Hello and welcome to the group that acknowledges alcohol. We like it.
Most of us drink it. We struggle with the effect it has on our weight loss. We support each other when we strive to control it. We support each other when we fail to control it.
This is a support zone. Not a judging zone.
It's April!!!! the weather is warming and the cold beverages are flowing. It is going to be a challenge to keep it moderated but I will do my best. The sun the last two days has been wonderful but I did lush it up a bit.
My goal this week is to keep it to one per night. Wish me luck 'cuz I am going to need it.

I've given up on the idea of not drinking it. It's going to happen no matter how much I saw I am going to be "good" Cheers!0

Thanks Robin!
Quoting from our other thread, felt like crap yesterday, blame it on the very late night dinner with ale Saturday. Was much more moderate Sunday, only 1 glass of wine, dinner at 5. Best sleep in memory! Joe thinks it was because we're finally able to leave the window open at night, (yes, Liz, Spring HAS come to SW Idaho!). I think it was the early dinner and moderate hooch intake. Whatever it was, I'll take it!
We leave on vacation Thursday but will try to think of it as retirement practice instead of woo hoo partay mode.
My goals for this week:
Monday 0
Tues 1 wine
Wed 0
Thurs 1 pint and NO MORE
Fri, Sat, Sun 1 whatever and NO MORE.
Hugs,
Barbara0 -
Happy April!!!
The weather has been very nice the past couple of days and iced cold vodka has been flowing. We had a very very lushy weekend.
Thursday, we decided to walk to dinner. Had 3 beers, 1 shot and a glass of wine when I got home.
Friday, we were both off from work so we had 1 beer, 1 grape and sprite zero and 2 LARGE pineapple with sprite zero.
Saturday, easter celebration with the in laws and I got hammered. 1 beer, several pineapple vodka and sprite zero, and some white wine.
Sunday-2 large pineapple vodka and sprite zero.
Also ate like crap all weekend. I need to clean it up this week...HAWAII on sunday, woohoo!!!!

Though I've been lushy, each day the drinks have been over a long period of time AND I stopped when I felt I was at my limit and had water so I haven't had a hangover it's nice being able to enjoy some drinks and still wake up feeling great. Husband is home this week and instead of a vacation we are staying home to get stuff done around the house. We may still go to NY for a couple Mets games at the end of the week though. Not sure what our staycation has in store for drinks this week but we shall see!
Happy April all :flowerforyou:0 -
bumping the new thread to keep up with my lushes :happy:0

bad bad weekend for the calorie tracking....
goal to pull zeros this week....at least until friday0 -
I decided I am no longer drinking and am going to be giving up this thread.0

Agh!! What a drinking weekend. The sisters left today with their families. I love all of them but my liver is safer in MN than in Chicago.
I've decided to do an Abstaining April. Or, more like detox April.
Abstaining - Verb
1.Restrain oneself from doing or enjoying something.
2.Refrain from drinking alcohol.
Yep, that is the plan.0 -
nice try, diana. i may be only on my 1st cup of coffee, but I'm not falling for it.
new month, back from vacay and I need to get back on track.
Sun-0
no vodka this week, and 0 or just 1 glass of wine. i'm actually looking forward to a good workout, altho I know it's going to hurt.0 -
I actaully did pretty well all week. Was a little dissapointed in myself yesterday. I wasn't going to drink, as it was not one of my designated drinking days, but did. Box red out of a solo cup. I logged 20 oz, but that damn boxed wine....I just kept topping it off bit by bit. After watching the UL player break his tibia in half, I needed a drink. (Yeah, I live in Louisville so big deal....) Ew. Anyways, I was only over 1 drink on Saturday to make 6 total and I had a little glass of wine in the hot tub after 10 miles around 2, so this was actually really good for me. Drinking wine last night made me have some terrible insomnia. I was up from 3:30 to 6am. I'm dragging @ss today.....
I plan on stick with my goal: 2 weeknights of drinking 3 or less each and I can drink 5 each on Friday and Saturday.0 -
I decided I am no longer drinking and am going to be giving up this thread.
We may be lushes Diana but you can't FooL us.
So Kim, Abstaining April or AA (really?) Good luck. I wouldn't be able to at all since I will be going to the So Cal Renn Faire and doing a lot of wenching about which involves copious amounts of ale. You did so well last time you challenged yourself. I am sure you will do great this time.
So I will be doing my own "Moderation April Measuring Alcohol", or MAMA  I think that is appropriate for this lush.0 -
Hello Lushes! Happy April!!! Ready for the beautiful spring weather to come upon us...today is it all cloudy & dark & COLD in Kansas
Going to my favorite brewery & pizzeria with my friend tonight. Will only have 1 beer (hopefully). Then aiming for 0's the rest of the week...until Friday!0 -
Husband and I cleaned up the garage and organized all the junk for the guys to come take tomorrow and got a lot of other housework done. This company is coming tomorrow with a dumpster and they load it up and haul it away in one day. Plus they recycle whatever they can so even though it costs a little more than if we were to rent our own dumpster it's worth it for a few reasons. I also got my first work out in forever on the bike. It's amazing how quickly you can get out of shapebut I did it and now I'm beat. Thinking salad for dinner and some wine while vegging on the couch with husband0

