am sooo annoyed with my doctors office. I'm in the last 2-3weeks on this pregnancy which I should be seeing my doctor once a week. They can't get me in till next week& it's with another doc in the practice that I do not like!!! (last apt was tues 11th) !! although the weekly apts are a pain in the butt. It'd be nice to hear the heart beat still and know how am progressing along. and make sure the baby isn't breech. Felt like she moved side ways yesterday. My obgyn that I've seen the entire pregnancy is off till Jan 7th!!!! and didn't care to mention that to me last week when I saw her. I'm soo mad. :(

Time to make that angry phone call babe...

over here they don't keep you in unless you are more than a 4cm. I live in WA state. I guess each hospitals have their way of doing things.

11 wks will FLY by!! I still have a ton of things to do and I have just 4wks left. Lol.

How are my fellow mommy to be' s a doing? I am getting really uncomfortable, and keep having nighmares about having the baby at home, in the car or in the hospital lobby . My next checkup and membrane sweep is on Thursday afternoon. I have a feeling that my dr will going to be shocked how open I will be by then. I was already 3 cm open last Friday and I feel that things happened since.

doing good here! getting by day to day. some days are good, some days totally suck, but overall, ALMOST DONE. lol. I have been really nauseous lately :-/ ugh. 36wks now, so hopefully I have less than 4wks to go! I really don't want to go over, but I want to prospone induction as much as I can. I hope I go on my own around 39wks. Lol. I am physically and mentally done being pregnant. LOL I have a Dr appt tomorrow and I am SUPER curious to see if I have any progress!! I have been feeling him really low lately, so hopefully he's pressing hard enough on my cervix to thin it out a bit so I can dilate!! HAHA

keep us updated on your appt! I am curious to see how it goes! You might have the baby this weekend! woohoo

They probably would have kept me with first baby. They have quite different take on second pregnancies though.
I think is common to have opened cervix at the second or subsequent pregnancy.

I'm in my second trimester, but just wanted to comment. My first child I stayed dilated at 3cm for 3 weeks before I went into labor & second child I also dilated to a 3 & stayed that way until I went into labor 2 weeks after that. Not to be a debbie downer for all you folks hoping this means they're going to send you on to the hospital. Just passing on my experience :) Good luck to all! You're almost there!!!

I used fragrance free detergent for the first 2 yrs. I only recently started putting my daughter's clothes with ours and she is 2.5. Its up to you if you want to use special detergent. I would say at least fragrance-free until you know if he has any reaction to detergents.

Any particular brands you find better than others?

We usually just get whatever is on sale.

I know they make baby detergents but they are expensive, and I'm not sure if it's worth it or not if I can get a generic fragrance-free for half the price.

With my son I used Dreft. With my daughter we use All fragrance free and I find it to be not any more expensive than any other detergent and I was my stuff in it too.

