Had an ultrasound last week and it looks like little dude is doing fine. OB seemed a bit worried that he is measuring 2 weeks ahead, but we knew from the get go genetics dictates he will most likely be a big baby. Such is life. Not to mention how unreliable I have heard those ultrasound weight estimates are, not sure how much I really even trust their estimates.0 -

I'm a bit jealous of your ultrasound. My doc thinks my baby is small though, so maybe that's why I didn't get an extra scan? Here's me:

I had my baby shower yesterday, and it was lovely and really touching to me. My mom and my sister traveled up for it though, and we ate terribly. As a result of that and doing too much/staying up too late, I feel awful this morning. Surprised I'm only up a pound with how terrible and bloated I feel.
I'm just done. My husband got laid off on Friday, and I'm so physically uncomfortable and tired. Time to come out, baby!0 -

We walked and hiked a TON on vacation and really only had 2 meals a day (brunch and dinner) so I'm actually pretty surprised to see the scale up so high. I thought I was doing really well on vacation, but... oh well! I still feel okay with this weight gain, but want to make sure I don't have too many more 2 lb+ gains in a week. More water, more veggies!0 -

Probably because you were at a good weight starting out and have had no complications. My OB wants to act like the sky is falling because I started this pregnancy overweight, its getting a bit old...0 -

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. I had to do fertility treatments to get pregnant and have been a nervous nelly since conception, so I've been thankful for my laid-back OB because only one of us can freak out at a time and it's going to be me! It's too bad you don't get the same kind of care. I'm just grateful we're both getting towards the end.0 -

I think unless I put on a dramatic amount of water weight in the next few weeks, this is about where I'm going to stay. I hope it's enough for a healthy baby and for breastfeeding. I've been absolutely ravenous since about week 36, so I'm going to try to just go with it for a while and see what happens. I feel really guilty about falling so far short of my goal because of course my child's health is more important to me than my vanity. Maybe I'll bring it up with my doctor this week just for peace of mind.0 -

I haven't weighed myself in a while - there's been a lot going on and I decided the stress of worrying about if I'm gaining too much was more than I could handle on top of everything else. I guess I'm sort of on track but will probably go over 30 lbs weight gain when all is said and done. I eat healthy as often as possible and have been on restricted activity, so not sure what else I can do except let my body do its thing. I had my 28 week ultrasound this morning and my doc was not concerned about my weight. I also received some wonderful news - I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa at 20 weeks and when we checked today, the placenta had completely moved out of the way and is no longer a concern. Such a relief! I am no longer on pelvic rest, so it will be nice to be able to return to the gym, yoga, etc. And, most importantly, baby is healthy and we got to see its sweet face (we are not finding out baby's sex). I've never seen anything so beautiful
My doc says because of my height, I need to be aiming for 80 grams of protein a day now that I'm in the third tri. What the what? I feel like I've already been struggling to get enough protein anyway. I'm just not a big meat eater and beans hurt my stomach. What have you ladies been doing for protein?
@phreekles congratulations to you! Hope you and your hubby are enjoying post-wedding celebrations!1 -

I really upped the exercise last week so hoping I'm retaining a bit of water. @RAxB and @wantoldme Thank you! Yes, feeling super relieved
@1fit_mamma I don't have any advice but will say that my gains have been sporadic rather than steady. Some weeks several lbs and others not much. Seems like this kind of thing can really vary based on the mamma and the baby. You're doing great!

170 prepregnancy weight, at 185 now: 25 weeks pregnant, 5'4"... I'm looking like I'm due any day but I still have 4 more months! Started walking every other morning for an hour, hopefully that slows my gaining down.0

Need to get back on track. I have been letting my irritation with work get to my eating habits, which obviously isn't helping with keeping weight gain in check or solving any work issues. Silly emotional eating.
Had a really tough weekend, I guess the kid had a growth spurt because I was just super uncomfortable and distended feeling. Seems like things may have stretched out and adjusted now because I am feeling better today. Definitely starting to see why the 3rd trimester is tough, and how women end up looking forward to labor if it means unloading this thing.1 -
