I recently tried a couple of types of gelato - Breyers and Talenti. I like the Talenti better. But I generally just go with ice cream because it costs less (or I buy ice cream for the kids and hide Talenti in the back of the freezer for me!)
What is everybody's favorite flavor? (Sorry if it's been asked already)0 -

Ok, I will put together a Spring Cleanse thread. Acrylics and MrM, I can't remember, did you post it in general forums too or just in our group? I don't want to exclude people but I don't want to invite a bunch of anti-sugar harpies.

I think the holiday one was rough because everyone has so many commitments, eating daily sweets at a time of the year when there's already a lot of stress and people may be less active/have fewer discretionary cals to play with may have been difficult to manage.
I'm always ready for a good gelato cleanse.
I have the perfect time frame. We can start this Saturday, 3-14-15, Pie Day! And continue till 4-15-15 to celebrate getting our tax returns in (at least for the law abiding US citizens...). Easter falls smack in the middle so we can incorporate Cadbury eggs and Peeps, oh and if anyone is inclined, Guiness cupcakes for St Pats!
Sounds perfect, I won't be celebrating a tax return as I will be paying but less than last year so I guess I can celebrate that! I'm making these this weekend: http://www.browneyedbaker.com/irish-car-bomb-cupcakes/
I've made those before. They are gooo-ooooddd...
Here's another one of my favorite St. Patricks day baking treats. It's a Paula Deen recipe. I haven't actually made it since joining MFP. The 4 sticks of butter may deter me nowaday. but seriously these are the best brownies I've ever made.

I put the main thread in here and then posted a link to it out in the main forums. People got confused though so idk if that's the best way.0 -

I would say both the main forum and the group. I can agree some people got confused. Just look at the thread I made inviting people to the group. It turned into the review page at one point. Pretty funny. Let the harpies try and invade. I've got some people creative gifs lined up for the morons prior to getting the boot.
In other news, still not back to work. Saw Neurology yesterday and he's keeping me out till at least April 6th. Cat scan and MRI coming up this week.
In other other news.........it's not easy being green. Tough life chillin at the chiropractor as I type this. Heating pad under my neck, mini massage next.
Read this as "Thug life" the first two times. I need carrot cake.

I really wanted to try the cappucino but HEB only had the larger tubs and freezer space is limited, super antsy to try the Bacio and Affogato.
Hmmm, the Bacio may be next for us! Let me know how you like the Affogato. I'm not a huge fan of cherry generally, but so far they really haven't made anything I don't like lol0 -
MrM, I hope the massage helps. Certainly won't hurt0

Hope you feel better! When I had PT for 6 weeks, those massages they gave me after putting me through hell felt fantastic.0 -

Noooooooooooooooo! Stopped by Fresh Market in Palo Alto today to grab some more Gelato Fiasco and maybe another pint or two of something interesting. There were only 3 (!) pints of ice cream in the freezer, and not ice cream I wanted. Walked by the wine section and it was essentially empty. Bumped into a stockboy and asked what was going on - they are closing on Saturday. My source is gone. AND I missed a 40% of everything sale. I think I am going to have to hunt down some Mission Hill out of Santa Cruz which was recommended in the thread in the Food & Nutrition forum. I will also have to hunt for another high-end gelato source close by.
EDIT TO ADD:I'm not a fan of Whole Foods, particularly my local one which is at a busy intersection and the parking lot is crowded, etc. -- but it looks like it may become a necessary evil for some other options; at least I found I can get the Mission Hill there to try, and I understand they often have Jeni's and others, even if they add a Whole Foods premium to the already super premium pricing of some of these gelatos / ice creams.0 -

My favorite ice cream in general is Cinnamon Buns by Ben & Jerry's & I usually end up eating the whole pint of that.
My favorite Talenti at the moment is their seasonal Egg Nog & some of my other favorites are Salted Caramel Peanut, Southern Butter Pecan, & Caramel Apple Pie.

No boxers/tie pic yet (I'm not sure I even OWN a pair of boxers)...
Since @MrM27 's chihuahua gets so much love, thought I'd share my own

Insistent is the perfect word to describe him. Herky is his name (short for Hercules....because...well who wouldn't name a chihuahua Hercules). Also since I live in Iowa hawkeye country (tho my loyalty is to Northern Iowa...my alma mater)0 -

Ahaha, adorable. I love the Christmas sweater. HI HERCULES!!!!
This was our old dog that passed away 2 years ag . He wasn't even 2 years old.
I'm sorry man...losing a pet sucks. We had 3. Herky, a Jack Russell (Liz), and a 14 yo bichon fries (Eli). We lost Eli about 2 months ago0 -
I feel bad posting fast food porn after the sweet tributes to the family pets but...
My kids wanted McDonalds after swim lessons tonight. We talked them into Lion's Choice, a local fast food place that focuses on roast beef (but way better than Arby's, it's sliced to order and nice and rare, lots of seasoning and super spicy horseradish sauce). Had a roast beef and swiss on wheat, split large fries with the family, and we each had one of these beauties for $0.39 each. 130 cals. I love fast food...

Hope you're better soon.
And though you know this, a friendly reminder can't hurt. I was surprised when I took some time off lifting and the little cardio I did how much my TDEE was affected. I work a desk job, so that activity was pretty much a good chunk of my "extra" daily activity beyond sitting around, even if I was injured (heck, I could still sit at a desk and work phones / computers while not well enough to work out safely) -- you're more active in your normal routine and presumably doing a lot less walking and moving while you recover, so it may have a greater impact for you. Don't let the concussion also f up your body composition goals! Again, hope you're back doing what you want when you want very soon!

There's a local chain (Utah/Idaho area) called Arctic Circle that does toppers like that. Only they generally bring them around for free, for the customers who've bought meals. It's awesome! (The rest of their food is really good, too)0 -