My birth story. Finally have a few minutes my mom is helping out. At 245am on Monday Dec. 10 I woke up with lower back pain that would come and go not very strong so I thought maybe they were just gas pains since they went away. Over the next few hours they increased and I began to time them at 5am they were 13 min apart and when I went to the bathroom there was some blood. Even though my ob instructed me not to call until they were 7-8 min apart I called the on call number anyway. The doctor on call told me to come right in and she would call the hospital to let them know. So I woke up my husband and my parents and we prepared to leave. Of course my wonderful husband had to make coffee first. We leave and the contractions are now every 30 sec. I went from 13 min apart to 30sec apart in less than 30 min. I thought for sure I was going to have this baby in the car. Thank god at 6am there is no one on the road. Get to the hospital and have to go in through the ER and the poor woman at the front desk calls up to labor and delivery telling them that they better hurry or I will be having this baby in the waiting room. They get me upstairs and into a room and I am finally in the bed at 630am. The nurse checks me and actually says do you want the good news or the bad news. Bad news was that I was 8cm and I could not have an epidural and the good news was that it would be fast. I started to cry I told my husband that I was not going to do this and everyone got a big laugh out of me. They made me get on all fours to get the baby to go face down since she was face up and my husband tried to rub my back and I thought I would slap him. My doctor showed up at 7am and actually asked me what I felt about pain medication after I was told no epidural. They gave me fetonol and by the way all it does is make you dizzy it does not alleviate the contractions at all. The nurse puts the iv in and hits a vein and I start to bleed everywhere and my doctor gets angry at the nurses because all the plastic gloves were coming out of the box with holes and the pads they used had a defect in the packaging so the nurses were running around trying to fix these problems. He ended up having to break my water and thats when the trouble began. The water had color to it which meant she could have swallowed meconium so they added extra nurses and had a baby nurse from the NICU for just in case. So I had a large audience for my delivery. The contractions increased and I wanted to push and they kept telling me to just breath which everyone knows is not what you want to hear. The pressure became so bad that I had to push just to get her out I told the nurses they better get my doctor or he was going to miss the birth. 10 min. and 5 pushes later she popped out and yes the pain is as bad as you think it is I do not ever want to do that again without an epidural. Jordan Kathryn was born at 728am and was 8#12oz she was purple when she was born because of the meconium that they laid her in my gown for 4 hours my poor husband couldn't hold her for 4 hours until they could get her body temp up. We are having issues with her breathing through her nose because the inside of her nose is abnormally large so her nasal passages are narrow but other than that she is perfect she isn't as good as my son was but we are trying with the sleeping and feedings. No long term effects from the meconium and she finally is gaining weight after losing 12oz in the first week. So hopefully it gets better. Unfortunately her nasal passages we just have to wait and see when she grows that the nasal passages will become larger.

Oh wow. What a birth story!! Sorry to hear about the meconium!! Worst nightmare! I am glad that it didn't have any long term effects. It totally sucks you couldnt take the epidural! I was lucky that the nurse didn't check me before I got the epidural. Lol. I was 7.5cm dilated already. She checked me right after he put it in. It was the best thing ever!! LOL. You just confirmed it for me that I better leave the house right away and not wait for contractions 5mins apart, My OB told me only to call if contractions are 5mins apart for 30min.
I am glad things are getting better! Congrats on your precious baby girl!!

Had my group B test done today, hurray. Not. She also checked me and I am at a 1cm. Also said baby's head is down hard, not sure what that means. But I guess its progress and its nice knowing he's head down. Yay. I didn't gain any weight since my last appointment and she started asking me if I am eating ok. I was like ya, i am eating just the same. Lol. She said she just wanted to make sure I am not starving myself because she had a talk about me gaining too much weight last time. I said I wasn't starving myself, I didn't change much except fewer sweets.

    Hows everyone else doing?

Sounds like you're doing great and moving right along!

I'm good, just trying to stay busy. I'm starting to get to the, "tired of being pregnant" stage, so keeping busy distracts me and keeps the time moving along.

I have a lot of steam I could blow off in a doctor's direction for ya!

But yeah, sadly, sometimes you have to get nasty to get anything done with doctors. So many of them just don't pay enough attention. Do what you gotta do!

Yay pineapples are working for u already. I wasn't even that far along at my 36week check up. yay on not gaining any weight! lol take that doctor. hahaha

I've been having "false labor" for the past 2 days. My contractions were happening about every 30mins for several hours but sure enough they stopped. but it got me packing my hospital bag so I'm ready. And washed the car seat cover & going crazing with my nesting mode . reorganizing every closet and drawer. probably why i keep having more contractions. I can't stop cleaning.

Jamie - you're so close! ahhhhhhh can't wait to see pics of your lil guy!

mellynat - I vacuumed baseboards last weekend and think that officially puts me in the insane category...I just couldn't handle thinking about dust on my baseboards! I'm sorry your doctor is so frustrating :( I probably wouldn't say anything either (or I'd make my husband call hahaha)

cocolo - I had my Strep B test today too! I was a bit surprised when she came at me with two swabs - apparently I missed that memo, hahaha.

Had my 35 week appointment today - she couldn't even find my cervix because it's so high, so I'm guessing that means I probably don't have to worry about an early baby...hmmmm.

Tomorrow is my due date, but baby is not showing signs of popping out any time soon.

