June 23: today was a bear. Not only humidity extremes but wicked storms. Hopefully I will ge my long run in tomorrow morning.
8 miles biking
TTD: 135.41 miles
@Dave: I agree with your comments completely. I think all of do. The challenge is to meet our goals.
@anaconda469: As a friend told me last year after my knee surgery. There will lots of days to run and ride and there will always be races but I only get one real knee. So take care of you first and allow time to heal. All that bouncing around cannot be good for the brain and spine.
@lovemyalex: Prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.0 -
got in 3 miles yesterday and 3 today. Slowly getting back into the exercise groove.
@dcmat - glad to see you back at your (somewhat crazy) goal level again.
@vhuber - wishing you peace and a chance to decompress. Sounds like it's time to just say no.
@anaconda - as frustrating as it is to take it easy, your future health may require it.
last but certainly not least - best of luck tomorrow to lovemyalex. When you are able, let us know how the surgery went.
Thank you so very much for the well wishes and prayers... I will let you know as soon as I am able.... Thanks again and keep on moving...0 -
Long busy day at work. I was happy that I had managed a little over 2 miles thanks to a chance to walk to get my lunch today. Then my dear husband suggested a walk around the neighborhood after dinner (and after dark as it turned out). So I added 3.75 miles today. June total 98.25 miles.
That puts me back into the green!

@rainydayworkout - I'm not sure what has happened, but you seem to be missing from the spreadsheet entirely. I'm sending a message to Dave to see if he can figure it out. I could always add you as a "new" participant, but that would lose all your past challenge miles, so I don't want to do that if I don't have to. So, hang tight, and hopefully Dave can figure out what happened.0 -
Slowly working my way to my goal. My sweet husband had some reconstructive surgery Friday, so my weekend was pretty much spent indoors taking care of him. Fortunately for me he's not a big baby as I've heard other women refer to their husbands, but it hurts my heart to see his face all swollen and bruised.
Anyway, so far this month I've hit 35.8 of my 45 mile goal.

Sorry Holli, my mistake not communicating that info about @rainydayworkout to you. Everything is good.

Added 3.5 miles today with a longer lunch walk. With the extra miles I put in yesterday, I can almost taste the GREEN. I'm only 2.3 miles out of the green right now.

Got the results back from spine x-rays. No cracked vertebrae, but sprained back and neck muscles including extreme lower back. But that is questionable as no one know what exactly happened to my body upon impact, did I twist, land flat or what, no one knows. So the upshot is one doctor released me back to exercise after 8 days, and the doctor from yesterday said that was bad. I can now resume as soon as the muscle spasms calm down. Oh and crashing with my arthritis didn't help much either. But sprains take longer to heal. So I am going to get a deep message or hot tub and see if it frees up these muscles. I would like to get a good night sleep, haven't had one of those since all this started. I am still moving though not much at the moment.
06/22 - 16.0 miles cycling
06/23 - 2.0 miles walking
06/24 - 2.0 miles walking
Total: 143.0 miles
