Mr. C decided last night we had to run out to one of our favorite ice cream shops..
Picture isn't great but I wasn't prepared so he took it for me. Smore's sundae in a choc dipped waffle bowl.

I think I drooled a little. Sundaes definitely have to come in chocolate dipped waffle bowls.

I picked up two of the artisan Haagen Dazs flavors-- Tres Leches and Spiced Pecan Turtle. I had a quick bite of each and I can tell right now that I'm smitten with the spiced pecan turtle. Too bad it's 310 calories.

Awesome. What do you use for the chicken pot pie crust? I've been wondering if I could just use a regular pie crust, because all the recipes I've found call for frozen puff pastry.

as much as I'm usually a "from scratch" girl, this time I went to the freezer case and bought Marie Callender's finest. I regret nothing.

I was never a pot pie person growing up but it's one of my husband's favorite meals. I've made it with regular pie crust (store bought), biscuits, and puff pastry. I actually liked it best with the pie crust, and I made it in a cast iron skillet so after cooking/simmering the filling you just lay the crust over the top and bake it. My husband liked it best with biscuits...

So much deliciousness! Happy Birthday, @Ninkyou‌!

Normally I stick with ice cream and gelato, but when I saw the calories on the B&J Half Baked froyo, I thought I'd give it a try. The mix-ins totally made up for the fact it was froyo. I do like the Cherry Garcia froyo, too, which I had last night. My daughter's friends raided my Half Baked. I noticed the Talenti Black Cherry hadn't been touched, either. Maybe that's the secret, fruit flavors.

You can use a reg pie crust, I've also add herbs or garlic to my crust, puff pastry, biscuits, they all work

I've offically been converted to Talenti- I think I'm leaning toward it more than my regular ice cream- I now have 3 of them in my freezer- Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Chip and Sea Salt Caramel.

I really don't like the sea salt honestly. It makes me sad.

I found I like their new Sea Salt flavor more than the original. The new one is Sea Salt Peanut.

I don't get really weird with flavors- I'm pretty basic- the sea salt caramel was a stretch for me- but I really liked the dove sea salt dark chocolate things someone brought in- so I got fiesty and grabbed it.

Probably stick to chocolate chip- it's easy- and I love it.

I saw some new Breyer's gelato... chocolate caramel flavor. It was on sale too... but no room in the freezer :( I'd buy them more often if they were on sale too... but $5 is too much.

Has anyone tried the new Turkey Hills gelato? I saw them at the store.

Tried the Turkey Hill Sea Salted Caramel Gelato today. I liked it alot better than the Chocolate Peanut Butter. The only thing I wish, is that it had more of the chocolate caramel truffle mix-ins. They seemed far and few between. But the Caramel base was pretty good.

Breyer's gelato is pretty good (though I like Talenti better), but it does seem pricey - as does Talenti. Which is why I often get ice cream instead and gelato is a special treat.

Also, am I the only one who loves how gelato containers are reusable?

Nope, you're not. Those containers came in handy when one of my dogs decided to open my 11 lb bag of protein powder that had just been delivered. I also use them to bring milk and protein powder to work without bringing a huge tub (thanks Cortelli!).

I feel like I'm finally in a group I can call home. I make all the ice-cream from scratch. I am an ice-cream snob (sorry B&J & Bluebell fans  )

My last batch of dark chocolate wasn't that great....it went to the neighbors. But the fav will always be Vanilla or Strawberry.

I hope you'll put some recipes in the recipe thread. I've tried a couple of times and haven't been blown away yet-- although my chocolate malt was pretty tasty.

nope- I love how sturdy they are- I've begun incorporating them into my sewing stash for beads and things.

I wish they were stack-able- that's a huge MINUS for them- but they hold up in my bag pretty well for transporting small projects and piles of beads.

Haha! Glad to see you're finding it useful! I now have a few Talenti containers with protein powder at work (for my coffee) and they will do duty once again come vacation time!

Oh, thanks for the reminder! I'll need to take a pint of powder with me next week. I use it in my coffee, too.

I have to figure out what I'm going to do for my ice cream/gelato fix while I'm down there. I want to try Publix mocha chip frozen yogurt, but I don't want to be stuck with one flavor for the week. I'll have to see if my bff's mom will finish whatever I leave there. This is a real first world problem!

I want to hear what you think about that Ciao Bella. If you like it, I'm going to see if they have that flavor at Balducci's. I want to know what you think of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, too. I wasn't a fan.

What happened to the "Join Group" thread in the F&N forum? Looks like the discussion was moved / reposted to a new thread with the same title, but I'm thinking all the posts were retained?

Never really seen that before here (unless there was some sort of train wreck - but even then, the mods usually just delete posts).

I've seen Ciao Bella but I've never tried it. Hmmm...

The chocolate chip cookie dough Talenti is good, it's just disappointing compared to other brands, I think. Not enough mix-ins.

I saw the Dreyer's frozen custards today and cursed my small freezer. I did pick up the salted peanut caramel Talenti after all though, I had one spot left in the freezer and it's just too good a deal to pass up. Still sad they don't have Tiramisu.