Last night my husband told me several of his clients have asked that I hold off having this baby for at least one more week. Lol. I now have this image of men in business suits practicing voodoo on a pregnant doll, saying: "Stay in there baby. Stay in there." Not too paranoid for me to imagine this, right? They must be the ones responsible for my lack of progress! :-)

Hey ladies!! I've been so busy since my little one got here, I haven't had time to breathe! I thought I'd share my birth story!

I was scheduled to be induced the morning of 12-12-12 at 7 AM but had what felt like period cramps that woke me up at 2:45..I didn't know what it was at first because they weren't consistent and were pretty sporadic so I decided to get up and walk around and take a hot shower and sure enough they started becoming consistent! We got to the hospital at around 5:30 after timing them for an hour and a half.I was at a 5-6 and 95% with pretty mild contractions..my doctor got there around 7, I was at a 6 and fully effaced. He was still pretty high so to get things going they broke my water and that's when the contractions got serious!! I think I made it till about 10 and I was in so much pain I just couldn't handle it. My contractions were so intense and so close together I felt like I couldn't get a break..so that's when I got the epidural. I felt so weak and shakey I knew I had to do something and was so glad I did! I was able to relax and enjoy everything :) So at noon my doctor comes in to check me and says its time to push! I pushed for an hour and 7 minutes and there my beautiful little boy was!! I had a mirror to watch the whole thing, which was amazing! And I definitely do not regret getting the epidural. Jaxon was 8lbs 2oz and 19 inches long. It felt like just yesterday that he was born!

Good luck to all you mommy's due soon! It will be the best experience of your life ♥

Jenny_Rose77 - Awww, it's always rubbish when you go past your due date, get out and about. I did enjoy being out and people asking "When are you due?" and being able to answer ... yesterday!! I hope it all happens for you soon!

MrsCarter00 - Wow! It's like he knew he was going to be forced out!! That's a great birth story. I love your attitude to the epidural, sometimes I think there's so much pressure to give birth without pain relief.

Well it's HOT here, I woke in the middle of the night last night soooooo damn hot. Put the fan on, and got myself a couple of ice packs from the freezer ... pheweeee. Had to have a nap this afternoon too to escape the heat. I can't believe I have had three pregnancies and everyone has had my third trimester over summer! Anyway, there's apparently a big storm coming on Christams eve, so hopefully that will bring some cooler air, though it is a shame we won't be spending Christmas day on the beach. Merry Christmas everyone! Hope those of you nearing (or over) your due dates have your little ones in your arms soon.

I completely 100% made up my mind I am going to get the epidural! LOL. I have been in a lot of pain this week and I just sooo sick and tired of hurting. I want a pain free medicated birth atleast since I can't control the pain I am in right now. HAHA
It all started out sunday, was feeling nauseous and later that evening my daughter hit me really hard in the head on my ear bone. Well here comes Monday, I had a splitting headache the whole night a barely slept. I was a walking zombie.Tuesday, Super nauseous, huge headache, earache, swollen glands in my throat. Wednesday, same as Tuesday only intensity is 10x worse. Thurday, headache GONE, earache GONE, nausea GONE. Thank God, but I still have the sore and tender swollen glands in my throat. Either way I decided to do some exercise 150squats and 50push-ups. It felt GOOD. Well night-time rolls up, making dinner and I slice off 1/4 inch of my tip of my thumb!!! OMG pain galore. Night time, I barely slept, my freaking finger hurt so bad!! Yesterday (friday) I was super super sore from my exercise from thursday night, my finger pain increased. Tylenol does NOT help with Nothing. My throat is hurting more now and it hurts to eat and to swallow and drink anything. UGH. Well night-time rolls around. I freaking woke up in pain 4-5x hearing myself whimmpering in my sleep. Finger pain is 20x worse at this point. OMGGGGGG and my throat is worse at this point too.I start crying cause I can't take it anymore. I am tired of feeling like crap 1 week straight. I need to change my bandages tonight and i am dreading it cause it will hurt soo freaking bad. I am just about 37wks now and I sure hope he stays until 39wks cause I am just not ready. I need time to recooperate and to feel painfree once and for all. Lol. how selfish am I.