Sydney, you actually DO well with the moderation so you should be fine.
Ashley, hubs told me about that leg break this morning and said it was GROSS.
Diana, It's April Fools' Day, right?
Robin, Love the MAMA - I think at this point AA just might be appropriate for me. I would love to see your wench-ness live in action and I hope you have a great time. Have an ale for me :drinker:
Briget and Kat - looks like you both have nice evenings planned. It's nice to get rid of junk.
We owe thousands and thousands in taxes. I hate the government. They just suck the good people dry. I won't even be able to afford liquor anymore. And, so, now I'm crabby.
Day 1 with remorse0 -
I could never stay away from you lushes or alcohol completely for that matter! But how do we know that the others who talked of abstaining or moderation were not kidding either?0
-
Beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest. Hope everyone's April is a good one, and for those who are under some misfortunes, may they get resolved soon!0

Monday = 4
We walked to one of our fave reataurants and split a (half price) bottle of rose' and then I had 2 more glasses at home. Sh*tty day so I didn't care that I went over 1. No drinking till Thursday for me.0 -
Nothing last night and nothing tonight either. Len is going away wednesday and thursday night for training, so not quite sure if I'll drink or not?!0
-
I picked up some extra hours at work tomorrow and Thursday so my lushiness will definitely be under control.
I still plan to use my one day pass possibly this Friday for wine night. This will be our last month since I cancelled the membership. Supporting local merchants and the malls is completely curtailed for the moment. Well, probably a lot longer than a moment.0 -
Majorly craving a margarita!!! Just thought you all should know, so if anyone wants to have one for me please do
Oh and we owe over $5K in taxes this year so I feel your pain Kim!0 -

Messed up my back in my boot camp workout yesterday. I'm sure a week off and all that vodka didn't help.
so I'm stuck maybe just doing the bike. Blah
2 glasses of red wine....I poured half of 2nd back.0 -
I guess we need to change our number; we got back 7k. :blushing: The thing about that is I love getting money back, but then I put it in savings and feel guilty spending it. Nice to give the government an interest free loan......0

About a bottle of white last night wile watching Justified, spaced out though and when we felt sleepy instead of fighting we went to bed. I drink about 3 glasses of water during the night, sometimes more so I woke up feeling great again We're just waiting for the guys to come take all our junk, man the garage and basement look amazing and will be even better after all the garbage is gone. Not sure what's on deck for us today but I definitely want to get another work out in and I'm sure there will be wine later :drinker: it may be a staycation/clean the house week but husband is still off of work so it counts as a vacation in regards to drinks0
-
I hated it when I had to pay taxes, tho fortnately never in the thousands. Now that DH is retired, we actually got some hundreds back, liked THAT much better
Diana you sure got me!
Congrats everyone who did well yesterday (me too, pat myself on back) and
Couragio to all who struggled. Today is a new day.
Was hoping for another great sleep due not so late dinner and no hooch, alas twas not to be. so while not hungover, I am draggin' a bit today.
Hugs,
Barbara0 -
Well, didn't hold true to my only 1 beer at dinner...I actually had 2! LOL. BUT that's all! Pretty happy with that. Didn't even drink any of the beer we have at home! Go me!
Tonight...I plan on hitting the gym (which we shall see if that happens)...and going grocery shopping. Thus, I won't be home & will have 0's for the night! YAY!0 -
I have to pay 800 this year. If Doug wasn't still withholding like a single it would have been thousands. No real change from last year but so much more taxes. I just hate it. Boss is snarky and that will probably mean drinks. I had 3 crown and diets last night.
Syd, sorry about your back.
Kat I wish I could take some time off and clean and organize. It would make me feel so much better. Jus the little bit of weeding and powerwashing the patio made such a big difference in my mood.
Barbara, I couldn't sleep last night either.
Have a terrific lushy day all.0 -

It really is amazing how much better it can make you feel. We still had boxes and cardboard from when we moved in 3+ years ago. We basically had no garage and most of the time I had to climb over junk to get in the house and sometimes husband would have to pull out of the garage so I could get in the car :noway: Our basement wasn't bad but we decided to get rid of all the carpets and cardboard underneath that the previous owners had left for us as well as the dog couch because it is just disgusting  They cleared the stuff from the garage and the porch but we filled the truck so they have to come tomorrow for the stuff in the basement but it feels great looking at the clean garage, deck and porch and with the exception of the junk pile the clean basement.
I had a big salad with chicken for lunch and got a work out in so I'm definitely having wine in a bit :drinker: Not sure what dinner will be but something healthy
Hope your back feels better soon SoCal :flowerforyou:0 -
That's the thing Robin, they took away those tax credits with the fiscal cliff thing and the paychecks went down and I am wondering if they changed something else as well.
Day 2 is lush-free although I had wayward thoughts.
I think my foot just might be feeling a tad bit better. Doc also put me on naproxen 500 twice a day to bring down the inflammation so I hoped that is the cure. However, I've not been working out and I've had a week off work which probably contributing. I need to get ready for the Run - or - Dye color run 5K next month.
Went grocery shopping at Aldi which is my new favorite store for some of the basics. Hot dogs and beans for 3 to 6 years depending on how the payment plan is laid out.0 -
