Hi, I'm Anna and I love to read, and love to write. I'm a young adult author. My second book, OF TRITON, releases Tuesday May 28th and I'm super excited. I usually read young adult, but sometimes I read and write adult romance. My fave books are Shatter Me by Tahera Mafi and Divergent by Veronica Roth.
My publisher is sending me on a three week book tour in June and I'm super worried that I'll gain weight on tour. All the fancy schmancy restaurants should have at least a few healthy dishes right? And I've checked my itinerary in advance--all the hotels have top notch gyms. I'm just not sure how to keep my workout clothes from stinking up my suitcase. I'll be flying to 20 cities in 20 days, with very little "down" time.
I was thinking of handwashing in the bathroom sink and hanging to dry in the hotel room...I just can't forgo exercise on this trip. Any suggestions?
Wonderful that you are going on a book tour! On a recent trip I brought a set of drip dry workout clothes and tucked them in an outside pocket of my carry on. Wore my sneakers when traveling. Patagonia has quite lightweight clothing.0 -
Hi, I am Latosha in south central PA. I am currently reading, Unglued Devotional by Lysa TerKeurst.0

Hello. Megan here!! LOVE the classics, Austen, Bronte, ****ens, Neitsche, etc. etc. Fantastic!0

Hi I'm Helen from the UK and I love reading! I have stacks of books and a Kindle, plus I download audio books (I spend a lot of time travelling) so I can have 3 or 4 books on the go at any one time. I'm studying part time for an English Language and Literature degree which has only fed my passion, so my tastes are eclectic to say the least!0

Hi I'm Angela I'm from Missouri I'm currently unemployed so reading is something I can do without spending too much money. My husband says I'm a book addict, lol I say i spend less on books than he does on his running, so go run and leave me alone. He's one of those people that will eat like 2000 calories at dinner and it's okay because he burns it off running miles and miles.
I hate running, I used to run when I was in High School on the cross country team. I ran 8 miles a day, all I have to show for it now is bad knees.
I get to start my exercise program this week, I'm thinking riding my bike and the gazelle. I can read while I'm on the gazelle, just hook my e-reader in the stand. lol. I can also go find a nice little place under a tree to read for a bit on my bike before returning home to read some more.
I am studying to take my GRE test to get into a Master's program so that is taking up some of my reading time, but what can you do, I love learning almost as much as I love reading.
Right now I'm reading an Amanda Ashley Book Embrace the Night. I really enjoy paranormal romance and mystery, however, fantasy, and SIFI work their way in there sometimes. I have started trying to read some of the classics as well finished Jane Eyre, and thinking about the Jane Austin books.0 -

Anna,
You may check with the hotels your at, many have laundry facilities, that either you can use yourself or pay to have them launder your clothes. I have many business friends that travel and they just do laundry at the hotels.
My daughter is 17 and writing her first book, I think it's pretty good. However, I am her mother and a bit bias. I'm going to send you a friend request, if you don't mind, my daughter is on Myfitnesspal as well and I'm sure having a friend in the biz will be a great joy for her.0 -
Hello fellow readers My name is JoDesa...I am kind of new to fitness pal..My sister in law has gotten me to join and I am trying to become a healthier me as most of ya'll. Hola! My name is Meredith. I'm 25. I just graduated from law school (yesterday in fact) and I really want to get back in shape. Finishing up law school while trying to study for the bar really did a number on my weight gain. Now that I have more "me time" while I search for a job, I want to get back in shape and finish a stack of books that have been waiting for me since my LSATs. Currently, I'm reading Sacre Bleu by Christopher Moore. I really hope to meet friends and find a supportive community while I get back on track. Feel free to add/message me with reading recommendations because this stack won't last very long :P0

I've read Lamb and It's A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore and loved them both. How is Sacre Bleu?0 -
Recently retired from teaching language arts and instead of reading student's essays, I'm reading what I want. Currently reading Cuckoo's Calling which I would recommend. Hardly ever watch television as I prefer books.0

