I finally completed week 2. I had to re-do days 1 and 3 so instead of 3 runs in week 2 I did 5. I don't know what is wrong with me but I feel like have lost my mojo or something. When I am running I feel like my head is not in it and I stop when I really don't need to and take more breaks than I need to. I know I can run better than I have been and these mental hurdles are getting me discouraged. Anyway I will try to do better in week 3.0

SlackerMommy...try changing up your music! You can do this! :happy:0

Wk 2 day 3 done. It felt great!0

Started my Week 2 sessions this morning (Sept. 3, 2012). It went wonderfully. Nice and cool outside. I ran as prescribed for the session W2 D1 until the last interval where I added 5 more minutes to make it a 20 minute interval. Felt good. My next run is on Thursday which I am looking forward to. On Saturday I am participating in a 5K in Rapid City to benefit Care Net. Really excited about that. I am sooo ready.0

GREAT JOB, MY FRIEND!!! As you know, I started W2 with you yesterday. I'm liking the training esp as I think about my C25K days. I remember back then I thought I never would be able to run a 5K but I did...so I have no doubt if we put in the sweat equity into the B210K we'll be able to run a 10K in no time at all. Good luck on Saturday!!!
W2D1 - on pavement
W2D2 - treadmill (Wed)
W2D3 - on treadmill or track, pending weather (Fri)0 -
Started this cool morning with my W2 D2 session. The runs are challenging especially the 1st 15 min interval and then by the 2nd I have settled into a rythym. I find myself talking myself through it a bit more on the final interval but then in the end I always want to see if I can go a little bit further so I challenge myself. Today... like the last session I added 5 minutes on to the last interval. Today's session challenged me, but I feel AWESOME now that I have met the challenge. Looking forward to my 5K run this Saturday. Great Stuff. Happy running everyone.0

^^ GREAT JOB!!!
I'm a little behind schedule because I had knee issues. My left knee is not 100%. From time to time, I have to watch it. So today I should have been doing W2D3, but instead it was D2. I did it on the pavement at the park. I am proud that I got it done. It was a scorcher in the 90's. The heat was oppressive and it was humid but I pushed through and got it done. It's interesting. Yesterday I tried to run on the treadmill but after a minute I had to stop. My knee was really feel icky, but today on the pavement, it was pretty good. Isn't the impact harsher on pavement??? Hmmm...if anyone has a theory...would love to hear it.
I plan to do D3 on Sunday.0 -
Did not do my W2 D3 session today b/c I registered for a 5K... which went very well. I came in at 27 minutes... woohoo ... fist pump.:drinker:
Now I must rest and figure out my plan of attack for this next week. I am nursing a sore hip now since I did not know my own limits during yesterday's workout, so my next run will probably be on Thursday to give everything time to adjust and heal properlly. I think I will do my W2 D3 session on Thursday and see how it feels after that. Then hopefully on to week 3. Keep up the great work everyone. Lookin' Good!!!0 -
Did a repeat this morning of W2 D2.. and it went great. I did a 5 min warmup then 15-1-15-1-21 then a 17 min cool down walk. I like extending that last interval to challenge myself just a bit further. Happy Thursday group.

W2D1 run today was the hardest to date. There are too many little uphills in my neighborhood which slow me way down. I want to move to an area that's flat! Got a stitch in my side at the first 15 minute interval so that slowed me down even further. Hoping for a better run on Wednesday.0

Great job hanging in there with your run. Sounds like it was throwing all kinds of stuff at you on this session. Hills are tough for sure. Way to persevere. Here's to a great next run.0

Thank you, Jaccy.
Finished Week 2! My W2D2 was my best run to date. Today was a bit difficult because I needed more water, so I stopped when the lady told me to instead of running through the cooldown. Ready for W3!0 -
Reviving Week 2!!
I finished Week 2 day 2 - and it was tough...I think I didn't get enough rest last night or something!! I'm going to slow down even more for day 3 and see if that helps.0 -
I didn't even see this post. Yep. Slow down to get faster!0

After finally completing week 1, I moved on to week 2 this morning. I ran 3 x 15 mins with 1 min walk in between. The last 7 mins seemed to go on for ever but I kept glancing at my watch, not good.
I think I covered 8K (4 miles) perhaps a bit more. I must invest in a decent gadget to help me track my runs. I'm relying on a really cheap pedometer and I know it's giving me a false reading.
Any one else at week 2?0 -
That's awesome Anne, I hate it when a run seems to go on forever and my watch seems to be going reaaaallllly slow!0
-
Day 2 done - 3 x 15 min with 1 min walk in between. To be honest, I did actually run a further 15 mins (as it was such a beautiful morning). :happy:0

Sometimes you've just got to run!0

1 more day in w1 and then I am with you again! Wait for me!!!!!!!
You are all doing great and you are a fantastic motivation for me. Keep up the good work!0 -
lol mamakira, I'll wait for you. I can't exercise for a few days anyway at the moment anyway, after having an operation yesterday, so you'll catch up with me soon enough.0

After week 1, i was excited about week 2, but I just didn't have a good run yesterday. I hit a wall half way through and I didn't complete the workout. I guess I bad run is better than no run, but looks like I will give week 2 another shot Thursday.0
-
My app is 4 x 12 min runs for week 2. What app are you guys doing that have 3 x 15 min runs?0
-
Successfully completed Day 1 of Week 2. This was my second attempt, I just hit a wall around the 2 mile last week. It was a pretty good run. I think I have to work on pacing. I seem to get slower with each rep. In the end I did 3.7 miles run, 4.22 miles including warm/cool down0

I finally completed day 3 of wk2 today. I had a small operation 2 weeks ago and it really set me back more than I anticipated. I did the 3 x 15 mins with relative ease considering I haven't ran for 2 weeks. I was getting a bit worried that that was it, I'd never run again.
mrsmalcom - I'm just following what's shown under the topic Week 2 on the discussion board of this group. I think we must run about the same pace. All I have is a cheap pedometer to record my distance/cals burned but it's not at all accurate. I know for the last 15 mins, I'm really plodding. I've watched myself on a video "plodding" and it's not pretty :laugh:0 -

I did day 2 of week 2 today. Plan to finish the week Saturday. So glad that I have someone on the same schedule. My run was 3.85, 4.4 miles with wu/cd walks. I was a little faster than day 1, but hoping to get to a 4 mile run in this Saturday. I use the Rundouble App. It is 4 12 minute runs, with a 1 min walk in between. Next week I move to 3 18 min runs. So i guess there is a difference in some of the programs.0 -
Finished week 2 today, 4.01m for run, 4.55 including warm up/cool down walk. Glad week 2 is done, but super nervous about week 3. My app says 3 18 min runs for week 3. sounds pretty tough. But hey I made it this far.0

Yeah, well done mrsmalcolm. See you at week 3. :drinker:0
