Held my Superman on spin pole for a full minute! I was pretty proud
Also got an eye opener variation down for the first time.

I very, very nearly did a Crucifix this week. Didn't quite manage it, but I think I'll get it at some point next week.
I've had some trouble with climbing (which is why *almost* doing a Crucifix is big for me!) - I can do the initial step up, but can't quite move up again. But one of the instructors did say I did the best step up she'd seen me do yet.
I was also told by another instructor that my back hooks are flawless, both right and left handed, so she gave me the go ahead to start doing them one handed.
And apparently I can do perfect Body Waves, which I'm not sure I'm proud of or not! Haha0 -

I auditioned for my studio's show, Rhinestone Cowgirls Pole and Burlesque Show, this past Sunday and made it!!!
This is a for reals show, not the little studio parties I usually perform at, but a thing people pay a decent amount to eat dinner at and watch. *eep* I'm super nervous but also super excited!

Crucifix happened this week! Nailed it (if you pardon the pun... or don't) about 4 times. XD Also got in a few really good seats, which I've been struggling with a bit as well. Next thing I'm aiming for is being able to climb up after the initial step onto the pole.0

Handstands! I am SO SCARED of handstands. When I was 6 a gym teacher supposedly 'helped me' do a handstand by holding onto my legs when I was up but she didn't realise she had lifted me clean off the ground and I was hanging by my ankles and petrified.
I can't do a handstand yet, but I'm getting used to taking all the weight on my hands to do a butterfly handstand - hoping I can learn to balance without the pole, and then maybe... one day... spring up into it from standing. That was a major moment for me when I moved my hips away from the pole!
I also had a six week hiatus from pole and came back to it incredibly weaker - I had been on the verge of an aerial shoulder mount and within six weeks I had almost lost my regular invert. Don't stop poling! You lose so much so quickly!0 -
Had loads of successes last night! The biggest was probably that I can actually climb now - like, I could do the initial step up, but nothing after that. Last night I was finally able to climb a few steps higher. I also got my chair spin and carousel nailed, and successfully did a combo - chair into back hook. Another one, I'm not sure what this pose is called... It's basically a crucifix, but you have one leg extended out in front of you. I was able to do that, while leaning back.
I did two classes last night - a beginner class, and a mixed ability. For the beginner class, the instructor basically had us do as many level 1 moves as we could fit in. At the end, she was like, "Yeah, you guys don't belong on level 1 one any more." And gave us all certificates to move us up to level 2.
So yeah, all in all, feeling really good about pole last night! Tonight, I'm going to the city where my best friend lives and accompanying her to her very first pole class. Really excited! I know she'll love it!0 -
We learned the Iguana Mount this week (open, straight-legged) and I got it on the first try! Woo-HOO!!! :bigsmile:0

Bouncing up and down in a shoulder mount, brass monkey mount (though I haven't repeated the success!). Having a massively increased stamina now that the cooler weather has arrived0

So far I havent been able to pull myself back up after I get in this move. Gotta work more on my ab strength. Fell on my shoulders a couple times. I need to try to get the pole more in my knee, I tend to hold it a bit on my calf. But this is my newest success
I just did this too but I do it with my legs together instead of further apart where the knee crosses the other leg.0 -
I haven't been poling in awhile, but I started weight lifting and am getting eager to return to pole stronger!!! I might just try some tonight!!0

I got the Peter Pan and Tinkerbell spins this week! I had been completely unable to do them for two months (not sure why) and then out of the blue I could do them just fine this week (hadn't even practiced them for 3 weeks or so)!0

I managed to get into both boomerang and carousel hold! My arms are killing me, my form was rubbish and I couldn't hold either for the life of me - but I got into both!
Now to keep strengthening my arms and abs until next class0 -

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell? Finally some names I recognize! Are you an S Factor girl, too? I have such a hard time translating to and from the lingo we use! I'm constantly on poledancedictionary.com! :laugh:
ETA: I've never had much use for the Peter Pan spin, but I love a good Tinkerbell in to Flying Body Spiral - so graceful!0 -
I did the corkscrew spin! Letting one hand go mid-spin is terrifying, but this is the coolest thing I've learnt so far0

I managed "Knees" on my first attempt, I was well chuffed with myself. It made the swollen knee and huge bruises totally worth it lol x0

I did the invert! I can invert now! I can even take my hands off.0

I got my hands-free inside leg hang tonight without a spotter. I only held it a few seconds and it hurt like @#$%, but I did it! :bigsmile:0

YAY! I just got my invert last night, and it's still not very pretty. I was really having trouble, I think 6 weeks off (injury and then vacation) made me lose a lot of strength. Next session I have advanced pole troubleshooters and pole level 6 back-to-back...and intro to aerial hoop (refresher because I can't take the non-intro class as it is the same time as pole) right before. That will be fun! :P0

I succeeded in two short pole sessions this week after a long absence. :-) Good enough for me...even though it's going to be so frustrating getting back to where I was (which wasn't very far along!). For the sake of bridesmaid dresses...(and my own health and happiness of course =P)0

I've got flatliner and almost scorpio! My butterfly is apparently very close too, I just need to keep practising. I've bought tite grip (due this week) but my x-pole probably won't arrive until after easter. So many bruises!0

The other day I pulled myself up into a sit from a handstand
had to have help with the handstand part, but my abs have never been that strong!
I'm also getting more fluid with climbing and can now move both my feet up the pole at a time, instead of one and then the other
I just started pole a couple months ago, so i'm still very new, but i'm totally in love and my first showcase is mid-may. Wish me luck!0 -

I did a Cobra Dive for the first time yesterday :-) I didn't even think about it, I was just dancing freestyle at the end of class and next thing I knew I was doing a handstand out of it :-)0

I finally go this move tonight!! I wasn't able to handstand out of it, instead I pulled myself back up, but I was soooo excited to finally get it -- I've been trying for a few months, but I had a mental block keeping me from doing it.0 -
