February Challenge - Me vs. The Binge

Welcome!!
Well this challenge is a challenge with yourself. The challenge is for you to win in the fight against "The Binge". Many of us struggle with binging and a few of us have found that making "The Binge" a person has helped us fight the emotions or urge to binge.
So the objective of the challenge is to have more days for you (Me) than the "The Binge".
When you have a day you do not succumb to binge urges or binge give yourself (ME) a point. When you give in to the urge to binge you give 'The Binge" a point. No beating yourself up about it because tomorrow is another day. Honesty with yourself is crucial for it to help you and others.
So we keep score with ourselves the whole month. We encourage each other along the way. Please feel free to share your ups, downs, successes, struggles, etc. You will find you are not alone. See below for format. Feel free to use it or use your own format. This Challenge keeps you mindful of binging and the daily support and accountiability helps also.
Check in often. The more you check and share the better you will do for the month. So are you in? You are stronger than the The Binge. One day at a time.
Current month 2014:
Me (or you can use your user name or real name) - 0
The Binge - 0
***** ATTENTION *****
This request is not meant to offend anyone. I am requesting that people please refrain from mentioning specific foods on this particular binge thread. This is what is used in most therapy groups for BED. When I was in BED therapy in 2011 we were not allowed to mention specific foods. It could lead others to think about foods that they otherwise would not think of and can trigger binges for others. Hope this makes sense.
Again this request is not meant to offend. It is requested as a means of support and consideration for others using this thread. Please note this request is for this thread only and not for other threads within the BE Support Group.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Molly

Marking to come back and post when I can. I am on vacation with no wifi likely after today but I am hoping to break my horrible binge cycle while I'm gone. Too much drinking and eating, yes, but hopefully no bingeing.0

Had a very close call with the Binge yesterday. I was at the beginning of a binge, about to go into all out binge mode, when I decided, "let's just log what I've already eaten." When I logged it, I was surprised that my day was not completely ruined, and could still be salvaged. So I stopped, and managed to close out my diary only 100 calories over. Huge feat for me! So glad I took a moment to stop, log, and realize not all was lost!0 -

Yesterday was the day that I truly admitted to myself that I have a problem. And this week will be the week where I forge my own path and prove to myself that I am in control of my body. Feel free to add me if you'd like. We're all gonna make it!0 -

I had two pretty good years, then relapsing since November. Out of control, daily binges by end of January.
Sunday 1st Feb: started down the path of a binge, but used mindfulness of my physical fullness to stop early on, to socialise with my housemate and get busy with activities away from the TV. It worked!
Monday 2nd Feb: skipped the supermarket / food hall on way home and bought a low calorie snack substitute from the pharmacy instead. The act of doing this cleared my mind enough to make a healthy supper choice when I got home, I stayed away from the TV again.

I am definitely struggling. Every day I have the urge to binge. Recently, I have been having mini-binges, meaning that I can usually still salvage the day. However, it’s disappointing when I have to nix my yummy planned dinner because I ate too much of food X earlier in the day. I lack the motivation for just about everything, especially my morning workouts (and workouts in general). I didn’t do as well as I wanted to on my last exam, and I’m already behind and feeling hopeless for the next. Even though I am not bingeing, and am eating under calories (on most days), and working out, my weight is at a standstill and has even gone up a bit. I know I need to be patient, but lets just say I respond well to positive reinforcement, and the scale is not giving me that. Ok, end rant. Just needed to get out my feelings oh blah as of late.0
