Dear PinkyPan1 I am not an app person I have a cell phone for emergency use only and it's a flip phone. I wonder if she will launch dvd's of the walks that people used the most?

I have a phone and can use apps but I can not imagine placing my phone down and using the app for the walk unless I am missing something. I guess we will not know anything until it is launched.

I often keep my phone on me when I'm doing dvd's inside.
I'll keep a watch for the app to launch and download it ASAP.

Years and years ago she launched a few cd's for outdoor walking, remember Walkmen? Gosh that seems like a long time ago. I notice in an email that she is (I think) selling a device with with ear buds and it has her speaking the workout to you. I don't care for that myself. I do believe zichab is right about her intended audience.

Maybe you can find those workouts online at ebay or even Collage Video. Are they strickly something she produced just for youtube or her own website? I know there are some called "Walk Your Way" with Leslie, sponsored by Jenny Craig. They are sold by a seller named rnsgoodies on ebay. There are tons of her older workouts there too as well as the new ones.

Have to laugh, when I searched for "Walk this Way" dvd on ebay I got a lot of Run DMC hits. Lol. Hope you are able to find those workouts. I have my favorites too and wouldn't want to give them up. We have metered internet service so we don't download much so I buy my workouts at Wal-Mart and online.

I did the whole 5 Boosted miles of Leslie's new DVD. I'll write a review in the main forum after I get a shower and eat!!! This is my first snow storm celebration and I am channeling LilyMay's son!

Friday: 105 minutes in the park on Friday, which also included some time on the exercise equipment there.

Saturday: I walked 60 minutes this morning in my neighborhood.
Sunday: It will be my rest day tomorrow.

So far this month: total of 1090 minutes walking outdoors.

Thanks Ann, zichab, and PinkyPan for your encouraging words.

Lily, I am so sorry to read about your mother's fall and her fractured shoulder and possible hip involvement also. Praying for you both :flowerforyou: .

I received the email also. It said "We are very excited to announce the release of our all new "Your Daily Walk" app in the coming weeks that will replace Walk Social. "Your Daily Walk" is an APP that plays full workouts on your mobile device (desktop version is a potential future development). We will plan each day of the month for you all year long!

We thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our program, and for walking the "Social" walk with us over the years.

Walk Social will be discontinued on Dec. 1, 2015, with app release soon to follow. We will make any app announcements on social media and newsletters, so please follow along (links below) for any updates. Thanks again and keep walking strong friends!"

I will miss the Walk Social part of Leslie's website. I use a desktop and have an app-less old flip phone :o

    Walk happy :p .

Hey everyone! I have been a total slug with my walks! And now they are getting rid of everything dec 1. *smh* Has anyone tried to download the videos from the WAH site? I love the fast 3 miles! I am not that excited about this app at all. I would like to play them on my PC so I can walk in that room. Do you think the app will also work with the PC? UGH!

I am starting back at it tonight! NO excuses! I am seriously going the wrong way on the scale if I gain back 10 pounds I will become a thumb sucking pile of goo. *sigh*

coopscoopcCan you record the 3 Fast Miles before they are taken down? Leslie is looking for a younger demographic and apparently apps are for them, while the rest of us walk using the web. I am a little surprised that they are removing the web version though as most companies run both. Even Endomondo has both the app and the webpage.

Heading home to New York for the holiday! I probably will not be able to check back in until Wednesday. I am going to walk around my classroom a lot tomorrow to make up for sitting in a car for 9 hours! :grumble: Gotta keep those miles up and that weight down!

I walked 80 minutes this morning.... quite chilly (for me) at 35 degrees. We usually get our first freeze right around Thanksgiving or so. But so far it looks like it will be back into the mid to higher 70s this week :) .

So far this month: total of 1170 minutes walking outdoors.

    Have a fun trip, Brenda!

Yay for you for starting back to walking, coopscoopc. The starting back again is always difficult, it seems. But you can do it o:)

You asked about Leslie's new app, according to the email from Leslie's web site that I received and quoted in my previous post above stated " (desktop version is a potential future development)." So who knows, maybe someday. Perhaps the newer versions of the PC operating systems might support the app on the app side. I have no idea since I have stayed on the desk top side of windows 8.1, so far.

    Walk Happy,

My goal for November is 120 miles - 15 over 10,000 steps - get back on mini trampoline or use my walking DVD's.

    Week 1- 24.2 miles (1/15 over 10,000)
    Week 2 - 27.7 miles (2/15 over 10,000)
    Week 3 - 25.1 miles (3/15 over 10,000)
Total - 77 miles ....catching up to last month

Nov 22 - 6.0 miles - 13204 steps (4/15) ........a lot of steps around the hospital up and down the stairs. Power outages in the hospital while they did the renovations to the power system. Most of the elevators were out of service. Lots of confusion for everyone.
    Nov 23 - 3.7 miles

Home to restock my suitcase while my DSIL stays with mom. Surgery went good. Now the recovery process... they will only put her shoulder in a sling, they put a plate and screws in her hip. Now she has matching hips :) ....hopefully she finds a little humor in that when she gets better.

Wow Lily, I admire YOUR sense of humor. You have a lot on your plate now - but you are holding up well. Good on you for continuing to walk. It's kind of like meditation when you are going through a stressful time. Sending healing vibes to your Mom.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes for my mom. I am off to the city to sit with mom at the hospital. I am thankful that DSIL had the time to spell me off for a couple days. The doctors are supposed to start talking with the doctors in our home town hospital today to start the process of transferring mom back to her home hospital. She will need lots of machinery to move her around as she won't be able to use her walker until her shoulder heals - at least 8 to 10 weeks...

Later everyone, take care and walk for me!
