Okay, I'm back. Plagued by back problems and then a vacation to Oregon meant I didn't meet my July goal    First time since I started MY@C last November. But the world didn't end so here I am.
Back is getting better, but biking seems to aggravate it more then walking, swimming and easy runs so... Setting a more reasonable goal for this month. 120 Miles for August. Did some walking on vacation in the west so I've started making progress.

Adding another 25 miles to my total for the month. Up to 145 out of 400. The Tickerfactory is still not working and my bike computer is on the fritz. I think I've had it with my Wahoo RFLKT+. I'm going to switch both bikes to Garmin. I switched my focus to Garmin about four months ago and love it. Time to switch my Trek over as well.0

What would you recommend for a bike computer, with cadence and mileage counter that won't break the bank?0 -

Back home from the motorcycle trip, doing laundry and packing to leave for 3 days for a boy scout camping trip with my other son. Going to be way out in the boonies and it is very doubtful I'll have any signal to update.
See you Saturday night!

The Wahoo Fitness company makes a fairly inexpensive set up that uses your iPhone or Droid for the bike computer. I found that having the iPhone sitting up on my handle bars in the waterproof case was nice but running the display really plows through batteries. I actually had to get the battery extender for rides over 2 hours. If you shut the display off you can extend the battery by quite a bit but then what's the point of having it on your handle bars. It's really nice in that you can customize the screen and it has training aids and the speed and cadence sensors are inexpensive. DO NOT get the RFLKT+ to go with it. I have had nothing but problems with the RFLKT+. I haven't used the RFLKT, only the RFLKT+. The difference is the RFLKT+ picks up both Bluetooth (Wahoo uses almost all low energy Bluetooth) and ANT+. I have a power meter that is ANT+ so I needed the RFLKT+.
I ended up switching to a Garmin 510. It was not too expensive, the ANT+ sensors match up beautifully and it's really simple to use. You can get it even cheaper off Amazon instead of Garmin.com and you can get it bundled so the speed and cadence sensors come with it. The GPS has been much more accurate than using my phone for GPS. It does mean you need a HR sensor that transmits in ANT+. My bundle came with one, but I use a MIO Link and absolutely love it! If you want the Wahoo speed and cadence sensors and a Bluetooth HR monitor (Polar H7), Shoot me a personal message and I'll mail them to you for nothing.0 -
