literally. lol. If you are holding a plastic water bottle she will darned near bite your hand off trying to get to it. My dog, Sampson, does NOT like her. He's a happy go lucky lab and she is just way too aggro for him! So I have to spend time going back and forth and hanging with both of them separately. Oy! BTW, I fully agree with your 80/20 rule!

@skittles: Girl, you burn so many dang on calories with all the exercise you do...don't worry about a couple of shells. I mean you know yourself better than anyone tho so as long as the pasta isn't one of your trigger foods or anything... but if it's just about the calories you'll burn those off in ONE day! lol.

Had a really good C25K...jogged both 5 min run intervals...was VERY proud of myself!! The way we are doing it is 2 days on the treadmill and then the final day of the week is outside at the park. So Sunday I get to go run outside. HOPING FOR RAIN!! LOL.

Also, I will start my juice cleanse on Tuesday. I'm going to do Tuesday, wednesday, thursday and Friday. And clean out ALL the sugar from my cabinets on Monday. Even though I haven't eaten any white sugar in the past two days...I do still feel the cravings lurking. I've eaten dried cranberries in 2 of my meals today. and those things have a LOT of sugar.

Tomorrow is my makeup day and my GOAL is to get 2 30DS workouts in...one early and one in the evening. I keep thinking about skittles working out all day and thinking if she can do ALL of that...SURELY I can get one hour in!! LOL.

    ACK!

    Morning,

@Star I do work out all day but most of it is only walking which it is nice and 2 30DS wow thats great, some days I feel like I'll never finish one lol because you know what she says you can't phone it in lol. ( i swear I could make a new video with everything she says lol and I can't wait till I can walk outsite ( a little jealous but in a good way) we got snow again here. and thats great with doing 5 mins of jogging, that is a big step :) keep it up

@Sadie ya I think I do beat my self up over food a lot. I guess I'm so worried about gaining the weight back that I took off.

well today I have zumba and I'm going to walk and the 30DS tonight me and a few friends are going to Ichiban for dinner for my hubbys birthday, but his birthday isn't till next sat.

enjoy this day we are giving and remember your body couldn't do what is did today 2 weeks ago. I know yesterday i walked 7 miles and I couldn't of done that 2 weeks ago because it was hard.

Star, how long do you have to house sit for? That's a lot of back and forth! I hear ya, my girl doesn't like most other dogs, especially those that are bigger then her or dominant. She has fear aggression - and has been attacked twice, and she's a rescue. Poor thing. LOL WTG on the jogging! That's totally awesome!

Skittles, I hear ya. I too get worried sometimes about gaining any weight back. We just have to remind ourselves that our bodies aren't static, and as long as we are doing healthy things we will be rewarded!

Walk and 30DS done. Groceries restocked, dinner prepped for tonight. Now to relax. :-) Tomorrow is sushi & tempura...can't wait!!!!

today I walked the most that I have walked in a very long time. I did 9 miles, I know starting back in Jan there was no way I could even do 30 mins of walking because it hurt my sides and I built up to it. small steps like this add up

You ladies are sooooo supportive of each other. Y'all are amazing and inspiring! I do 30ds off and on but it hurts my knees. I find that whenever I need to get up and down off the floor it takes more time than I'd like it yup take. Sometimes After doing that second round of abs when she says ,"now get off the floor with your weights" I just want to stay on the floor. Lol. I'm determined to get down though it's hard I know I can do it!

@skittles: YAAAAYYYY!!!! How awesome is that???!!! Well, you said it best, our bodies can do more today than it could two weeks ago. I think that is SO important to remind ourselves that even though it may not FEEL like it or LOOK like it, we are slowly getting stronger and stronger with each new day that we work towards our goals. I know I tend to forget that message. Thank you for reminding us!!! SOO HAPPY FOR YOU!

@Sadie: Just until Monday. My uncle and his wife went to Yosemite for the long weekend. It is a pain going back and forth. I wish she wasn't so aggressive...Sampson LOVES other dogs and he loves to play but she's not a good playmate. Awwweee, I feel sorry for your little girl! She has such a sweet face! Yeah, Sampson is a rescue pup as well. GREAT job with all of your prep work btw! That's definitely the way to stay on track. And MMMMMMMM!!!! Have a Spicy Tuna Roll for me!!!! lol.

Well, today was a mix of good and not so good. Still fighting the intense sugar cravings. Made frosted brownies...ate some and then threw the majority of it in the garbage disposal! LOL. Also, cleaned out all the sugar in my cabinets. I will definitely not be buying any more sugar.

