    Restocked my freezer today.

There were quite a few flavors, and I've never seen TH Gelato, so that was exciting.

Also picked up the Talenti Oatmel cookie anyway, because I'm curious.

I saw the TH Gelato yesterday, almost bought it but figured I would wait for one of you to try it first

As far as gelato goes, it was just 'okay'. The gelato was kind of like icy ice cream, if that makes any sense. It's got nothing on Breyer's gelato, which has that creamy/fluffy texture. The Peanut Butter was actually pretty good. It was like frozen peanut butter, and not those stupid fake swirls alot of ice creams have. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again. I'll definitely try the other flavors, but so far I'm not terribly impressed. I'm a little disappointed, actually. Maybe I was just expecting too much.

    Again, not my pic...

Yesterday when I restocked my freezer, I picked up these from Shoprite, because I had a coupon that made them $.49

    pancakekrimpets.gif

OMG, that was like sex in my mouth. It was SO EFFING GOOD. Literally, it was exactly like buttered and syrup pancakes. You could friggin taste the buttery goodness on top of the syrup. It was friggin amazing.

If you have Tastykakes in your area, you NEED this in your life. STAT.

Still no Talenti but I picked this up from HEB because I really wanted to try some gelato. I'd definitely buy it again, it's got great presentation and flavor.

I saw that brand at my grocery store this weekend and was wondering if it was any good. I still have a couple unopened pints from our local gelato place that I need to eat up, as well as a couple pints of Talenti before I try anything new...

This brand is SO good. So far my hubby and I've tried the Tiramisu - excellent, the Cappucino - also excellent, the Pistachio - wow, excellent, and the Stracciacella - still good, but not AS good as the others. Now we hardly ever buy anything else.

Hello -- just found this group. I remember the ice cream cleanse thread last year and wondered what happened to everyone!

Glad to see I picked a winner for my first gelato. :)

I really wanted to try the cappucino but HEB only had the larger tubs and freezer space is limited, super antsy to try the Bacio and Affogato.

I'm disappointed. I just saw they were coming out with gelato, but haven't actually seen it in the store yet. That's one thing Turkey Hill does right, the peanut butter swirls are actually peanut butter.

Talenti is 2 for $7 this week. I bought some of my old, stand-by flavors since I still can't find the new ones I want to try. I think I saw the Fudge Brownie, but I'm not a big chocolate ice cream/gelato/custard/frozen treat fan so I didn't grab any.

I'm holding out hope that my store will get them before our remodel starts next month. Otherwise, meh. Kroger has even less of a selection (no mint? Really?)

I haven't had a chance to check any of the Kroger Marketplaces yet. I'll be really disappointed if they don't have any either.

Yeah, the one in Englewood doesn't have a great selection

    Englewood co?

Ohio. Other than a connecting flight through Denver, I've sadly never seen the state.

Hai, my name is Kristin and I like sticking cold, sticky sweet things in my mouth. Wait... What?

I'm being boring and eating Great Value Rocky road, as of late. Because there's a Talenti drought.

What's everyone think about doing some spring cleansing? I think the holiday one was rough because everyone has so many commitments, eating daily sweets at a time of the year when there's already a lot of stress and people may be less active/have fewer discretionary cals to play with may have been difficult to manage.

I'm game but I've been boring lately. Eating a lot of the Gelato Fiasco dark chocolate caramel because you can't argue with the calorie count.

That's disappointing, I was holding out hope it would get a half decent review enough to give it to Mr. C.

But the Pancake Krimpets will be looking for those

    Hello my name is Chris

I had my gelato virginity broken last night when I gave into the peer pressure of this group. And now I can't stop thinking about it. Pretty sure I'm addicted. Is there a 12 step thread somewhere in here?

Ok not really but it was pretty friggin good. My job in high school was at a historic home made ice cream shop so I consider myself somewhat of a ice cream snob. But yeah I'll be going back for more talenti!

Now is there some oath I have to take or document I have to sign to become an official member?

Welcome to the group Chris! I'm still waiting for the boxer & tie picture.

Oath: I promise to never eat Arctic Zero or Bananas and pretend it even remotely resembles delicious ice cream or gelato.

I have the perfect time frame. We can start this Saturday, 3-14-15, Pie Day! And continue till 4-15-15 to celebrate getting our tax returns in (at least for the law abiding US citizens...). Easter falls smack in the middle so we can incorporate Cadbury eggs and Peeps, oh and if anyone is inclined, Guiness cupcakes for St Pats!

Sounds perfect, I won't be celebrating a tax return as I will be paying but less than last year so I guess I can celebrate that! I'm making these this weekend: http://www.browneyedbaker.com/irish-car-bomb-cupcakes/

Fair enough...tho I won't promise there won't be a few spoonfuls or scoops off the top...or that it won't just be an empty container. I mean someone has to taste test it first to ensure its safe right? RIGHT??!

Sounds like a good idea to me! Starting on π day sounds like a great plan, too.
