    heavenlyb14,

always take care of your health first. If your doctor says walking is good for you than do the walks by all means otherwise skip them.

BTW You did great with your nibble walks despite having anemia :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I had no idea just how much I have missed walking at the park. This weekend was my first weekend off in months from watching my grandchildren. I slept in and went to the park yesterday and today. I had a fantastic time and walked 6.5 miles this morning. To toot my own horn I had two fisherman give me a standing ovation when I finished my walk. I never saw them there and they said that they had never seen anyone walk that fast and determined before. LOL I was embarrassed but I have to admit it made me feel real good. Made my day.

    Good for you PinkyPan1!!!

I walked for half a mile on Friday and nothing yesterday.

I'm afraid that I am struggling a little more than usual with anaemia, my blood count has taken a big drop over the last ten days. I know from experience that my body will adjust over the next few weeks but this stage is tough. I try to avoid having too many blood transfusions as, no matter how good the screening process is, they always carry a contamination risk and I've already had three this year. That's it, self pity over. Alex has provided me with a great challenge to get me motivated and I am going to start today.

    Happy walking everyone :flowerforyou:

Hugs. I am so sorry you are struggling with this. Stay strong and take care of yourself.

Wow, bandit1525! You're an inspiration! Congrats!

I live on a road with no sidewalks and no safe shoulders, so I often drive 4 minutes to the nearest neighborhood with sidewalks. I'm so lucky, I have a view of Mount Rainier on my walk! I love these summer months because it is light early in the morning and I can walk and get back in time to make breakfast for my husband before he leaves for work.

Starting tonight, I'm going to do an inside "Leslie walk" while the kids get ready for bed and see how that goes!

Goal for July: 1 mile per day (inside, outside or treadmill)

    Sat 7/20 - about 1 mile neighborhood
Sun 7/21 - AM -1.4 miles neighborhood PM - YouTube 20 Min Power Walk http://youtu.be/ykPr0t2KutY

Total Miles for July (so far) = 3.4

I can't really set a goal this month as I am doing too much traveling. So, my goal will be as many miles as I can while visiting my son and new granddaughter and then traveling later in the month! July is busy this year!

July 4-Endomondo tracked 3.13 miles walked around my son's neighborhood in the The Hague. I miss my USA fireworks Happy 4th to all the Americans!
July 12- Endomondo tracked 6.23 miles walked in Amsterdam. We traveled from The Hague to Ann Frank's house in Amsterdam today as my wonderful Daughter-in-law knew I loved Ann's diary and bought us tickets as a gift. What an experience to actually see and be in the very rooms where Ann wrote her diary. In her room, all the pictures she glued to her wall of her favorite movie stars/art etc are preserved. Most heart wrenching were the lines her parents drew on the wall charting the growth of Ann and her sister Margot. It is amazing how children and their parents continue to do the most normal things even in the most abnormal of circumstances. It was an emotional day, but added miles to my month at least! 9.36 total
July 21-Jet lag and traveling to my mountain home in NY have prevented me from walking, even with Leslie! However, that ended today with my first mountain hike of the season! 1 mile hike up a pretty steep assent. 10.36 total