Also, did 1 full 30DS workout and then half of a second right after! I was SWEATING LIKE CRAZY! LOL.

I REALLY PUSHED myself in that first one...did ALL the jumping jacks except for maybe half of one set. Also, did ALL of the ab work and other exercises. The only one I still struggle with is those side lunges with the arm raises. I get to a point where I have to stop the arms but I still continue with the lunges. It was a really good workout though. The second round was a little less but I definitely pushed.

Tomorrow is my outdoor run and it's raining tonight. Hoping for rainy weather tomorrow. (is that weird that I'm hoping to jog in the rain?? lol)

@Phasesme: Welcome!! Glad you are here! Yeah, she doesn't give us enough time to get up off the floor right?? LOL.

Star, you're a good niece. ;-) You did an awesome job pushing yourself on the 30DS! You're a rock and I draw a lot of inspiration from you. ;-)

Skittles, you are SO right! We are getting stronger even if we play head games with ourselves that we aren't. Thanks for the reminder. You rocked those miles yesterday, girl! I draw inspiration from you too. :-)

Quick post for me. It's snowing again today. GAH! I got my period in the middle of the night. GAH! Headed out to a local conservation area in a few minutes for a long walk with the dog and my mom. Then the dinner! I've already pre-tracked everything...and I'll be over, but I'm okay with that! I'm sure it will all net out by the end of the week - and it totally falls into the 80/20 rule I set for myself.

I still struggle to do all the moves in the 30DS, especially the bouncing ones (jumping jacks, jump rope, etc.) I feel pressure in my knees and I'm afraid of hurting myself. I'm determined though, as this weight keeps dropping I'll get there. I think I'm going to keep going with the video after our challenge and the goal being to do level 1 from beginning to end with no stopping and no modifications! I WILL get er' done! :)

    Have a great day everyone!

Hey! Back from the conservation area, walked 68 minutes (5km). Feeling good! We saw a beautiful young deer run in front of us and then frolic in the snow. He/She was so beautiful and majestic, just love deer! Feeling so lucky to have this area near where I live, the beauty, the serenity just makes you feel rejuvenated when you come back from there!

Hope you're both having a wonderful day!

@phasesme your more then welcome to come and chat with us. and the 30DS was hard for me the first day, i was really rethinking of doing it again. but I stuck with it. I now did almost all the jumping jacks I was off by 6 in the last part of it, I am doing to do them all by the end of next week :) and take your time don't push into it, my knees hurt a lot of the time so I take it easy. I wanted to do the C25K but my knees had other plans, which is fine but I'll get to it later down the road.

@Star some days I really have to tell my self I am doing better today then what was yesterday or a week ago or even a month ago. I have to take this one day at a time and for me I know I get really mad at my self if I don't lose a lb but I I know I am getting stronger each day and we are all building muscle. also way to go on the jumping jacks we will all get there :) and sorry you had to go out in the rain, be care not to get sick from it.

@Sadie my head some times need to shut up lol and your right it does play head games and it sucks and I can't speak for you ladies but I know every day I just keep thinking to my self how did i hot over 300lbs and I can't even blame my mom because she tried to get my active and eat right, I would go behind her back and just over eat or go to the store and buy junk food. so I know its not going to take me days to lose this but every day I have to just keep my head up and make the right choices that I didn't make months, years ago and with support from MFP I know WE will make it all of us.

I love that you both went outside for walks, me on the other hand I won't do it in this cold snowy weather lol I'm chicken lol so i stay in. but I was thinking maybe we should try a new challenge for March to keep us still going. could be anything. I know I'm going to stick with the 30DS for maybe a few more weeks but not every day. I really want to get to the point were I am doing everything with out a stop, but I know I have to build into it.

    Hey...

    Just a quick check in!

Had a GREAT run outside! UNFORTUNATELY it didn't rain...it was nice and sunny, but I still did really well! I focused on relaxing and just enjoying the run (and calming my breathing). I actually felt GOOD! AND we normally do around 3.1 miles and today we did 3.5! So we are getting faster. sooo AWESOME!

I start week 5 on Wednesday and I should be ok for the first TWO days...but the third day there is a TWENTY MINUTE RUN. scarrryyyyyyy!

Anyway, @skittles I think it would be great to continue with something...I might try level two but definitely less days a week than what I'm trying to do now.

    Have a great day ya'll!