Hi! 'Im Lill from Illinois. I literally just finished Silver Linings Playbook IT WAS EXCELLENT!!! I never see the movie when I read the book...they are never as good and the character details are so lost! I have alot of everything on my Kindle but on a rainy afternoon I crave the comfort of a good old fashion paper book.
I love Janet Evanovich and Patricia Cornwell..polar opposites but thats the way I read!0 -
Hi everyone I'm Denise!
I've been on Myfitnesspal for awhile now but I'm just now realizing that there is so much more to it! I had no idea there were groups on here! Anyway, I'm an avid reader and I always have my kindle in tow! I have a very long commute on a NJ Transit bus so it keeps me sane. I really like crime/murder mystery books, and I also read personal development books. And even though it's not actual "reading" I'm obsessed with cook books, probably because I love food I look forward to any great suggestions!0 -
Alyssa I want to join your FB group but the link wouldn't work for me What exactly should I search for?0
-
Hi! I am new to the group part of MFP and am looking for friends to help this journey. I love to read but don't get to as much as I would like! Send me a message or "friend" me if you are interesting and "friending" each other through this journey!!!0

Hullo there!
I'm Rob and I'm an alcoholicl^W reader.
Anyone on goodreads? I have a profile there: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/449771-robert
Um.. I like pretty much every genre.. but lately I've been reading Atwood's newer trilogy (Orxy & Crake etc) and some Jhumpa Lahiri. I adore her, she was just in Seattle.
I kinda hate e-readers but have a nook and kindle. Last time I moved I had 17 boxes of books so I'm "evolving" on that position as the politicians say.
Anyway!0 -

I'm Brad, and I've recently regained a love of books. I don't often get to read. I'm an audiobook kind of guy. Audible, and the county library are my friends. I'm currently listening to Game of Thrones, and the Steve Jobs bio. Both great books!
When I'm at the gym, I prefer to listen to books rather than music.
I love the idea of listening to books while working out! What a great way to get your book time and workout time in, I'm so going to try that, Thanks!0 -

Your so well read! I like to share a read with my teenage daughter, any good young adult suggestions? We've read hunger games, most of Rick Riordans novels, and of course the Harry Potter series, I checked out the link you posted but was unsure what was appropriate, would love to hear your thoughts0 -
I'm Addie! Like all of you, I love reading! Such a lovely escape. One of the thrift stores in my city has a huge, well organized bookstore inside and it's one of my favorite places... suffice to say I have a lot of books stacked up to read! Nothing better!
I have a huge range of interests, but some of my favorite books/authors are: The Wheel of Time, A Song of Ice and Fire, Nora Roberts, Stephen King, Charlaine Harris, Outlander, Hunger Games, Harry Potter... I don't know why my mind is drawing a blank right now! I love bios and dystopian novels right now.
You can add me on goodreads:

OR add me as a friend here; as a new (returning) MFP member, I'd love some new friends. Thanks!0 -

Hi everyone. I'm recently back on MFP and came across this board. I love to read and am always reading something. Currently, I'm reading "Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. It was on Amazon's best books of 2013 list. I'll pretty much read anything. I have a Kindle, but have to admit that I still buy actual books for my favorites. Nothing makes me happier than looking at my bookshelves! ha ha ha I look forward to chatting with you as well as getting more recommendations (although my "to-read" list grows faster than books get checked off! lol)0

Hi, I'm Maureen, a book junkie. I began to juggle several books at a time within the past couple of years. Now I have my book club book, my pleasure book, a Kindle book, and audio cd in the car and an audio on the phone. I also spend a lot of time on Good Reads browsing for books, my to-read list is actually embarrassing since it would take me more than 10 years to work through it at my current rate....0

Hello, I am Maria. I read every day, currently "The Bostonians" by Henry James. It would be nice to exchange notes on that book. I find reading keeps my mind off food. Best wishes to all.0
