grrr - I should have gotten up and rode before work on the 16th but it was so lovely to sleep in for a bit! I blew my streak for the July with bike riding! It started raining hard as we pulled into the driveway after work and rained all evening and into the night :grumble:0 -

I'm here and doing okay, I promise....just on vacation and kicking back a little so the updates are a little slow right now... :blushing:
HOLY BUCKETS, SUFFERLANDRIAN!!! You blew past your GOAL like it was not just standing still, but running backwards at full steam!!! Daaaaang, Dean... :drinker::drinker: And  you got it, I'll wait to bump you to 600 until you've gotten a chance to see the yellow.
319SARA - CONGRATS on the 50 lb loss, Slim!!
SUNFLOWER9194 - I hope your back is feeling better now...for sure in time for Sunday!
NEWNANAX3 - Welcome to the group!
WANDERAN - Great job hitting your GOAL!! I see your message to bump you to 200 but your ticker says 250 so I'll go with that! :drinker:
KAR328 - Congrats on reaching your GOAL!! And as requested, I bumped you up! :drinker:
ANACONDA469 - Hang in there, you're doing great! Still a lot a month left to make your goal. I have no doubt you're going to make it. :flowerforyou:
HKRISTINE - So sorry to hear you had a setback with your knee. I know how frustrating that is! Guess it's just going to take a little more time to heal, but be patient. You'll get back there. :flowerforyou:
POSTOLACHE - WOW, another person hitting their GOAL already!! :drinker:
I'm thrilled to see so many of you hitting your goal already this month and as TAXMOM pointed out, how many of you have upped your goal marks!! This is such a welcome turn-around from last month!! :drinker::drinker:

Won't have access to my ticker until tomorrow night, so I'll just put my mileage here (so I don't forget it) and update my ticker later. I got 19.2 miles in on the bike today.
While I'm still feeling disappointed about my knee, the spinning didn't seem to bother it at all, so that's good. And, it looks like I might be getting trained to be an official spin instructor - which would be AWESOME. Earn a little "walkin' around" money doing something I would be doing anyway... That's kind of exciting0 -

Back on the bike. Had my clip in pedals, cleats and bike checked the other day. I just can't get rid of the apprehension of when I go to stop I am going to crash because I can't unclip. Even though I am able to ride just fine, and unclip and stop, I just keep getting this feeling I am going to fall again. Does this ever go away? Got miles to report today, just not what I was hoping for.
07/15 - 1.5 miles walking
07/16 - 7.0 miles biking
07/17 - 14.0 miles biking
01/18 - 10.0 miles biking

I wish I had some "from experience" encouraging words for you - but I don't. I don't have discouraging words either - I just don't ride bike outside - I'm too afraid (although I have been thinking I should conquer that fear). I really hope that, with time, and getting more rides under your belt, that the fear will dissipate. It is certainly not any kind of fun being timid and afraid of getting hurt. Hang in there, keep trying... and if, after a reasonable amount of time, you're still not feeling comfortable, go back to straps instead of the clips. There is nothing wrong with that, and no one will think less of you. Even if you feel like the clips made the ride more smooth, or whatever, it's not worth it if you're riding in fear and the clips are killing your joy of cycling.0 -

I added 6 this morning. Set a PR on a 5 mile run (9:33 average). Working towards a 10K in under 60 in September.

I think I asked you this already, but you did get them adjusted lighter so it's easier to unclip, right? Maybe go a little looser yet, at least until you start having problems with them coming out too* easily or at unplanned times. That might ease your mind if it takes almost no effort to unclip.
You are doing great though so keep hanging in there and it will become second nature eventually. They make pedaling so much more efficient and the benefits outweigh that occasional panic, I think* so anyway.
