This is so exciting the amazing race will begin soon. I have sent all of you messages and friend requests. It would be great though if everyone can take a minute to introduce themselves to the team. I'm Danae and I'm 41 mother of 2 teenagers and currently disabled nurse working on putting my lupus into remission through the Paleo diet and exercise. I just finished the Winter Blast challenge and it was a ton of fun. I expect this one to be just as awesome.
Every week we will log our exercise minutes on the spreadsheet. If you have a rest day just put in a zero for that day. I completely understand everyone is at different fitness levels. I would never want someone to push themselves to far to try to keep up with another. Just do what your body will allow. Trust me I have been in every avenue of illness, pain, meds, no exercise. I totally understand some people will have limits and that's OK!!!!!
If anyone needs help with the spreadsheets just let me know. I hope we can all support and positively encourage each other every week!!
One last thing I had asked for some ideas for team names so let's just toss them around here and vote!! I'm so glad to have each and every one of you on my team. Welcome aboard and lets do this!!!!!

Hello
I'm Eva and I live in the UK, where I'm a student in physics. I'm 35, married and have a teenage son.
Since I became a student again, 3 years ago, I gained around 35 lbs (15 kg). I hurt my back 6 months ago and have been living with sciatica and constant pain (sometimes very strong) ever since. One of the reasons I'm not recovering, as far as I understand, is my weight. So apart from aesthetic reasons I really need to lose this weight again if I want to be able to walk without popping painkillers in my mouth after every walk.
I started my calorie tracking on 9th Feb this year and have lost about 5lbs so far with only walking daily and no other exercise.
I've never been in a challenge (or group even) before and still making my way around here.

Hey ya'll! I live in the NC. I will be turning 50 years young in 24 days! I have been married to my best friend for almost 31 years. I am determined to be the best me I can be and have decided 2016 is my year. I have never done a challenge like this before but I am super excited to participate. I need motivation and I think being part of a team will help with that! LET'S DO THIS TEAM 2!0

I am in Louisiana--a busy teacher! Life tends to get in the way of exercise, but not this time.0

Hello!! I'm Liz and I live Michigan. I'm 34 years and I have been married for ten years. I have two beautiful boys ages 6 years and 7 months. I started at 284 6 months ago after having my second child and I'm down 59lbs. I love myself and I have so much confidence in myself regardless of my weight. I told myself that 2016 was my year and I was going to get in the best shape of my life. No excuses and no *kitten* I'm going to do this. I love that I get to share this journey with people who have the same goals and struggles as I do. I'm here to have a lot of fun, make new friends and kick some *kitten*!! We got this!! #20160

Hi! I'm Michelle. I'm 38 (soon to be 39) and live in Northern Kentucky with my partner and our two crazy dogs. I've gained a lot of weight due to depression and health issues. I'm trying to lose weight and get healthy before my 40th birthday next year. This is my first challenge and I'm excited to get started and share the journey with supportive people.
I like the team name Happy Feet.0 -
@LizFitIt34 I love She-hulk to!!! It's so nice to meet all of you! I'm so excited for this challenge! We have such a great group here!!

Superheroes sounds great to me!
I'm Jess; 30 years old, married mother to two girls 5 &7. I have never been involved in a MFP challenge before, but I am looking forward to this one!
I am currently in the healing process of a multitude of health issues, and at the point that I am able to lose weight. My body has a whole lot of healing to do and I have 40 pounds to lose, to be gone FOREVER!! It's time to lose all the weight, continue to get healthy and even healthier and ultimately to my optimal once I have lost all the weight and well into stabilization mode.
I have to keep everything low impact and watch my pace (burn out factor), but I will help with everything as a team member! Ilook forward to working with all of you!0 -
What is with me and technology over the past 24 hrs?...hopefully no longer!
I added everyone at the top of the list, anyone from la368859 down, it won't let me add.
Please feel free to add me!
Thanks,
Jess0 -
Hi all, I am Tia.
I am 33 yo. Live with my husband 4 shell babies and one fur baby (labrador ) in Michigan. This is my first challenge on MFP and excited about it.
After being diagnosed for t2 diabetes, 4 miscarriages (last one beilg in Oct 15) and 1 ectopic pregnancy (which sent me to ER with some serious health problems in August 15) I decided to get my health and specially my Diabetes under complete control. So I am all for getting into this challange..
I empathize with everyone here going through health issues and wish all of us good and happy health.
Thanks
Tia.

