  • I would say it is MOST definitely too much. With 1.5 hour sessions youre already doing 6 hours a week. To maintain strength just hit the big 3--squats, Deads, and bench 5x5 on different days--no more than that--just 5 minutes or so--do that 2x a week. So 6 days a week you're doing major lifts but only for a short time. If you're tired/sore just once a week until pt is over.

I agree with the above. If the army PT stuff is compulsory then drop the volume of the heavy weights. Low cals + ****loads of exercise is generally not a good idea long term. Got to do what you got to do though. The PT stuff sounds like it would burn some pretty decent cals though.

Thanks guys! That is exactly what I thought and was scared of :/ PT just started last week, so this hasn't been going on long

I have to do the Army PT since I am a MS III and going to be leading it next year. I have been in the ROTC for 3 years :) so something I always have done.

PT is one reason I eat at least 2k calories a day and do little cardio. No reason to!
My lifts are currently just squats, deads, bench, overhead press, and cleans. Think I need to adjust?

I figured that I could be over training which is why I asked!
Had this same confusion last year *sigh* not sure how to work around it

I'd add rows or pullups for shoulder health

Ran a report for the last week

BodyMedia Fit puts me at a 3024 calorie deficit.

    aaah that's good then

I don't use my BMF anymore but for the 9 months I did it was pretty much spot on with predicted weight loss/gain.

Mine has been spot on too! I am terrible at estimating/guessing anything, so it has come in handy.

When I got it I found I was under eating by A LOT at 120 pounds I had a 1,000 cal deficit everyday just by eating 1500 calories xD oops!

I think this is it, i've got my estimates pretty good i think, so im not sure it'd be worth the purchase
