Raced to an age-group bronze medal last night in the Cornhusker St Games Energy 5k with a 24:09 (got silver & bronze AG medals past 2 years in this event). Heat & humidity were challenging. Broke my fastest mile & fastest 1k records on my new Garmin. Not a PR and not a gold medal, but happy to have done my best and achieved something. Back to 50k training.

    Tijuana Marathon - 3:13:25

I wanted to practice my pacing for 3:05 but the heat/humidity had other plans. I managed to stay on pace through 20 miles, I decided to shut it down ~mile 22 to avoid incuring a lenghty recovery.

  • Hi everyone - just joined the group - been on MFP for about a month now.

Managed to get my 5K pb down to 18:04 last Saturday - good run, flat course. Half marathon tomorrow... :)
  • Half completed in about 85:20 - farce of a race - badly organised, but got there in the end!

Should have done a long run really this morning but the weather was so bad I decided I'd rather spend an hour doing a local 10k than 2hrs on my own. I felt good going out and realised if I pushed it I could set a new PB. Which I did, by a mile! Previous PB was 1:03:59, this morning I ran my first sub 60 10k in fact a sub 59! My new PB is 58:05 So pleased as my remaining running goal this year was a sub 60 10k. Now I'm wondering if I can do a sub 2:15 HM in October (current PB is 2:26)!

New 5K PR (last weekend, but I was on vacation, so I didn't have time to post): 23:39 (7:36 pace). First in AG (F 40-45), but there were only three of us so...

First ever fell race, 9.3 miles 1,764 ft climb 2hrs 8 mins . the longest race by far that I 've every done, not a great time by other peoples standards but I'm really pleased with the fact that I finished in under 2hrs 15mins.

My speed seems to have suddenly taken a big leap (no idea s to why as training is same as its been for a while). After a new 10kPB last week, I took 59s off my 5k PB on Saturday so have dropped almost 2mins off it it in less than a month. 5PB now stands at 26:52

    Wild Duck 5K
    10th OA/5th AG

This was a Masters race so only (fast) old people. I'm a little disapointed in my placement but I was 20 seconds than last year.

Turns out I could do a sub 2:15 in August! Ran the inaugural Severn Bridge HM on Sunday and completed it in 2:14:20 given it was an undulating course (approx 1200ft of climbs in total, although only 1 'proper' hill) I'm absolutely over the moon! Still creaking today though LOL

After moving house I went to a new Park Run Course a hilly 5k trail race. Ran 26:55 not bad for me, I finished 113th out of 250 runners and I placed 3rd in my age group. (OK there were only five of us over 65 but I beat 2 of them).

    (4/5/14) Michaud Family Fundraiser 5K -- 32:01
    (4/6/14) Bridge the Gap 5K -- 30:56
    (06/05/14) Boggy Brook 5K -- 30:58
    (8/24/14) Run for the Fallen 5K -- 29:28
    (8/30/14) Wilbur's Run 5K -- 28:36

My 5K time has gotten so much better since I started running longer! I have a 10K on 9/27 and I have been running 5-6 mi vs the typical 3-4. The 8/30 Wilbur's 5K was my PR race from last year -- still stood at 29:11 when I raced it this year. Smoked it :flowerforyou: I couldn't be happier with my progress!