Hi everybody. Excited for this race and to be a part of this team. My name is Lucinda and I am a part time children's minister. I am a 37 year old wife and mother of three girls ages 13,10, & 5. I started this weight loss journey in the middle of January and have lost almost 13 lbs. hoping this challenge and race will help keep me focused. Looking forward to getting to know you all.0

So excited we have such a great group of people here! I will say many of us have had some sort of illness or injury. I think we can all use our own experiences to help each other each week. I'm sure collectively we can all offer some suggestions and guidance to get around things. Monday is the big day! Last thing left is our name. So please keep throwing out your votes and I'll keep track and see where we are on Sunday.0

Hey everyone! I'm Laura. I'm 31 and work at a college in western New York. My weight had been hovering around 175 but recently its been creeping up a bit and that's why I decided to join a challenge. I eat fairly well but I'm looking forward to the active part of this challenge. I hope the accountability will motivate me.
Oh, and I like the Happy Feet nomination.0 -
Ok people, I need to know who all are doing what arm challenge here? I believe there are couple of them mentioned here.0
-
I will be doing both arm challenges starting tomorrow. They are 30 days each and the first week counts for our amazing race.
Team 2 please make sure to read all the info posted for the amazing race to start tomorrow. Including the minutes we need for the week and the roadblocks and challenges for the week. We need to all do one roadblock for it to count. There are multiple options this week.
Let's do this guys we got this!!
CRUSHIN GOALS!!!!!!0 -
I am new to this. I'm not sure what, where, how I suppose to be tracking. I entered my weight today, but what do I log for the amazing race and where?0
-
@UFGatorsMichelle hello!!! My best suggestion would be to go to the top of the thread for the spring break challenge. Read the posts with the amazing race rules. Then read the thread with the amazing race week 1 golden ticket. This should give you a pretty good idea on how this works.
So basically there are 2 parts: the first part is the Tuesday weigh-ins and the 4 pre-assessment exercises that you chart and repeat once every 4 weeks. That's just to see how you are progressing for yourself. If you are unable to do the plank, sit-ups, push-ups, walk or jog a mile then that's ok.
Part 2 is the amazing race team challenge and for that we collectively as a team have to do so many minutes per week according to the destination. This week it works out to be 326 minutes per person for the week. Which is 47 minutes a day over 7 days. With that being said please don't be overwhelmed by these numbers. There are many of us that do well above that total and can help make up the difference. Please don't push yourself further than you can go. There are also roadblocks, nutritional, and accountability challenges that give our team a chance for extra credit points. This is all explained under week 1 golden ticket. The only thing with the roadblocks is every one on the team has to choose and do one to get the credit for it. The nutritional and accountability can be 1 or all of us.
There is also 2 arm challenges posted these are optional and extra. You can opt out if you don't want to. They go 30 days. They count in your minutes for daily exercise and if you do the first week of the arm challenge there is extra credit points this week for that to.
So you need to log on the spreadsheet on Tuesdays your weigh in and daily your minutes of exercise under team 2 tab and any roadblocks or challenges you completed.
I have already put everyone's name on our team 2 spreadsheet for this week. So please go check it out.
I have noticed there are already 2-3 people not responding to me. With that being said I have calculated this weeks numbers with 15 of us instead of 18 so we are not in a mad rush to catch up and we don't get penalized for it or get eliminated.
I hope this was helpful but it is really important to read all the rules and posts for the challenge each week.
If I can answer any more questions let me know!
Let's do this team 2!!!!!!!!0 -
Ok I have two questions: 1. After we are done with the arm challenge at the end of the week is that when we type yes on the spread sheet? 2. Do we post daily to the challenge threads when we complete each day or do we just post on the spread sheet when we are completely done with all challenges and road blocks? @lupie7770
-
Hey TEAM 2! We really need to decide on a name. We can do this! Let's all work together to crush these goals!0
-
I totally forgot about the name there were a lot of votes for Happy Feet I say let's take it!!!!!0
