The beautiful Zim Zim Valley in the Knoxville Wilderness Area, north of Lake Berryessa, CA. 8+ mile round trip to hike the valley to the top of the waterfall.
You have to cross the creek nine times as you head up the valley.
Zim Zim Falls
Made it to the top of valley, above the falls!

Hiked the Clark Trail today. It is 5.3 miles of Missouri Hills. I found myself doing it for more of a workout than enjoying the view. Though there is nothing wrong with that, sometimes I would rather "stop and smell the roses."0

Did the Lewis Trail again today. Here is a Missouri hill using HDR.

Nice! That looks like a beautiful trail.0 -
Had the day off yesterday and the sun was shining ... so off I went for my first hike of spring. I hadn't been to the Stevensville Conservation Area before so I checked it out. I took the hike around the pond. It made and eerie sound as the sun's heat started melting the pond's ice. It was like it was hanging on for dear life. But Spring is in the air.
A nice bridge welcome's you to the trail
Loving the sunshine
There's still some cracking icy snow on the trail
Beautiful Sun
Yay, a blue jay ... spring is coming!!

4667 calorie burn today, but the pain was worth having my first Spring hike of 2014.

Beautiful pictures! I so envy you. Saw a woodpecker myself, unfortunately I'm limited to my phone. It would have been so nice to have been able to take a close up.0

Took a hike in Niagara Falls today and ended up down by the falls. Lovely to see at this time of year. Some pretty awesome ice formations.
I should have obeyed this sign ... couple of pretty slippy dangerous spots near the top.

Grammiemaggs AMAZING PHOTOS Great job0

Great pics from Niagara!!!
I hiked a state park called Lone Elk today in West St. Louis County. It is a 3.2 mile hike around a lake, with the potential to see elk at any turn. There is a road that goes around the lake as well. The road also enters an area with buffalo. It is one of my favorite hikes in St. Louis area.

That sounds like an awesome place to hike. You have to go pretty high around here to catch a glimpse of elk0
-
But you have to stay in your car to see the buffalo/bison. Thank goodness!!

@ JO I'm the same way. I love sharing pictures of where I've been. I'm jealous that you can get that close to elk where you are.0

Very short hike (2m) yesterday at Pickle Springs State Natural Area near Hawn State Park.. If I were by myself I'd do it more than once.
Nice bluff
Small waterfall
Cool Rock Formation - plenty of places to climb around on, but tough with the camera

8.2 mile hike in sprinkles, then small light hail, then nothing, then a mile in the rain, but here is the miracle, I had an umbrella with me.
The bluff at about mile marker 4 looking down at the Katy Trail which goes across the entire state I believe for cyclists, walkers, runners, etc Keep posting your photos!!!

We just had a new park open last week - the trail is a former section of Highway 1 in an area called Devil's Slide. The road had to be closed so often due to slides that they eventually built a tunnel that was completed last year. It's awesome that they turned the old road into a walking/biking path! Finally had a chance to go walk it after work yesterday.

What a beautiful place to take a hike or bike ride!0

My friend showed me a cute little trail that I didn't know about that's right in my own neighbourhood. Who knew??
She found the one little spot of snow left to roll around in ... silly puppy

What a beautiful place. Love how dogs go insane with snow. My Senior dog turns into a puppy when she gets near snow.0 -
Love those pics grammiemaggs!!
Hiked 2.75 at Graham Cave State Park in Danville, MO today. Nice hike, will be prettier in spring. Also walked a bit in the neighborhood, no pics from there tho'
Hope you are all doing well and getting out. It is supposed to rain the next two days in St. Louis, so I don't know if I'll get out, tho' I want to. Poncho anyone?
