@Fancycakemaker...welcome to an awesome group!! Yes any of those could count if you choose. You get to decide, and you set your goal based on what you think you can accomplish for the month...so you're only competing with yourself! =)

I got 3 miles in today on elliptical and treadmill walking.

FANCYCAKEMAKER - You bet they do! Just add up all the miles you cover in all three modes and track & report one number against one goal number. I sent you a PM with further details of how the challenge works.

    Welcome and good luck!

    Dean...I'm pretty sure you'll make it...

It was a good Saturday...walked w/my daughter then w/my husband and Bean!

Managed to get a 6.0 mile bike ride in tonight. Was battling a little bug today and that was all the energy I could muster. Okay, it was either a bug or the karaoke & beer... :noway::bigsmile:

Looking to do more/better tomorrow.

    8/23- 3.4 miles running

Today was my first trail race. I had a lot of fun. I think I could have gotten a better time but I paced myself to much because I'd heard that there were super steep hills and lots of stairs. It was challenging, but there was plenty of recovery time and it wasn't any worse than the trails I run everyday. Overall, it was a great learning experience and now I definitely know what how to approach the next race

Congrats Angelmo8 on your trail race. It sounds like you did well. Sometimes we make more of the race than what it really is like.

We've had about 3.5 inches of rain the past couple of days so I did 4.5 miles of sprints on the treadmill today. My back will be SCREAMING at me tomorrow!
My husband is trying to finish up our wheat harvest so he is not happy to have rain right now.....

    08/23 - 6.5 mile hike

    Total miles >>39.7

Is anyone else having trouble with TickerFactory? It doesn't seem to save my ticker; I keep having to create a new one, with a new password. :grumble:

The friend I am visiting had never been to a spin class before, and when she learned that I'm teaching now, she insisted that we go to her gym and I lead her through a workout. So, I pulled up one of my playlists and we headed out. It was really fun - just the two of us in the spin room, doin' our thing. She enjoyed the workout, and I estimate I got in probably around 17-18 miles, but to be "safe," I'm going to say I went 15. (Their bikes don't have the computer read-out like the bikes at my gym do).

And that is goal for me, for the month. Earlier than I expected!

Making GOAL today: WANDERAN (again!), ME - CONGRATULATIONS! Keep movin’ everyone!

DEAN – I’m challenging you to make goal! I know you can do it (unless something unexpected happens. Set yourself to it, and I’m confident you can make it, despite being so far “behind”)

ALETHAMARY – Glad to hear you’re feeling better!

ANGELMO8 – Congratulations on your first trail race. I was thinking of doing one this summer, but life got a bit too crazy. Maybe I’ll try one in the fall?

ASEYMOUR13 – You’re doing great . Post as you’re able, and just keep movin’!

FANCYCAKEMAKER – Welcome to the group. Go ahead and set a goal for the rest of the month, if you desire – no need to wait until September. Just tell us what the goal is, we’ll add you to the spreadsheet. You can get your miles in any way that tracks distance – so yes, walking, biking, elliptical, swimming, etc. Some people track ALL miles traveled (using tools like a FitBit) while others only track activity that is deliberate “exercise.” How you want to do it is completely up to you – just set your goal accordingly and get movin’! (I’m sure Dave’s PM explained all of this to you, as well)

DAVE – Ha. I hate that Karaoke and Beer Bug.

CALLIOPE610 – I know TickerFactory was having issues earlier this month, but it’s working fine for me now. Hopefully yours will get sorted soon, too.

It looks like the weekend is going well for many of us. YAY! :drinker:

I'm having to do most of my moving early or on the treadmill right now. The humidity outside is miserable, even at 7AM.

Walked 5.5 miles yesterday. Slowly chipping away at my deficit for the month.

    exercise.png

So glad I've managed to avoid that old karoake and beer bug. Sounds like fun anyway.

@janet. I hope the college trip went well yesterday. Yesterday was my first full empty nest day this year. And, it also was the first time we had to mail off a few things she forgot to take with her. (minor things like her work shoes and her glasses:huh: ) Less than 24 hours after we moved her in.
